  1. I took mine on the last trip we did down there in September, just didnt publicise the fact that i took it on track when doing pax laps! A few of us will probably be there, be good to meet up with you all. Thats if we are not chewing on sand on a Gordan Brown package deal!
  2. Thats for the Replys will send Andy an email
  3. Yes you are mate, ripped off that is i can get a brand new hawkeye sti for 19k, that just proves what the vat man takes! My mate just got a 57plate wrx with ppp for less than 16k! We/you pay far to much as we know it but the Germans are now paying 19% equivalent VAT! SHOCKING! Looks like it was a good time, noticed the Cobb graphic on the first pic they bang out some serious Scoob lumps!
  4. Is it true he is the best mapper in the UK? Have an Apexi on a version 1 Sti that will need mapped in the new year once the mods are complete. Ive heard he has a son serving in the camp next to me in Germany? My England based mapper is prepared to live map my car on the Nurburgring would Andy F do this? Please advise.
  5. Jodie the leak is possibly the front oil seal on the crank! Common problem on classics iirc about 6quid from main dealer worth doing it anyway when you do the belt!
  6. Enduring solutions are devolping a replacement board for 97+ cars, the Apexi is your best route at the moment like Badger has said.
  7. WRX imports do NOT have forged internals only the sti models do!
  8. Nice piccies there.
  9. Cracking pics craigy stand by for an email.
  10. Welcome Dan, cracking motor that.[H]
  11. Gus its pretty easy on a classic mate, on the dvrs side remove the airbox and the bracket from the chassis leg. On the Pass side remove battery and wash bottle and you shold have enough room. The last few nights ive got expert at removing/refitting plugs trying to narrow my problem down! 12mm spanner for the coil packs remember the bolts are captive! Decent plug wrench etc and your away. If its to tight to get in with your tools you can always undo the bottom engine mounts and jack the lump up to clear the chassis leg on the pass side. I used a 3/8 drive without doing the latter.
  12. Still a cracking motor all the same classics look great in white.
  13. Cracking pics there, is the white one a Version 1 STi the reason i ask its got the V1 rear wing, if it is what number is it?

  18. Andy I touch goats.
  19. Mine does this and my mates Blobeye does it also. Mine is alot worse but i think its because of the alloy bonnet! Pretty nerving on the autobahn at 150mph lol
  20. Not sure if the UK insurance companys work the same as the German ones, but over here you can do a deal ie keep the salvage and get money to. They did this with my version 1. By the insurance estimates mine was beyond eco repair. I got it fixed by a bodyshop at a fraction of what the estimates that Subaru had given. 6500 euro through the insurance i got the labour done for 800 cash[] and the parts sourced from Glenburgie cost me £220. The insurance payed me 4600euro so i had quite a bit of change left.Maybe worth looking into mate.
  21. I used to have TXR80 on my (dare i say it) XR4i years ago, sold the plate with the car, gods knows what its on now.
  22. It was fitted to WRX STI version 3 and 4 and MY97 WRX mate, heres the website for future ref www.catherineandken.co.uk lots of info on there. I think the guy comes on here looking at his website.
  23. Dave K you I touch goats
  24. Col i would be demanding that they pay for the damage to the wheel!! Lucky escape there could have been alot worse as you are probably more aware than most! Good luck sorting them out.
  25. At least you walked out of it mate, hope you get her back on the road soon and the damage is not so extreme that its a write off. Although if its front and rear then maybe its better written off. I know the car is probably your pride and joy, if there is alot of damage it will never be the same even when repaired.
