Best day at work in ages .[] I de-flowered the factory carpark at 6:30 this morning [] Canteen staff didn't arrive , so no breakfast at 9:00 [] ... so I played in the carpark again [] Told we could go home at 12:00 [] ... played in the carpark again [] I howled with laughter as the smart-arses who said I was daft parking in the exposed upper carpark , couldn't get up the slope to get out of the underground carpark []- they are probably still there as I type this [] Al

I spotted these in the wee basket on the way out of Halfords , Braehead .... I recognised them from the chippy [] But later , my imaginary friend pointed me towards these guys...... ... you heard it here first []. . . yep ,hi-octane boosts [] Surely one twin-pack is better than the old 'one-and-a-half-bar' boost ...which left you with a sticky half-bar left over [] I think it is strictly import models only. . . so check first with your insurance co Al.

Chris , Do you think more power could be gleaned from the ... 1/ Cream 2/Ice-cream or 3/The P-Lee icecream/cream hybrid ? Oh ,and do you reckon a Boost-bar in the tank would work with my car ?. . . . . Or, should I go for the full-banana-fritter exhaust insert-kit ? Thanks for sharing your advice guys (sp) Al.

Running ON boost between mods fitted and being mapped!!!!!!!!!
ally-b replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
OK , this ain't a Scooby piston (it is from a Triumph motorcycle ) but it shows what can happen . This suffered meltdown because ignition-timing slipped causing massive pre-ignition (aka knock , det , pinking) Notice that the crown is burnt-through . The shiney surface is now like the surface of the moon . There are seize marks on the edges . Also think about where the molten metal may have gone - oilways , pump , cams . . . . Al. -
Running ON boost between mods fitted and being mapped!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more mate . I have already 'booked' my maws Clio to use to get me to work between getting uprated turbo and APS kit fitted next week , and visit to Andy-F for remap the following Monday . Also , just because it doesn't go bang when trying out new parts before remap , doesn't mean that damage isn't happening . As you point out, blistered melted plugs can break-up , Also piston-crowns and heads can get hairline cracks , valves/valve seats can get burnt , pitting on crowns and combustion chamber can also cause hot-spots which can lead to meltdown . Some of this damage can take weeks or months before disaster occurs. Impatience must have been the cause of many expensive engine failures . Al. -
Welcome aboard mate [Y] Leave your brain in the trough at reception [] - mind and put your name on it with felt-pen though - there's a few on here you'd not want to swap with . . . . . . . me for example [A] al.

I got word back from Andy-F this morning - I'm picking up uprated turbo next week [] I'm going to get Greers to fit it for me , and I'll get my APS cold air kit fitted at the same time . Andy is going to work his magic on my map to suit these upgrades on the 20th . Then. . . . . . Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha-haaa !!! [6] BTW my handling 'mods' only consist of Powerflex droplinks , STI carbon front strut-brace and a set of Toyo T1-S tyres [] I would like us to have a wee evening run like that every month , its getting lighter at nights again . Most topics for discussion by Glasgow branch can be dealt with , and then we can go for a drive - it is what unites us individuals in the club after all ! Anyone else like that idea ? Al.

We took the ex-MOD road to Faslane - stopping at the viewpoint to take in all the secrets and await the stragglers []Smoking brakes were the order of the day . We then headed down to Helensburgh pier carpark where we decided to go 'posh' and sit-in for grub 'cos it was Billyboys' Allys 13th [<)]. . . nothing to do with the sub-zero conditions [] We then went to a private racetrack where my old jalopy still managed to pull 125mph , with the gubbed turbo (0.6bar max), before my line was ruined and I had to slow down - I can only put it down to the other cars co-pilots choice of meal [] I hope we can have a few more 'meets' like this , instead of sitting about - the nights are getting lighter and I have loads of routes like tonights which we can do , 2hr round trip max for a meet night is ideal to get out on some great roads and also have a good laugh at the stops . I had a great night [Y] Al.

Hey Peter !, As I said the other night - I didn't expect the prizes to be quite as good as they have turned out to be [] so my suggestion of keeping the SWRT autographed gear for auction is now bombed-oot - I now want the Atkinson signed hat , and the ,Atkinson,Solberg and Sarrazin signed SWRT shirt to go into the raffle please [Y] This raffle has some really good prizes chaps (and chapesses !) dig-deep folks . PM fai17 or post here if you want tickets . . . remember - your name will be on your ticket in the draw - you don't need to be there on the night to win a splendid prize [] Al.
