Hi Pity it wasn't needing a rear bumper - I have a pre face lift one here in 406 silver complete with the brackets. Only looking for the £25 I paid BigChap for it as well! I got it for my sons car not realising that there was a difference between pre-face lift & facelift rear bumpers as wll as the front of the car - doh! Bigchap might still have some of the parts you need left over as he broke the full car - think he has a list of what's left in the for sale section. Den

Maybe a 'wee scoosh' of windscreen de-icer would help. Not had the problem on mine so far so can't say if this would work but it did help with a shed padlock :-) Den

Hi I have used them regularly since 2002 for new cars & servicing without any problems as have other members of my family. Cheers Den

Hi It wasn't so much that folk were saying that the harnesses would cause death but more that if you were using them in a road car with no cage or they were fitted incorrectly that this could contribute to your chances of being killed in an accident - As I said I and many others have gone ahead and fitted them. Here's one of the longest threads on the topic but doing a search in 'Scottish Scoobies' on 'Harnesses' will get you a few more if your bored and looking for some reading http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtop...mp;hl=harnesses Cheers Den

Well I went down the route of installing Sabelt 3 point harnesses but still have the original seats in my Hawkeye STi. The harensses I went for are the removeable type so you can still use your rear seats if required - they are fixed to the front and rear seat belt anchor points (fronts use eye bolts & rears use the sabelt supplied longer bolts). IIRC these cost me about £65 for a pair via Ebay and the seller turned out to be Sabelt selling off excess stock. Installation took around 30-40 minutes for both harnesses. If need be I can look up part numbers etc. For reference you may also want to do a search for previous posts on harness installs in road cars as there are a few folks who do not believe this is a good idea because "you might die in an accident", etc & a fair few who have gone ahead and fitted them. Not sure if this is of much help. Cheers Den

I found this article on the Scooby Mods forum (think it'a a N.America site) ref. repacking/regreasing STI struts: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/04_sti_re...trut-t9972.html - think it's the same problem Wonder if this would cure the problem and help those with 'Out of Warranty' cases? Den

I fitted the full rally graphics to my Hawkeye STi when I got it just under 2 years ago. I wasn't sure if I would like them once fitted or how long I would keep them on but...... ...they are still on the car. I sourced the kit via fleabay and fitted them myself over a weekend - worked for me!! I appreciate that graphics are not to everyone's taste but it's your choice - as said you can take them off easily enough. Den

Yo Not sure if it's a classic or newage you have but anyway, have a look on this site: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/rear_brake_rotors-t477.html We changed both the front & rear discs & pads on my sons classic & it was a straight forward enough job - even cleaned & painted the calipers at the same time Den

In the above link, these are the belts & how they are fitted in my STI. When looking at getting harnesses, I exchanged comms with Sabelt about where to mount them, safety in road car, etc and before I bought them I checked with my insurer & they had no issues but reminded me they would not cover me if I was going to use the car on track, speed trials, etc. Today, I have been phoning around for renewal quotes & no-one has had any problems when I advised them about having the harnesses fitted. If they were illegal in road cars then surely the insurance companies would not cover you? Den

big den replied to micra_wrc's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Ed Just wait until they are sent out & perhaps whoever receives No.209 would be happy to swap with you - if you don't ask, etc., etc. Den -
You might get some info on this forum: http://www.type-ra.co.uk/vB/index.php You'll need to search in the Project, modifications & How to guides section I guess. I got some useful info when working on my son's WRX brakes. Den

Warning For Those Who Live In Or Around Arbroath...

Wow - more Smokies in Arbroath!! Think about it!! Den -
I could do with finding out how to transfer video to dvd - I've got loads of old video from as far back as the early 80's when ITV used to show highlights of the British & World Rally Championships. Managed to swap the recordings from Betamax to VHS a few years back just before my old Betamax video player finally ceased to function. Think I'll go dig some of them out & give them a wee play through. Den
