  1. Sorry I couldn't make it last night. Youngest son was rushed to A&E with a very nasty deep cut to his right forearm Luckily he's on the mend now after a lot of stitch work. See you all next month if not before John
  2. Anyone else up for this event ? If so, would you be interested in marshalling ? The SIDC have provided a number of willing volunteers for the past 4 or 5 years at this annual event and would like to continue this tradition. Normally we'll get a section of a stage to marshall ourselves, which means we can swap places easily so you get to see the cars from a number of different places. It also means you'll have access to areas where normal spectators aren't permitted. I believe there's also a free party after the event if you are into that sort of thing For those of you who haven't done this before, free marshall training will be provided on Tuesday 5th April at the Thistle Altens Hotel at 19:00. If anyone is intererested, then please drop myself or Ian Robertson an e-mail and we'll sort out all the arrangements. Cheers John
  3. Glad to hear that things are progressing Pete. See you soon. John
  4. Dealers will happily sell you a set. Think they are about £60 for a full set. John
  5. Dave, put me down as a possible for one of the spaces. My neighbour who was at KH on Saturday with me expressed an interest in the karting as well. He's not home until Saturday again though, so won't be able to confirm until Sunday if that's OK ? John
  6. Cal, do you have a version of that map (bigger scale if possible), and also one for the Southern North sea. Lats and longs for each would alos be a bonus John
  7. Lots and lots of photos at: Lots of pictures! John
  8. Glad everyone enjoyed the day. The weather was a big bonus, and it was a lot warmer than I was expecting. Lots of very nice cars both on track and in the car park. Next event is only a provisional date at the moment and it's 12th June and only 3 hours. More details will be posted up once the event, time and price has been sorted out. See you all there next time hopefully. John
  9. As above, - is anyone passing an IKEA store in the way to KH today ? If so, would you mind going in past and picking up two copies of their catalogue for me. I've been asked to get a couple of copies. Much Appreciated. John
  10. I'd recommend that for each leg Going to be a cold place tomorrow, so wrap up very warm, and remember your flask of hot coffee! John
  11. Just had the call - it's all OK for tomorrow
  12. Welcome to everyone, and all welcome to come along to KH tomorrow to watch. Cheers John
  13. A very similar thing happened to my sister a few yeras ago. Pulling very slowly out of a junction (parked cars either side), this chap came up over the brow of the hill at speed (well in excess of the 30mph limit), couldn't stop in the distance he could see ahead, and skidded into her car. My sister was found to be at fault for pulling out of the junction, despite being the careful and considerate driver Apparently the other vehicle speed doesn't really come into it! The only possible way for the outcome to be different is if you hade been stationary from the time the other car came into view until the time of impact, or the police can successfully charge the other driver with dangerous/reckless driving. Otherwise the best you could hope for would be a knock for knock claim. If you are fully comp, then you'll get your costs covered anyway, though you'll pay for it for the next 5 years in terms of increased insurance premiums Hope it all works out OK for you. John
  14. I've just been told I may have to pull out of this event Won't be able to confirm 100% until next week sometime. John
  15. The situation is getting better by the hour. Yesterday, there was 6 inches of snow on the track and they had to cancel all events this week from last Saturday. Today the track is perfectly clear, but there's still about 2 inches of snow on the outfield. It is melting though and the thaw is expected to continue throughout today and tomorrow (it will be cold overnight though). Unfortunately, they couldn't let us run with that level of snow on the outfield, as if anyone went off, they wouldn't slow down as quickly as normal and would be in serious danger. Fingers crossed that all will be well though. John
  16. Grant, our next KH date is likely to be the 12th June (am session) John
  17. Dave, I'll e-mail everyone on my karting list later today, which should see the numbers increase bit. John
  18. Come on everyone. What else will you be doing on a Saturday afternoon ?
  19. I'd reckon Dave will be hard to beat - perhaps we should introduce a handicapping system Do they have a weighbridge and access to some lead ballast ?
  20. Paul, just turn up and say Hi. We don't have dinner or anything, just a few (soft) drinks and occasionally share a basket or two of chips that the landlord kindly supplies free of charge John
  21. I'll be there as always Steve - don't worry about not washing your car. As most people who attend will confirm, mine is rarely clean. I prefer driving to polishing any day John
  22. Interested but will need to confirm tonight. John
  23. 225/40 would be the correct size for STi models. 215/35 would be correct for the WRX. John
