  4. "if you dont spin...you aint trying hard enough" and like my lancer the gt4 can pirouette gracefully too lookin forward to the next one and think i'll get some proper track tyres on wheels that fit (as calipers were too big)... hopefully see your gt4 there too for some fun
  5. the corner after dufus i spun twice, 1st on my 1st solo outing after warm up (cold tyres i think - back end just went) and 2nd when i had my mate in car and tried too hard as i was able to carry some speed through dufus and clipped the white line sending the car ina spin. in total 3 spins with 2 offs in mud - was quite fun although after my hi speed spin you may have noticed my entry into the hairpin was much more reserved making sure i was in 3rd before the braking point! would be great to get any photos or vids as my camerman was in car at the time, typical  looking forward to the next one! cheers, nyle
  6. ok then 95mph... suppose thats what happens when u miss the braking point....tbh i dont know what speed i was doing, my copilot mentioned 95mph but i just wantes an attention grabbing headline .... i was chuckling after it, but certainly not during, more luck than skill ragaining it, although i did allow a selfindulgent smile defo gonna get some mount for my camera for the car for next time
  7. Hi! the guy i spoke with (sorry didnt get your name) - can you send me that vid of my 100mph brake/gearchange spin at the hairpin, cheers just uploading some vid now to my ftp server..... although my torrents of this weeks stargate sg1, atlantis, spooks and bsg are taking up some bandwith cheers to the organisers, john, wheelsaround dudes and the younger instructer who took me out for a few early laps - great fun today and glad my track cherry has popped, cant wait for the next...
  8. thanks john, got an email at 0840hrs with 2docs and an xls file regards, nyle
  9. so, whats the story and format as i have never been to one of these sidc or track days...? i havent received any info other than a receipt from sidc and paypal - is there no ticket, driver numbers or anything - do i just turn up on the day and off i go ontrack? i presume u can hire helmets - if so how much? track prep so far: complete coolant change and checked all hoses whilest changing my temp sensor, topped up charge cooler too lagged my dp and exhuast set up camber/4wd alignment checked all hubs and suspension set up boost for a very stable 0.95bar with very little overshoot (was at 1.27bar which made 352/336 - but got some knock and temps were a bit high) ran tank empty of tesco 97ron and filled with ultimate and octane booster arranged for slicks for my 17s and/or rain tyres if it rains (forcast says so...) with the extremley helpfull ronnie@wheelsaround got 2 piece discs and mintex 1155 pads to fit saturday or may just use standard oem ones for track abuse (have about 60% pads left) installed braided brakelines changed gearbox oil and changed the magnatec oil that struans toyota put in for some millers 10/60 fully synth - just realised this when i picked up my new rad temp sensor - i wrongly assumed they'd use castrol 10/60 fully synth - oil smelled ok and looked fine however - only 2.5k road use luckilly yet to fit oil catch can and fabricate new intake/heatshield - also got some exhuast lagging left to do - not too easy on the old jack and stands in situ! also going to give it a good interior gutting/clean, exterior wash polish and wax and some rainx anyone got any other suggestions, advice on things to do for car/me for track prep - really looking forward to this but 1st time trepedation is setting in.... cheers, nyle
  10. thanks but would need a "set" if a different size + think 225 might be too wide for 7.5" rims cant believe finding cheap or used tyre(s) for track use is soo difficult! seems finding track tyres in 18s might be easier though i'm not too keen on using my new 18" alloys on track got the boy at wheelsaround on the case but he's only got slicks and knowing my luck it will rain on sunday!
  11. i have the same style of locking wheel nuts on for my "spare" alloys - dunno if its the same spacing between nodules though, i can measure and take a photo tomorrow if u like and if the same u can pop through and use it. otherwise what about using "easy-outs" (or whatever they are called) - they wee screw things that u drill/tap that are ant-clock wise and are used to remove rounded or worn nuts/screws - machine mart and B&Q sell them.
  12. anyone anywhere got any part worn 215/45/17 tyre(s)? was wanting to use my spare set of alloys/tyres for the upcoming track day if it rains and the slicks are no good but need to replace my fr khumo thats gone down to canvas - anything will do really and will take 1, a pair or a set. cheers
  13. just pm'd you if theres still space
  14. well i decided to keep my 17s for trackday and winter use - but will eventually get round to selling them on ebay or round the forums (they can fit scoobs too so ideally want a set of road tyres on them and keep a set of slicks for trackday use. currnetly i have a pair of hankooks and a pair of khumos, but one of the khumos has badly worn on the inner edge exposing a small patch of belt, hence needs replacing. kuhomos and the hankooks were fairly decent too - i never chose them however as they were already on the car when i bought it. got p-zero assimetrico yellows on my 18s and they are just amazing, best tyre i've used so far - and bloody should be for the price!!
  15. well afterfinally having the time free, car ready and chance to book i've finally managed to get a slot (cheers john) this is my 1st ever trackday so any help, pointers and advice much appreciated - also any passenger laps to show me the ropes or folk willing to passenger in my car much appreciated too  got some slicks arranged via mike at wheelsaround (very helpful dude ) - but am also on the lookout for 1, a pair or a set of 215/45/17 used tyres. cheers, nyle
  16. Aberdeen: A wee bit of advice on the roads and travelling Got an interview at 9.30 on wed morning. am travelling up from dundee to aberdeen uni @ king st. / regent walk. Here can anyone suggest best route once i get to aberdeen and are there any roadworks or delays. cheers.
  17. thanks guys, some nice places.
  18. am taking the old dear out since she's had a difficult time recently and she really likes going out to the country for a drive and country pub lunch/dinner. was wanting a nice country pub or hotel that does nice food with a good atmosphere - say no more than 2 hrs (normal driving ) from dundee. was thinking maybe as far north as aviemore, west as fort william perhaps even mallaig and no further south than galashiels. any good reccomendations? cheers.
  19. i rember that well, as with the lpg squad car and the events beforehand

  22. whens the next dundee meet; been a while now...and this will there be a roll call
  23. ET33-37 depending upon how the spokes are - if the bulge out or are flattish they et35 will be ok. but they scoob is around et45-49 is it not. hence 10mm spaceers i presume - www.trackstore.co.uk do the longer lugs, spacers and the spacer kits.
  24. thnak funk u have said imreza like ... i honestly thought u were going for a GT4.... legacy GTB then is it sir? or Justy
