I agree, the bugeye lights are hideous as standard but, if like Sheepie you change them to something like Morettes, the look is transformed. Plus, bugeyes of the X and Y registrations are very good value as everyone wants the new style plates. The only other advice is to think in advance what you would like to do to 'a' car when you get it, modification wise. Then try and get a car with as many laready on it. It WILL save you loads. For your car, I would say Subaru for the proper WR1 grill first before trying one of the copies.

Its the downside to tuning Paul. You uprate the engine, and the gearbox lets go. You uprate the gearbox and the next thing to be hit will be the driveshafts/bearings/bushes. But, that all comes down to your driving and what level of mechanical sympathy. you have for your car. The only consolation I can give you is that I am running the same torque on my 6 speed (including standard clutch) with no problems. But, I never do fullbore first gear starts! (I wait until 2nd! [] )

Good choice to get a UK one. It has the 1-5 gears ratios of a classic TypeR and the 6th gear ratio is the same as the UK Classic 5 Speed 5th gear (25mph/1000rpm). Best of both worlds!

Saw Dunks 8.00pm-ish tonight, giving me a funny look in my Ford Escort (train station car!) as I passed him slowly whilst looking interested at the car.( Oh no, not another nutter in a GTI! I have tried to think of good reasons (excuses) for my lowly 371bhp this time round, what do you think? The cat ate my dump valve. Something must be loose as I DID have a misfire at 4000rpm. I have 'mega-rom' , which means individual maps per gear, rather than an average. 6th & 5th Gear (used for the RR) would now be lower boost/less agressive that 1 to 4, the accellerating gears.(Need to confirm that - but sounds good!) There was a dead horse in the road and I could not get past There was leaves on the rollers. I had a dodgy kebab the night before. All credible reasons in my book.

Been waiting to see if the 8th clashes with anything and unfortunately it coincides with my Kids footie party for families of the team, and the kids really want to go.
