  1. Thanks for the replys, makes for some interesting reading. Cheers Carl. You've definately gave me some food for thought. You've managed to answer quite a few of the things I've been looking into, spec.. etc .. I was thinking about changing cars after the year , maybe importing is something i should look more into.
  2. Thanks Imy. Been looking about that site for a wee while now, just don't know what model to go/look for. Only been thinking about it since my mate offered me his 555 but i don't know what the best model for me would be. I'm not sure if looking for an RA is a better option.... Seems i just missed out on an STi RA after looking at the f/sale section...looked the part aswell.. Thought I'd try on here to see what peoples views were or what they recommended... ah well... The search continues.
  3. Good effort buddy. Looked like a cracking day out Loving the 6R4..
  4. Only thinking about it at the moment folks but i was pondering selling my scoob for an STi. The only problem is........which one ? ver 2, ver 3 ver 4 , STi, STi RA, 555 ?? It would need to be in the 4.5-6k-ish bracket for a start . I had thought about an STi RA but I'm not sure how many are around or is it better to try and import one. So many questions... which has the strongest engine , when did the blue printed engines stop( is it better to find one of these), what ones have dccd. What other things is it worth looking into ? I'm trying to narrow down my search IF i go through with it and decide to sell mine. So far I've been looking for info on the sti ra or a 555 ( as my mate at work is selling his) What do you peeps think ? cheers.
  5. Good to hear
  6. I'd try it with the mid section first. Just remember to give the car a good roasting to heat it up. Obviously no good if the mot guy doesn't test it straight away though. Let us know how you get on.
  7. Thanks Andy... A very fitting tribute.
  8. Congratulations Billy. Fantastic news
  9. Awritey John.. Good to meet up with you on sunday buddy and say hello to Jake for me. It made my day having the wee man there
  10. Try contacting Gus the Bus. I'm sure he knows someone that could help Good luck !
  11. Don't like the sound of that.
  12. That's the one. And it barely turned a wheel at the Jim Clark. It was smashed between scrutineering and the start of the rally. Shame really.....It used to look and go very well.
  13. The first picture for me Gus. I like the tints all the way round and these don't look too dark
  14. First class Gus. The wheels look spot on buddy and it's certainly looking slammed lol Just remember and stay away fi me after your trip to the east coast. I dinnae like the thought of being left behind by the Stealth Bomber.. The grin factor will be awesome. Enjoy
  15. How are you getting through Dougie, Iain or your brother ? It would be great if you could take Alan through.
  16. I've also got plenty of ribbon. If anyone needs some on the day , just ask
  17. As long as it doesn't get nicked or moved .
  18. Just been watching "Pedal to the Metal" again, i forgot how good it was
  19. Jeez, that was quick
  20. I saw a thread somewhere on the site regarding this. They are aware of the problem and i think they will replace it if you contact them.
  21. Aye , remove it. Too much weight lol. Most people replace the standard speakers as they are pish. I went for Infinity ones and they sound good and not too expensive. PPP is a good option if you want to keep your warranty. Prodrive springs seem popular too along with some Whiteline handling goodies. As for brakes, most folk usually start upgrading to better pads, braided hoses and some Dot 5.1.
  22. Take your time and go look at as many as you can. There are plenty of good ones about , it's just a matter of timing. (or patience) It also helps if you know what your going to use the car for or what modifications you might end up doing later on. It'll narrow down the search and it'll make sure you get the right base model to start with. ie: save you ££'s in the long run. Good luck.
