right 4 years of a mechatronics degree and watching scrapheap challenge, krypton factor, crystal maze and rolling about dads garage in the wee hours of the morning with all the spiders and moths i've finally bodged the sensor, luckily its normally closed and fans come on when conncetion is broken or earthed - good old toyota engineering was test running the car now and can safely boost to 1.13bar without overheating (ideally wanted 1.2 but keep getting fuel cut due to fault code) and the car will still overheat on fast idle whilest stationary. dont think the neighbours were impressed at fast idling the car in wee hours of morning with the mongoose poppin also set gain a bit lower and boost level lower; a bit longer to boost up but at least it does what it says on the tin also used a washer to stiffen the rad cap spring so hopefully will raise pressure thus boiling point of coolant... - will se how this works. learned one thing tonight -- after raggin the car - do not open the rad even with a huge wet towel ... burny!!! anyway - off tae bed, will more than likely sleep in but i'll defo be along after all this hassle - chasing the magic 310bhp+ zone...

i'm unfortuneatly doubtful as well: found this afternoon that my temp sensor on my rad is knackered and causing fault codes on the ecu resulting in the hyper protective toyota limp home mode and causing fuel cut at 0.98 bar gonna try and fix/bodge/borrow something early on but am doubtful as its a specific sensor according to the GT4OC - damn struans parts dept. closing early on a friday!!! definatley wont leave dundee till around 0900 ish as the scrappys dont open til 0800 on a sat.

yeah i'm in dundee. will be at dastek on saturday for the rolling road too. i still have the receipt (only bought it 2 or 3 weeks ago) - i'll dig it out - iirc it was around 45ish but i maybe wrong... so anything near that would do. i also have some heat reflective/insulating and sound insulation mat left - i used this to lag my chargecooler and provide a barrier/air gap for my downpipe and alternator snorkel - and it really works well - no more heatsoak - might be good for your top mount interwarmer... check out my website - work in progress for how to's... to see what i did ....

yeah that wrc wannabe focus was really wide .... haha - that stretch of road was the best, tyres got nice and sticky and the previous snow had cooled the brakes -1st time i had the GT4 near limits, 2nd and 3rd gear all the way and on those long sweeping corners punched up into 4th :shock when i saw the speedo - brakes then blued haha. karps, your navigation skills are great, the RAC map was wrong - must have been the snow affecting you - TheSquirrel555 - was it you that i over took and pulled in qucik, sorry if so, i was 2ft in the air and had to pullin since i couldnt scrub the speed off for the corner :shock -that rolling hill bit was awsome, car was sideways, airborne and the lsd was working overtime, plenty of 2nd gear shennanigans more of the same please. i do think we have the best driving roads - simply great. the unhinged lot proved to be quite, err unhinged - as soon as i fettle some goodies on the 'four i'll get a little unhinged too :lol Amiral, good to meet you again, need you to show me the roads a'la MLR open day - also give me a shout when ur going to hot marques, seems like you could offer a few tips and tricks (i've still a track virgin). cheers dudes, Nyle

Yeah !!! thanks guys - was an awsome day.... think we got every type of weather, sun splitting pavements, monsoons, hail, 2"snow and drifts !! driving was great - better route than loch lommond last year, got lost a couple of times but regained convoy at the petrol station near ballater. The GT4, although completely standard gave a good account for itself, especially with the sh!!ty mixed tyres which made for some interesting handling.... best bit was when i was behind a red scob and infront of a blue one (both classics) on route back in stage 3 - TD Focus trying to have a go was a laugh, awkward 8ugger so he was, hes wife soon sorted him out though after he caaught some air :lol. thanks again, nyle -looking forward to the next one!

Homer mechanic wanted to fit TRD springs to my GT4 WRC and also replace the imfamous fig 8's and lower arms. I'd do this myself but dont have a 3 legged bearing/bear puller or strong ball joint splitter (bolt type). So can anyone advise of a mechanics or help or lend me/hire the above tools? I'm free all this week apart from monday night as i'm on scotsport cheers, Nyle
