  1. Not going to make TOTB, going away on holiday in a few weeks... will be following the results with great interest though, your car should be pretty damn competitive at the level its at I'd have thought. Cheers, Grant
  2. Re-live the joy of owning a late UK Turbo... buy mine!! Its already got all the mods you'd likely want (6-spd box, defi gauges, 338bhp etc), and only 53-54k miles too. Cheers, Grant
  3. That is wild. I can't wait to see how this thing does against all the other big boys, all the best at TOTB mate. Cheers, Grant
  4. Had real difficulty getting off the line matey, spinning through 1st and some of 2nd gear too... still managed to do a 13.2 @ 104/105mph though which wasn't too shabby given the conditions. Cheers, Grant
  5. Classic with the correct Newage bits and bobs make for the best package IMO... if I was to return to a newage, then I'd have another Hawkeye STi cause I absolutely LOVE the aggro front end on them. Cheers, Grant
  6. I was a Crail in my DBM Classic... had it on the strip too, what were you driving?? Cheers, Grant
  7. Hi there, just seeing if anyone in the Falkirk area is going to be up in Perth/Dundee over the next wee while?? My girlfriend left a pair of welly boots in a courtesy car we got from Ian Grieves and I'm not keen on the huge trip through and back just for a pair of boots... although, I'm also not willing to just sack them off since I've not long bought them and they weren't exactly cheap?! So I thought that if anyone from down that way was passing Grieves and coming up this way, then I could meet them and collect the boots?? Cheers, Grant
  8. Out of the cars you're considering, I'd probably go for the Focus RS. However, with that sort of cash burning a hole in my pocket, I'd be looking along the lines of a BMW 335d and then getting an Evolve Re-Map on the thing... mmmmm torque-tastic, but then you have already had a BMW. However although the service costs are slightly higher, they are at far longer intervals than most of the more focused stuff in your list so I think it'd even itself out to a negligable difference in the long run. Cheers, Grant
  9. As long as you can launch the Impreza properly then you'll find the same outcome, you'll beat him off the line and around about half to 2/3rds the way down he'll start to reel you in. Cheers, Grant
  10. Where you picking it up from Al?? Cheers, Grant
  11. ......depends on the UK Turbo. Cheers, Grant
  12. Never had a problem with Revolution before, pretty much had the same experience as The Glynster. Cheers, Grant
  13. How much are you looking to spend on the car, since that might give us a better idea what sort of models are within your grasp?? Cheers, Grant
  14. Hahaha, incorrect!! That the tosser with the Cusco WRX RA with the ECU that senses when you fit new mods and modifies itself accordingly... I think its crazy that an intelligent ECU like that never took off?! Cheers, Grant
  15. If it was the seals then oil would pass on the over-run, which Jim said isn't happening? Cheers, Grant
  16. If its still the same engine that Dave put in, then I'm pretty sure its got forged pistons etc fitted... the car was absolutely bang on back in the day (even when it was sitting on 19" wheels!!), remember it sitting in a dealers a wee while ago and someone sticking a thread up about it. Stick some photos and a spec list of the car up now mate. Cheers, Grant
  17. Who was the former owner on here? Got a username, further details, pics etc?? Cheers, Grant
  18. Seems a bit irish to me, buying a car for 4-5k and then buying a load of mods to make it a 6k car without the full list of bits fitted that my car has for c6k... but its your decision?! FAO people that have got in touch with me, if I decide to break bits off the car, then I'll stick a thread up in the For Sale section with details, prices and pics. Cheers, Grant
  19. No, not at all... just wish you'd been more up front about your budget to start with and I could have re-directed you to alternative cars at a level you'd be more comfortable with rather than showing you round/letting you drive my car; when there was little or no chance of you going through with the purchase. Cheers, Grant
  20. Aggressive... nah, could be in a Subaru Showroom back in 2003 mate, looks standard as hell. Apart from the brakes, and the exhaust, and the bonnet, oh and the front mount and the etc etc etc... You're going to need tyres with a bit more grip than that though, they'll light up pretty easily on full power I'd have thought!! Cheers, Grant
  21. I think it looks toss, seems to be mostly little chav idiots that have that sort of thing done round our way. Cheers, Grant
  22. It would be the easier option to sell as a package, but thus far all I've had is dreamers and hopeless part exchange offers. Had forgotten how irritating it can be to sell a car privately, hence why I'm considering selling the good bits for a few grand and accepting a decent trade in price for a 'standard' UK Turbo with 51k miles. LOL @ growing a pair... To be honest, was thinking about trading the car in the other day and had to pull myself away because I couldn't justify throwing all those mods away in trade price... not too fussed about taking the car off the road and removing the 6 speed set-up to replace it with a 5-speed set-up, although I realise it won't be the easiest job around, its a fair old chunk of cash sitting there that a garage won't give a toss if its there or not. Hmmm... that could be the way forward then, thought you were going PPG though mate? lol, thanks lads... but I need to get something more practical for daily use while I tip toe onto the property ladder, once I know where I am financially after that... there is a large chance I'll return to the fold, for the 7th time. Cheers, Grant
  23. Its had a new rear bumper at some point... thats a pre-facelift design. Cheers, Grant
  24. Ah right ok mate, I wasn't interested in the car.. more just to be nosey and use it as a rough yardstick to see how well/badly I've priced my car. Cheers, Grant
  25. Out of interest, whats the mileage on that car?? Cheers, Grant
