Craig - yes I am PECO (Ross - wee guy) the other guy is RRS555 (Jason - big guy) it was his first meet last night and he owns the minted classic. The 2 young blokes are my cousins, Andrew is well chuffed that he learned to drive from a Scooby driver and I can definately say for sure that Douglas, who will start learnnig next year, will want you to teach him also! Cheers

This was only the 2nd meet I have been to and have enjoyed both, great fun and everyone is friendly and the Squirrel's knowledge of scoobies is something else! Brought my two young cousins for the run and they loved it - both Scooby daft and after last night future owners! The only problem I had was been trapped in GMACS slipsteam at the Hillington roundabout and almost going airbourne (again!) - need Teins methinks! Cheers.

It's a fair cop that will teach him! Still I have to say these guys are no good, a lot of people are getting done for minor offences there is a lot of serious crime out there, why were they hidding anyway? If anything they should be a visual deterrent. My mates dad was a taxi driver and they didn't do him any favours - and he was one of the good guys!

Meanwhile some old lady's purse is getting nicked - call me cynical but the roads are a police state - dirty bandits![:@]

Backbox wise TSL do a good range. I have a group n its got a 4" tail pipe - not too loud for everyday driving but sounds great when your in the mood. H&S have a good name also - basically your spoiled for choice best to turn up at the next local meet and hear the different exhausts that everyone has.
-
Green Cotton seems to be the one to go for - good luck!

It was my first meet and had a great time, everyone was really friendly and banter was good! I can still smell smoke / burned picnic table - worked a treat with the midges though! My car is a standard newage and last night the classics definately ruled, 2 in particular were so fast I thought I had accidentially put my car in reverse! [] Cheers.

That's a mean looking car - very nice!

Me too - my friends are rubbish, although one of my mates works for Morrisons and can get me a discount on a Rug Doctor! []

I had problems with Keith Michaels also - they wouldn't even quote me! I am 33 with 10 years NCB, 3 points - WRX with non standard back box only - I was very surprised by this as I had heard good things about them - it was an online request so maybe that's why but didn't bother phoning them after that. Elephant are good, but I found 'A-Plan' to be cheaper and offered a better deal / service - worth a shot - good luck!

Hello Stu enjoy the club
-
Very nice what a difference a set of flaps can make. Wouldn't mind a set of gold 18s myself, wife doesn't agree...........Doh!
-
Bad luck there - I know how it feels I was done last month - swines!

Sounds like sour grapes to me. Even though the car is an EU import it is a UK spec car. I go to the Eaglesham garage which is approved by subaru for servicing and repairing. Give them a phone and they should be able to advise you - 01355 302685 and ask for Ross McPhail.
-
Hello Ian. I also bought a WRX from Motorpoint last year. The first thing I done was to register the car with Subaru UK for warranty purposes you will need an EU Certifcate of conformity and a copy of the original invoice from Malta - Motorpoint will supply all of this usually within 4 weeks of purchasing the car if not chase them up. The car needs a service at 1000 miles should cost £100 roughly to change the oil then at 10,000 mile intervals thereafter and this will keep your warranty valid for the 3 years. I had all this confimed by Subaru Dealer so should be ok. I think the 3,000 mile intervals are only for those who love their cars very much and have a lot of money!

Its £400 for the STI flaps I got the prodrive flaps for £200 from Iain Grieve (10% discount) - bargain - LOL!
