  1. you can have a bung made for the zorst this will stop alot of noise although if its baught by mail order you may need to do the mesuring yourself on behalf of the suplier this may bring up discrepencies but i think you get the picture just wondering what your after gains wise if you look at long established tuning companies they have alot of info on the websites which is all near enough generic if you take out the name brands etc just to give you a idea what i mean try looking at the following andy forrest http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/58901.html or TSL http://www.tsl-motorsport.co.uk/newsite/pr...2&detail=45 powerstation http://www.powerstation.org.uk/subaru_tuning.asp try looking for the common denominators like downpipe centre and back box high flow filter highflow fuel pump and remap you dont have to do whats suggested or use these retailers but see if they can help you decide what you should do next with expected gains etc Hope this helps
  2. I have it booked in for the 19th so il leave some feedback on here as to what i think all im having done is the geometry/alignment settings unless i get talked into somthing moor lol i have been told you can realy tell the difference afterwards il be sure to let everyone know after in this thread.
  3. Had a word with they guys at TSL and iv got the car booked in for 4 wheel geometry/alignment as they said their 4 wheel geometry gives even tyre wear so it hasnt had any alignment treatment from them iv heard a few things about these geometry settings and i must say they all seem to be good hopefully il be a even happier bunny soon
  4. Lol know what you mean but i have had a friendly encounter with them i had a blow out on M42/M40 on sliproad at night and it was blooming scarey as every car and lorry seemed to get closer and closer to me as i was trying to change N/side front and the came along with lights evryone gave me a wide birth they even helped with light etc i was glad of their assistance but yes i know what you mean about the speeds they go at but i think thats due to the fact they drive big Landy's and thats a eco speed for them lol
  5. if you want a quick read i find andy forrest's web site informative without being too indepth lol give it a try see what you think it may sort out any q's you havent thaught of with respect to choosing or runing a turbo http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/16307.html and this page might help as well lol http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/58699.html
  6. youv just reminded me about my local ASDA round about lol its like rusian roulet lol you either all sit their in a mexican standoff or people dont care that someone else is already on the (mini) roundabout and just pull straight out in front of you whilst your going around it. i dont know why they put it in less than 50 yds up the road is a major roundabout they had two ways of easing congestion 1. make all cars turn left and go too the major roundabout if they wanted to turn right theyd come back on their selvs 2. make another exit at the bottom of car park for motorists wanting to get out onto a different main road but oh no we have to put up with a mini roundabout from hell which seems to mesmarise people i swear most ASDA customers have no idea how to negotiate a mini roundabout lol "give way to traffic already on the roundabout lol"
  7. as above i think one of previouse owners of my 04 STI has spent alot of money on the car so im assuming its had some allignment or geometry done i got my first set of tyres last week the front were going bold on the outside edges of both front tyres after 300 mile trip to work down the motorway i think the edges look they will go the same way and the last lot took 4000 miles (that iv had the car for) to do it in (although they were ok when i baught car i didnt look too hard at them to see about faults just checked tracking etc when buying) so im wondering if any one has prodrive settings, or i know the car has had alot of TSL work done so TSL geometry settings and if they can confirm wheather the outside edge of tyres has worn away pretty quickly by the way the rears are fine lol and good for 4-5K befor anywhere near the wear marks and even wear all over i just dont want to be writing of tyres if i dont need to lol any comments would be greatly apreciated tyres iv just put on are Toyo Proxi's T1-R's
  8. i usualy travel the M5 almost full length to get home at the weekend and i can tell you iits far less stressfull late at night than during the day with all the "outside lane rangers" iv also noticed that when im driving the scoob most peeps see me coming or at least when they check their mirror and notice im behindf them they move over when im in the 206 they just sit their and dont move till i end up getting a little bit closer to them to get them to move over anyone using M5 at bristol wil know what i mean here their are 4 lanes northbound but the 4th lane starts by the hard shoulder so everyone on the whol M5 stays in the lane they are in only a few lorries move over and its not that steep a incline for it to be a crawler lane so usualy the outside two lanes are packed and the inside two are scarcly used where as further on theres a crawler 4th lane going up a hill but this lane starts in the outside and all lanes are directed left its usualy 50/50 as to outside lane rangers moving over or just staying their at 65 to pee me off as yet again usualy the nearside two lanes are desolate as for people not getting into lanes early enough this is a big problem as well i usualy get into lane quite early but if its quing traffik and no one lets me in i wind the window down shout "im fully comp and no claims are protected hows your insurance?" this usualy gets me in to the lane i want very harsh and brash i know and i know i shouldnt but somtimes people are so ignorant i aplaud lorry drivers and vans that straddle two lanes to stop peeps speeding all the way up the closing lane then barge in if every one followed the "move to left when you have finished overtaking" then the motorways would be alot clearer hence i travell at night lol the ony thing that puts me off at night though is when a section of motorway is closed with no prior notice and they havent got diversion signs out to redirect peeps lol it takes my tom tom a while to start up and locate where it is so somtimes adds alot moor time on than nesseary Rant over lol
  9. LOl hey guys and girls im fine back in the U.K. at the moment unforseen but hospital are just making last checks to confirm i have collitis lol so im official not full of s£$t lol. Unfortunatly i sold scoob in May after 8 gloriouse years and 230.000 miles i put a 2nd hand gearbox and new clutch and decided to retire it from active service lol i hope the new owner has as much joy out if as i did lol But I didnt let it go without buying a new new lol, got myself a 04 STI WRC Blue with morrets and a TSL 333 pack on it and front splitter which at the moment is knocking on 39K so its a meer pup PMSL but im not intendidng to use it as a everyday car i got a 206 HDI TD to take the weight of the sholders of this one lol and i know befor anyone starts a 206 isnt to everyones tast but if it was good enough for Richard Burns and Marcus Grunholm all be it not a oil burner then its good enough for me lol
  10. grade ahave been good to me in the past they have a e-bay website and a web adress below im shore moor peeps will have a few moor for you to sift through soon http://www.gradea-subaru.co.uk/ http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Grade-A-Subaru__W0QQ_armrsZ1
  11. unfortunatly unless it happens to people themselvs they always seem to think it will never happen to them personaly im sick of seing people driving round on the phone when a headset is 1. free with the phone or 2.£10 off ebay ( i have three of them so ones always charged one for the missus one for me) by the way how is everyone lol?
  12. just watching the re-run on Dave of last nights highlight's Henning solberg lost his 3rd windscreen of the season i almost choked on my tea when he got interviewed at the end of the stage he said "its better with the screen in than without but im starting to feel glad that i am sponsored by a windscreen company" it was all in the delivery PMSL
  13. i hadnt had my new scood 2 days and got pulled due to front numberplate (not my fault baught car like it) he seen me turned around and chased me then pulled me i got a £30 on the spot even though afterwards i was pointing out that i couldnt get a new numberplate on the green slip as i didnt have the full log book and was clearly displaying proper one in the windscreen he wanted to do me for rear as well because it said "If in doubt flat out collin Mcrea" on it wasnt a good start to the new scoob ownership
  14. Shot in the Dark here im assuming its a new age (03 - 05) if so and i think this is the same on 01-02 cars their is a "inteligent" charger in the car it replaces the charge then stops charging the battery hence supposedly giving you moor power back (the same as turning aircon off) i remember when this started happening loads of people kept buying batterys etc all that was happening was that the battery that were being put on the cars were not fully charged in the first place so the charger took the initial state of the battery and said to itself this must be a fully charged battery! and only charged it to this point the tracker has its own battery that will last for 3 days on its own however will still start to draw current from battery when it drains but not as much as people think Try disconecting battery then fully charging with a good healthy charger to its full point then replace the battery and see if this makes any difference
  15. quick update 3 different car specialists looked at car to code the key and couldnt do it even changing the chip in the key but it still wouldnt code took to a friendley place near me (Mansfield Notts) and they managed to code it no probs although they did quote me £55 plus VAT if they couldnt code it and i wanted one of their keys codeing
  16. have you tried getting someone to sit in rear passenger seat behind driver and do a 0-60 test? i know it sounds daft but you can get used to the acceleration and your body works out how to adjust to you putting your foot down just putting some un suspecting idot ahhem sorry person in the passenger seat and watching their head fly forwards and backwards as you change gears usualy lets you know if theirs a prob or you have just got used the car i got 220K miles out of mny old classic and that never lost power it just had a few faults now and agian but i religiously serviced it and it was still going strong when i sold it just the old perishables like coilpacks, Sensors etc that went on mine
  17. Right guys a quick update as their were a few questions in general on this i baught a used key on ebay £10.00 plus £3.00 postage got a local auto locksmith coming round and because im local he's charging me £40 to get a new blank blade cut it and program the sigma remote and the seperate chip in the key to the car so in all it should cost £53 which is a little over a quarter of the price of the original key alone from main dealer the key blade should arrive today/tomorrow and coded by friday had problems with normal coblers/locksmith agents as none of them could source a blank subaru blade but auto locksmith had no problem he had this problem no end of times cheers for your help guys
  18. As above REG *** WRC nice car i was in my pug on my way to work nice car matey made me wish i was in mine as aircon works on the scoob
  19. think they said about £25 for the codeing but that was off the top of his head as its just under 30mins but i think my local car electrical place did it last time for my classic for about the same price as well its worth it as the keys that are coded on that day are the only ones that can be used on the car so if somone had your old key they cant use it after hope this helps
  20. LOL or maybe its a double bluff MS could be the stig but at the end they didnt want you to know that its actualy him, the first corner he took the stig's line which clarkson points out all the time that F1 drivers take a different line into that corner ahh the mystery carries on PMSL
  21. cheers guys im just going to get a used key get a new blade from my local lock smiths etc and see about recodeing i recon it should all cost less than 70 quid thier is no way im paying 200 just for a key lol bit steep if you ask me thanks guys
  22. I had a 93 to 96 shape impreza turbo 2000, i had some back issues and the seats were not supportive etc so i got the seats from a 2001 WRX the front and rear are direct fit although you will have a extra bolt left from each front seat the rears hook on at the top and at the bottom they wont reach the bolt holes but you will find wax seals covering bolt holes that you can use they are the same size looking through the rear windscreen you will see about a inch of the rear seat foam if you get som fabrick this can be easily coverd oh and the newer seats are alot lot lighter as well as moor suputive you need to keep your old seat belt sockets and change them over to your new seats
  23. Thanks mate might give it a wirl even if it goes wrong i cant be that far out of pocket lol
