  1. i have had two dealer experiences one was in plymouth (now closed down) and got charged 200 quid for y car to stand their for 3 days even though i told them what the problem was (electrical wires to fuel pump) couldnt fix myself as i didnt have my test equipment with me, took it elswhere and was fixed as per my instructions and fixed strait away 2nd experience (have used on moor than one ocasion) Lucas of Mansfield Main SUBARU dealer absolutley tip top they have been in business a very long time as main dealers and i cant fault them they are very knowledgeable a bitpricey but im moor than happy with aftersales etc and they are great with advice as well, if i had the money id take my car their without quible all the time however as above i like to do ost of my own work on my car that way i know that things get done etc and i get to know a lot about the car as im going through it (plus it keeps expences down) and i get to meet people and at the same time bug them lol like 22B Andy who are very knowledgable/experienced and help me out loads i like to think of myself as a 4* hainz machanic if it has 5*'s on the page i get the watchfull eye of my m8 who's got 50 yrs experience as a machanich to keep an eye on me lol
  2. quote from SWRT This morning was good, but then it is so, so disappointing for me and the team to have this problem and to have retired on the first day” said Petter Solberg. “Into stage six I hit a small rock on the inside round a left hand corner, and after that the front suspension dampers just broke. Oil came on the screen, and a bit caught fire under the bonnet. We were lucky to put it out before any real damage, yet again the car let petter down after setting some of the fastist times for the 3rd successive rally the guy needs some lck before the season runs away to much
  3. Yet another set back for petter, retired on the 1st day atkinson in 5th though
  4. Im back out their later this year although im on a ship we have totaly different kind of dangers been out their numerouse times since 98/99 (when weapons inspectors were kicked out) and it doesnt seem to get any better the threats just get wider ranging
  5. PMSL i find myself (force of habit) waving when im in my other car (Pug 206) now that gives the scoob driver a confused look lol most peeps are too busy looking for speed camera's nower days
  6. if you had a end product to show wich as peep's have said was user friendly with pics then im sure i would be interested however having a scoob and over compensating (obviously lol) i would probably like to see a bigger frame/screen available as well lol
  7. this is 22B andys method of how to change clutch but it tells you how to get the engine out as well to replace clutch, take the engine out..... remove battery first, intercooler (and mounts), radiator, header tank, carbon canister (plastic canister on the drivers side front) remove the mount too, air box and starter motor. fuel pipes and thin boost controll pipes. once the intercooler is out of the way, get some WD40 and spray it along the joint between the engine and gearbox (sometimes it can be tightly stuck together) so doing this now will give it time to soak in. also spray the exhaust downpipe nut and bolts liberaly and then undo them. remove alternator belt and then the alternator. there are 3 bolts behind the PAS pump pulley... undo those then follow the pipes over the manifold and you'll see 2 10mm bolts securing them to the manifold, undo those. lift the PAS pump out of the way and tuck it over to where the air box used to be. now undo the 3 bolts that fix the PAS pump mount to the block and remove it. look to where the battery was and you'll se 2 plugs with loads of wires, split the plugs and then undo the 10mm bolt that fixes the plug mount to the body. if your car has air con, there are 4 14mm bolts securing the pump mount to the block, undo those and move the pump over to where the battery used to be. you will need to rotate the pump as you move it so it rests upside down otherwise it wont go. remove the spring thats ontop of the gearbox. As you look at the side of the gearbox where the starter was, you'll see a large allen keyed plug (10mm) remove that plug. find a bolt that is about 3 inches long, or more, but has the same size thread as one of the cambelt cover bolts (u can use a cambelt cover bolt but try not to bend it)... behind the bung is a shaft that the clutch fork pivots on.... in the end of the shaft is a threaded hole... screw the thin bolt into it and pull the clutch shaft out (may be a tad tight). once you have it out, get hold of the clutch fork and lift it upwards to disengage it from the release bearing. now you are set to remove the engine mount bolts and bell housing bolts. there are 2 14mm nuts on the bottom of the bell housing and 3or 4 14mm bolts up the sides and top. I fix a chain to one of the bolt holes where the PAS pump mount was and the other end of the chain to block near to where the starter was. you may need to remove the throttle body or the idle controll valve to prevent damage when the chain tightens. as you lift the engine, use a jack and a block of wood under the gearbox and lift it up with the engine (about 2-3 inches). once the engine is out the gearbox will rest on the cross member once the jack is removed. remeber to lift the gearbox up again before you refit the engine. (makes life easier)
  8. i was under the impression that we drove on the left and used lanes to the right for overtaking then at the earlyest oputunity you were suposed to get back into the left hand lane oph by the way its only illegal to overtake on the left if you deliberatly change lane with the aim of "undertaking" if your already in the lane to start off with its not illegal
  9. starting to suspect sabotage cant see this many things going wrong over this amount of time would realy like to see the hawkeye win a world rally

  15. Dave channel did say subaru were going to make the decision in April as to when to when the WRC car will make its first debute but (cant remember the drivers name) last years winner in the new shaped scoob was going to be passing info back to prodrive after the rally and two weeks ago in Motorsport news the new scoob had already won a rally forgot and did notice thought that with the next rally (Mexico) has some very high altitude stages of which only the impreza engine is suited for some reason it doesnt lose as much powere with the thin air as the others

  19. i believe you have individual coilpacks one on the back of each spark plugg You need to go down the side of the engine take the air box out the way (drivers side) and you will see two wires going down the side of engine over the cam cover onto a black piece of plastic with a 10mm bolt head (off the top of my head may be 12mm) that is your coilpacks hope this helps
  20. PMSL i used to ski but now iv gone over to the Dark side LOL
  21. just wanted to ask a few questions to any snowboarder's amongst us iv been snowboarding a while and a friend was telling me of somthing he called a "powerflex bush" that goes between binding and board it gives alot moor power in your foot when carving but most of all (which would help me) it gives moor clearence off the board i already have a "wide board" with the size of my feet but my toes still hang over the edge does any one know what these spacers might be called iv searched for everything and come up blank ?
