As per title, wondering if any one has fitted an S9 WRC Style replica rear spoiler to either a Blob or Hawkeye? If yes, I'm interested in opinions regarding look, weight, did it change the handling, any problems with paint cracking at fins, etc. And, did you have it painted all one colour or with the black fins & inside as per current SWRT WRC car? Cheers Den

[] Forgot how good those earlier Celicas looked in full rally livery. I can remember watching these in action on the 1986 Scottish Rally. In pic 311 where it seems to be in it's display position that looks to be a Lancia Integrale in Martini Livery next ot it. I'd have a replica Rothmans MK2 Escort if the funds were available and/or an Opel Manta 400!! [H] Den

Well I'm probably gonna get pelters but so what..... I've had 6 Impreza Turbo's since 1998 and have run every one of them on normal unleaded with no problems whatsoever. I have not experienced flat spots and the cars always feel responsive and fast enough for me. The last 3 have been UK STi's. One of the earlier cars was a company car that I did ~28K miles in a year with no issues. Dealers I've used for sales & servicing have told me there is no issue with using this fuel. Each to their own. Den

If it's the plastic clip with the nut moulded into it you are talking about you can get them from your local Subaru Dealer Part Number 91086AA000 ~£1.10 each + vat. Den

I have exactly the same on my two front RE70's on my STi after 5.5K miles. Thought it was my driving style aswell. Is it worth having the geometry reset to fast road / grp N on the standard STi springs? Not sure I'm bothered about changing to Prodrive or Eibach springs. Den

When we were meeting up for the start of the September run, someone had brought various Subaru stickers with them at fairly good prices - think it was Sammy the Chamios? Will anyone have these with them on Sunday? Cheers Den -
That looked like a WR Blue Subaru rear spoiler that the camera was looking through at the start of the Edinburgh car parking feature. Wonder if the owner knew there was a film crew mullin around his Scoob!!! Den

Got this via another forum earlier today: http://www.online-sign.com/ Might be of use to some of you - not spent a great deal of time on it so far but apparently you can design & print your own signs and also some standard signs free!! Worth a look? Den

something doesn't seem right pricing wise here guys - got this off the main SIDC For Sale thread on CG Lock topic. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CG-Lock-The...sspagenameZWD1V If this is correct it's cheaper to order from this seller on ebay even though it's from the US!!!! Den

O/T New 5th Gear opinions on the new series
big den replied to STi_Bandit's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Not watched the 2nd program yet but the 1st was truly painful to watch. Was it just me or were they recycling a lot of ideas that had already been done on either top Gear or Vroom Vroom e.g the mini v's radio controlled car race, destroying a car with a digger and Tiff racing a plane in the EVO. I predict a big Channel 5 axe coming!! Den -

Colin was driving a Mk1 Escort to my surprise as I thought he would have been in his Mk2. Errochty was cancelled with about 10 2WD cars & all the 4WD cars still to go through after a spectator collapsed and the Rally Rescue Ambulance recovered him. As the Rally Rescue vehicle had left the stage they couldn't run any more cars & after around an hour waiting they decided to cancel the stage As I'd left Craigvinean before the 4WD cars came through I therefore, didn't see any Subarus or 6R4's being driven in anger on stage [:'(] Car was also mega filthy after the pretty poor condition of the Craigvinean parking field - I'd hate to have seen how bad it got later on when everyone was leaving. Saw a fair few Scoobs in the car parks at both stages - no doubt including a few of the folks from here. Den -
FFS do Americans have to whoop & cheer about everything!! All that was missing was one of them saying awesome!!

This sounds like a good plan although the weather isn't looking too hopeful. I haven't been to this rally for a few years but from memory if you arrive sharpish at the Craigvinean spectator parking area you didn't have to pay and if you were adventurous enough you could drive past the parking field closer to where the actual stage is. Does anyone know if this is still possible? If I get away early enough I'm looking at arriving at Craigvinean around 8.30-8.45. Den

I understood that all insurance companies pay into a fund to cover claims against uninsured drivers? Could be the link/info already posted. I take it that your insurance won't even support you with legal cover? I appreciate that you say Peter wasn't a named driver on your ploicy & was only driving the car with 3rd party cover via his own policy but it is still technically a no fault accident and I would have thought this would be covered under the circumstances. As already suggested, visit Citizen's Advice or if you have Legal cover via your home insurance or employer ask them. Hope it all works out!! Den

I'm hoping to go up for Craigvinean & maybe Errochty but not 100% sure I will make it yet. As far as I know the McRae family are actually competing this year and not only running as course cars. Understand they are running Colin, Alistair then Jimmy as 1st, 2nd & 3rd 2WD cars on the event. Den

SIR C.MCRAE AND FAMILY @ SPORTSTERS IN PERTH 30TH
big den replied to Andy N's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Has anyone got any more information on this event? Is it an 'open door' or do you need an invite / tickets? Obviuosly the McRae family must be heading down to Perth for this after the Rally. Anyone else thinking of taking in a stage of the Rally & then heading back to Perth for this? Den -
Got the Scoobyworld ones on my STI and although they are not as rigid (ooer missus) as the original Subaru UK ones & perhaps the Scott Lowe ones, they still do the job. Personal preference I suppose. Den

Why won't the insurance companies arrange for removal? If it gets stolen or parts nicked off it surely they'll have to pay out more!! FFS what do we pay our premiums for? Hope you get it sorted out Den

Marks & Spencer money are offering a Car purchase loan where you can defer up to 60% (depending on the term you choose) - 6.4% apr http://www6.marksandspencer.com/pages/defa...&Product=BP I do not work for M&S blah de blah...... or there a re a few Banks offering 5.7% Apr - northern rock, etc. Some Subaru dealers were offering a reasonable APR earlier in the year - don't know about just now though Den

If you check the Subaru UK site there seems to be a good few MY05 STi's & WRX's pre-registered on either a 55 plate (Dec 05) or 06 plate (~March 06). Prices vary and I'm sure there are further reductions available. I was lucky enough to get a good deal on an un-registered STi back in April i.e not pre-reg. Den

Yeh, Jimser from the rear view mirror that looked close m8 - 10 out of 10 to the sheep for it's cliff dive with double salco then , landing right side up & legging across the road in front of you!! Den

Excellent day - thanks to all involved in the organisation & to St3phen for leading the middle pace group. Nice to at last put faces (& cars) to some of the names on the forum. Den
