Thats a bugger scott. I wonder if I required the adapters for my bigger injectors
im guessing you probs did rich, duncs ordered them for me so not a problem...
-
Nice one Jase.....a GT35 will be good but tbh a GT30 might be better LOL
TBH when it come to turbo choose there is a big list on what you can go for.... MD T,T+ and V,SC46,s206,GT30,GT35,GT3540,GT3542....and the list goes on.
Maybe even a T04Z too
as peter says there are plenty of options, watch this space and you might see how 1 of them goes with a 2.1 when the car comes back
-
What heads and cams are you going to be running ?? What power output will you be expecting from all the mods ??
Chris
be keen to see what other mods you are going to use too, might be same as me...??
-
Nice car scott, hope the map sesh goes well
thanks mate... after not being able to get the injectors fitted we just fitted a fpr and andy made a few tweeks to the map to keep it safe, dunc is getting in the bits i need for the injectors to fit and andy also recommended a new lambda sensor would be worth getting, so once i get a date for a map can get the car booked in to have this done too....
-
Car looks really good in the flesh scott.
Hope you get your mapping and fuelling sorted out then its medal to the metal
Rich
cheers Rich, car at hypertech just now, the injectors need an adaptor to fit which we dont have so they wont be getting done today, we r having to put a fuel pressure regulator on it so andy can map it, then get another map done in the future with the injectors fitted
-
i should be able to go to this as well mate, with any luck the sti8 should be well up and running by then.....
-
looking good mate, be keen to hear how you get on with your 2.1, my car down with alan just now to get the same 1 fitted....
scott

nice runaround scott
343bhp can't be bad for nipping to the shops
cheers...dont think it has as much as that mate, its standard apart from a decat exhaust, filter and apexi ecu....injectors are maxed out according to the hand controller, it should be getting 550s and a fpr fitted tonight and mapped tomorrow, so will see what it does then
-
cheers for the replies, will give him a shout Paul as dont fancy trying it myself, want to make sure its done right...
-
car looks even better in the flesh guys
Good to see you the day Scott
likewise mate.......
the m3 looks mint btw, cracking colour and def better with the bigger wheels
-
That's a cracking looking type-r mate. Not seen any like that before, and I love that front splitter in black. Is it a Jun?
thanks mate. yes, its a jun front spoiler, its a wee bit rough unfortunately, but my mate is going to repair and repaint it for me....
-

Nice motor me likes nice one Scott, now when is the Black beuty coming out to play, we are all playing on the 15 November crail hope the build nearly finished, must be gagging to get back behind its wheel..
it should be back in plenty time for that, although i have never had it down the strip, paranoid about something else going wrong as i cant justify the money thats been flung at it again....if its back by then might have a couple of runs though...
-
Scott.....lovely mate
Now get the V8 on the road
shouldnt b too long, there's the first race for our v8s, to see which one is fired up first
-
Tidy looking impreza .No body has posted what the difference engine wise is over the v4 to v5 .The v5 the icv is in the inlet plenum, the dump valve is bolted on the intercooler right hand side, stand in front of the car the coil pack is right behind were the ac pump is and plug leads are different style to v4 just easy things to notice .Scott not picking fault with your impreza just to let people now what the difference's from v4 to v5 engine wise if they did not know already just being helpfull
no problem mate, its good to know how to tell difference, i certainly didnt
-
thanks for the comments...i am really pleased with it, just feel stupid now for not realising what i was buying
-
When they get to this age you're better buying on condition rather than miles or spec. You could have bought a rotten v5 or a clean v4, what would you prefer?
There are some differences buuutttt if you really intend to leave it as a standard daily driver none of that maters.
theres a mint v5 on scoobynet that i might have gone for, saying that, i do like the look of what ive got, its different and will be staying pretty much standard once the injectors are changed and map tweaked....oh, and the thing def needs a set of ap's...lol
-
nice one
-
The other thing is some of the things you use to tell if it's a version 4 or version 5 have been changed, The original spolier and grill would have given the game away for sure but as they've been changed you wouldn't have known.
serves me right for not checking deeper into it...its bought now though so not a lot i can do about it...
-
The DVLA have a lot to answer for. You're right a T plate should be a version 5, mine is on an S. Have a look at the tags on the bottom of the seat belts, they will have the year of manufacture printed on them, will probably say 98.
even the mot doesnt specify model, seems to show as an LX??i'm told that has something to do with the classification they are given when imported??
suppose it doesnt really matter at the end of the day, car drives well and i like the way it looks, just annoyed that feel ive been misled when buying it....
-
Defo version 4, sorry mate.
ok, so now im really p*ssed off....confused tho, thought with the age it should be a v5?it was def advertised as a v5
-
Not wanting to be picky mate but that a version 4 front bumper. Not that a doubt you or anything. An under bonnet pick would confirm it once and for all.
Very nice btw.
getting worried now that not all ok....pic below of engine bay

first time trying photobucket links, hope this works:

the front splitter is probably the worst point on the car, going to get it rubbed down and repainted properly, but im not wanting to spend a lot on it, its an everyday car which i told myself i wasnt going to modify
a carbon lip spoiler might do nicely though.lol
