  1. Couple of nice Opel Mantas there - takes me back a long way to the early 80's!! Scary when I think about it!! Den
  2. Hi Where did you get the clear fog lamp lens and I guess a red bulb? Cheers Den
  3. Thanks and good point re: metal dealers - google search found 2 in Stirling. Den
  4. Hi Does anyone know of any scrap dealers around Stirling/Falkirk area (maybe even North Glasgow)that will exchange 'Beer Tokens' for various scrap metal from a shed & garage clearout? Not a huge amount but thinking might get a few quid: bag old copper pipe & fittings from DIY over the years; knackered alloy wheel and a couple boxes various metal 'bits'. Den
  5. Hi I spoke to Subaru UK yesterday who said that they were aware of the current situation and in constant contact with Metasat but cannot tell them how to run our rectify issues in their business. The guy I spoke with suggested trying an alarm activation to see if I got any comms from metasat which I did and was pleaseantly surprised to receive the 'alarm activation' text almost immediately, although, it was dated for 19 June instead of 22nd!! I later retried (mid afternoon) the SAT.STATUS request and did not get a 'text delivery' confirmation or a reply until around 2am!! At least things seem to be working if still a little eratic. Den
  6. FYI Called Metasat this morning and was informed that the two way communication problems with Subaru's is still ongoing - and yes she was specfic in stating Subaru when I asked if the communication issue was resolved. I am going to contact Subaru UK and see what, if anything, they are doing to push for Metasat to resolve this. Den
  7. Exactly, it isn't working as it's supposed to and as provided by Subaru UK when you buy the car. Maybe we should start complaining to Subaru UK / IM asking what they will do to 'encourage' metasat to put a bit more urgency on getting this resolved. I phoned Metasat yesterday and was told 'yes, there is a problem with text communication at the moment but I am not personally involved so can't say anymore than we are aware of it and are working to resolve the problem' If we don't pay our 100 euros each year on time, I bet they would be quick enough to discontinue the cover. Den
  8. Hi I was waiting for me email/text with account details for new hatch, called Subaru Dealer today who contacted Subaru UK. Subaru UK confirmed the Metasat account was in place and provided the login details. Subaru UK apparently informed the dealer that Metasat were experiencing some issues just now. The number to call for Metasat UK is 01905 791700. I managed to login, check my personal details and change the account password, however, texting SAT.STATUS to metasat is not even getting a 'delivery' message let alone a reply. I also tried sending SAT.STATUS on Monday evening & on Tuesday morning - got message delivered confirmation for both on Tuesday evening around 9pm!!! The whole situation is not very encouraging!! Wonder who is liable if your car is stolen and the insurance refuses to pay out because the tracker is not active? Den
  9. Hi Yes, another for perfomance creations direct from their site as posted by Gus or via Fleabay. Many colours of flaps (ooer missus) and choice of text e.g. STI, WRX, etc and again the colour. I just fitted a set to my hatch - they were £66.90 delivered and it took me around an hour and a half to fit all four. Den
  10. I've never bothered lowering any of the Imprezas I've had and genrally happy with them in standard set-up. I did get fast road geometry on this car and it did make a difference. If I'd kept it I might have eventually put some whiteline bushes etc on it. Den
  11. Well after 5 great years I said farewell to my Hawkeye STI last weekend, she was Impreza No.7 for me and has been a great car. No doubt at times I will miss her and I know the next owner is getting a cracking low mileage car. (although the WRC spoiler was swapped back to the original STI one and I understand the WRC graphics are coming off ) Here she is or was: ...anyway here is the replacement A big thanks to John at S&S once again for putting together another superb deal. Den
  12. Hi Did you buy a kit to change the lights appearance or did you actually replace the light units? Either way do you mind me asking who supplied the solution used? Plus does anyone know where you can get the clear lense for the Rear Foglight? Cheers Den
  13. Hi Looking at getting hold of an ISUZU Trooper as a '2nd' car. I've been looking at one but it's due the big service (72K - cambelt, all fluids, etc) and that is reflected in the price being asked. Doing some research before going ahead to find out roughtly how much this is going to cost and expect ISUZU stealers will be way over priced. Does anyone know of Central Scotland based independent garages with a good reputation for servicing 4x4's that I could/should enquire with? Do Hypertech do anything as big as Troopers? Anyone any knowledge of CR Gordon 4x4 in Fife? Cheers Den
  14. Ditto pretty much what Gordon & Del have said. Between my good lady & myself we've had 7 cars from them over recent years and cannot fault the deals agreed or indeed the ongoing customer service. Travelling down for the annual service is like visiting good friends or relatives - taking your car for a service can be dangerous as in the course of the visit you can end up agreeing a car change!! The silver 04 plate blob STI is one of my ex-cars which I bought new and kept for around 18 months - saw it in there last year around this time and it still looked in good condition. Looks like someone traded it back in after a short period and after changing to the black wheels. Sorry but not a fan of black wheels - GOLD, GOLD, GOLD Cheers Den
  15. Have to agree, clay bars are excellent - as said just use plenty of lube and turn/knead the clay when using and should be no issues with scratching. The 'Mequiars Starter Kit' is usually a good buy - check amazon or Halfrauds for offers. Den
  16. Steady lads - in the recent Fifth Gear episodes during November/December she was preggie & looked as if she didn't have long to go. Den
  17. After checking car was still here I can confirm it wasnae mine!! No wide arch kit just WRC spoiler & graphics Also when you put 2 November yesterday, I wondered if perhaps I was taking a trip today and you could see into the future Den
  18. I have heard that there is to be NO WR Blue available in the Saloon/Sedan So they will be available in: WHITE PLASMA BLUE any others known? Den
  19. Feck off & Kiss ma fat one!! Don't think it's for me dude - I'll keep the Hawkeye STI methinks! I would be interested to know what the additional costs are for spoiler options, etc., just to complete the "your having a laugh wi that price subaru" picture. Den
  20. For a contrast, here are some pics of the Plasma Blue STI Saloon that S&S (Ayr) have available for viewing: Still no rear spoiler though but trying to find out what the options & costs are for info. As per comments in the other "New STI Saloon" thread, I'm not convinced - need to see one in the metal (yes, the pics were sent to me on request) Den
  21. That'll be Vicky Butler Henderson then Den
  22. Might have known that would be the 1st reply! You mean no-one knows what a WRC spoiler and a Hawkeye STI look like? Ok here goes, just set-up a photobucket account so here's hoping it works: Cheers Den
  23. Just wanted to give a mention to Steve Walkers Bodyshop near Bathgate for doing an excellent job painting and fitting a WRC rear spoiler to my Hawkeye STI. Used them after reading the various mentions from other forum members especially Gus - cheers Den
