  2. Certainly Sir,

Would you like me to "Rim" it for you as well......... ;)

Looking forward to Sunday, a chance to catch up with everyone again and for a great cause!

no thank you, and dont stir it with the cheese and onion spoon either

agree with you there, should be a good day.....

  3. Totally agree Scott the AP's on my car were the best 2.5k+ i ever spent,

Kenny if you keep a look out in the For Sale section at the weekend i will be putting a full set of 6 Pot AP's 355mm front and 330mm rears with Black Calipers which have only done 500 miles all road use.

Taking photos when i get home tomorrow night and will pop the advert up ASAP.

They will be priced very fairly for a quick sale!

    Regards

    ScottyB

scotty, if you are looking to sell the rear ap's give scott m with the p1 a shout, he might take them off your hands....he was going to buy mine a wee while back until i decided to keep the car....

  4. Hi Paul,

I called Young Dunc yesterday to let him know the RB320 would not be there so he is in the loop.

Hopefully we will still have enough cars, i am getting a lift up and will be there to give a dig out being the tea biatch or whatever is needed.

Anyone contacted Maxxed Ross, was he not interested at putting his RB320 on?

    Regards

    ScottyB

milk and 2 for me then scotty ;)

    2. boab type ra (WR 1)

    3. STI Pretender (06 STI) 329 on a Dastek so could be good to see the difference on Dyno Dynamics.

    6. ciaranrb5 RB5 standard bar 3" de-cat so 240ish

not sure what to make of this all now..........but the decision has been made to go ahead anyway...

guess we will have to see who does actually turn up on the day and go from there...

sccobysailor....no worries about the time mate.....its on all day...and the cars dont need to run in any particular order...

just whenever you can get there is fine...

    thanks

    Paul

you putting your car on paul?

  7. might be worth updating the list Paul with the call offs, scotty has sold his rb320 and the new owner is collecting it on saturday morning so it wont be there either, be disappointing if we ended up not having enough scoobs turn up after the hassle dunc had getting the evos secured too...

    Thanks in advance

    cheers kenny

if you have the money to spend then i would go for the ap 6 pots, ive got the 355mm 1s on mine and they are superb, definitely 1 of the best mods ive bought....

    scott

  9. Power is nothing without a timed run on Crail or such likes.

Scot..i haven't heard the word "smoked" on here for ages..made me giggle! ;)

sidc at crail on the cards then when we get ours back peter??

it has been quite a while, must be back when swiggi was still on the scene too

  10. guys..sorry been away on business for a few days.

I will call with Duncan tomorrow to confirm if the event is now going ahead with the improved numbers........and if so what time..??

will report back tomorrow night....I promise...

    Paul

was speaking to dunc yesterday paul, seems it is definitely going ahead, think he has managed to secure 5 evos to take part in the day as well which is good....as far as i know it will be a 9am start.....

    scott

  11. I agree.....it's always good to get the figures on a Dyno, but I don't think they count for anything - it's definately all about how it drives, how the power comes in and how it handles (and stops!!). In my opinion anyway.

ah, a very good point, how it stops...have to say the brakes on my car are definitely 1 of the best mods made.... ;)

  12. how long did yours take to build then?

to be honest the bottom end was built pretty quickly, i reckon it could have been done in about 2-3 weeks, but 1 of the guys who works for him building the engines injured his hand and is/was off for 6 weeks...mines has taken a bit longer cos i was getting other stuff done too, but i have to say the service is top class, alan himself kept me updated by email and phone - dont know too many tuners out there who would do that....big thumbs up for enginetuner, i cant fault them.....

  13. Search any number of forums mate and you'll have your answer (HTUK, Falkirkcruise, VAG Owners etc....). Everyones cars were down around 40bhp, even my mates standard Hawkeye STI was given 240bhp reading at hypertech and was ment to be doing well at that according to them, he then took it to Extreme and it was just shy of 300bhp with no changes made to the car. I could list more similar examples if your interested.

you may find that people tend to have more to say or post slagging of dynos(i dont just mean duncs) when their car hasnt made the power they hoped or expected it would....for all the bad comments, there will be plenty of good feedback too, have seen him run up plenty of cars that have made the correct/expected power, or the cars that have had issues/problems identified when running up which once sorted were very happy with the service...

as stewartyboy says, there are lots of different factors which can affect the run and it is a guide, however from what im led to believe dyno dynamics are supposed to be 1 of the top rolling roads....

are horsepower figures that important?or just for pub talk...ive been there where you get fixated on a "magic number" but at the end of the day all that really matters is how it goes on the road.....i remember going back a while now having a blast with a guy who was shouting that his car was 450bhp, it had been at dastek, my car had been on steve simpsons dyno dynamics and made 386bhp and i smoked him.....so his graph was worth about 2 balloons and a blow at the rag mans trumpet

  14. yes still got that car getting murtaya as weekend toy/drt

rear suspension clunking on potholes etc had same at front and got revalved prior to trip but 5 laps of the ring and rear started clunking typical lol

murtaya is running a month behind schedule but should be 2.1 engine tuner stoker with type r gearbox and simtek mapped by steve simpson, standard td05 turbo so 340bhp +/- methanol=3.5 to 60 and 8 ish to 100 i9n 2 seater 4wd blue-of course-sports car

    martin

sounds like a solid car you are putting together....i was speaking to alan earlier on today, my engine being sent up tomorrow

  15. Think I might pop along actually, don't fancy putting my car on hypertech's rollers unless your really struggling(and it's not too low), their figures are way off tbh but I'll be there and will make a donation anyway.

    1. scoobysailor (01 WRX)

    2. boab type ra (WR 1)

    3. jimser (g4y classic)

    4. jonboywrx (98 uk) ... if your stuck ill help out, was going to come to watch anyway

    5. STI Pretender (06 STI) 329 on a Dastek so could be good to see the difference on Dyno Dynamics.

    6. John Mcalllum

    7. Scotty RB320

    8. Frank_STi (04 STI)

why do you say their figures are "way off"??always found dyno dynamics rollers to be pretty good....
