I thought that was his jist!!!

Gary
if you go onto the RC website it calculates the injector size you will need etc, quite a good wee tool....if you are looking at that car i would ask what duty cycle his injectors are at, it must be impossible for 550s to run that horsepower. my understanding would be that the minimum size required for that power would be 740s.....(ok, so i used the calculator on rc's website). i need to get out more. lol...

Still over in the middle east and not spoke to my engine builder in a wee while, so was wondering what stage we are at ?? So an update most of everything has arrived new RCM turbo and waste gate RCM,rotated kit, also looking at getting most of this ceramic coated to reduce the heat, just sourcing the best place to take the bits and piecies, or should i say stevie is, has started on the new heads with all the new cams & porting and shimming once again, so a set of STI 2 heads all ported for sale also a Ecutek soon ,Still waiting on all the fuel set up to be delivered and exhaust, should arrive soon Waiting on more info on the solarise ECU from MR A Forrest ...also looking into plumbing in a fire extinisher to the engine bay just for a piece of mind, dont know if it will happen this time as of the time frame for as for next week Stevie will be full time on mines to have it finished for July.. asked for some pics will post when he has plumbed most of it..
Chris
alan jeffrey got my turbo all ceramic coated, pretty sure its zirkotek(sp) they use...looks pretty good mate....
glad to hear it all coming together nicely, mines shouldnt be far away either...

u any closer to deciding.....i would really like a P1 but that will have to wait, mines should be back on the road in the next few weeks all going to plan....

I like the 470bhp - but don't think the wife would buy that it was a nice 2nd car when the back seats have been stripped out - ah well, the search continues!!!
Cheers
Gary
i think peter was implying that with those injectors it is very doubtful that the power figure for that car is accurate mate.......
-
The white Type R runs 550cc injector for 470bhp?
I told you Jimser bought the last of the good ones!
470??i think ur right peter..........
-
Possible selling my P1. 2.5. 350bhp 373lbs/ft. Dono yet but its on pistonheads anyway!
Not the one in that pic <<<---
thats decent power for a standard turbo(reading ur sig mate)....
-
Hi Scott,
Not sure I have seen your car fella - post a wee pic and lets see it.
Cheers
Gary

22b is the daddy
if that doesn't happen what about this type r
http://bbs.22b.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?...1286;p=1#000004
and if you don't fancy that then you could buy it and do a straight swap with me lol
24k spent on it
having been in a similar situation recently the one thing i will say is that the really good/well modded cars are either selling pretty quickly or being broken to recoup owners outlay!
good luck
that white type r you posted looks mint jimser......

Even with the 22b at 18k, which is cheap, i would be more worried why he is prepared to knock 4k off the asking price.
Mind you, even if it does have a few problems (nothing major obviously), at 14k you could get it, get everything sorted out and have a good car for a lot less than your average 22b price tag.
that was something else i was thinking, hell of a drop on asking price as well.....as you say though, if it needs tidying up then at 14k you could still get it sorted for cheaper than paying full 22b price...
there is also another scenario for you.....you could buy mine............
scott
-
22b for £14k would be a steal, even at £18k it still seems cheap. if it has been used on the track, i would still be having big doubts over why it is so cheap........
-
I think you have out spend me by a little LOL. but modding is like drugs
im not so sure, u must have spent a fair old fortune on yours as well,,,saying that, u have the good fortune of not having had your pants pulled down by ava though..........
-
It your choice but i bet you that all the mods that the person has done would have cost more than £9K!
easily will have cost more than £9k for the mods, compare it to what youve spent peter, i know how it compares to my latest round of mods and that makes it seem a cheap car, you would pay a fair old whack just to get a 2.2cdb, as peter says they are like hens teeth and to get 1 in good condition, it will be worth top dollar...

I think the blobeye is a wrx so I wouldnt go for it, bhp isnt everything. The P1 must be one of the most desireable subarus to own apart from a 22B so thats the direction id go in.
Ive got a blobeye STI but at some point id like to own a P1
im in same boat, got a blobeye sti, which i cant see me ever selling to be honest, but at some stage i am going to have to buy a p1 as well....

Hi Fella,

just back from my visit to Duncan at Hypertech. a bit dissapointed with the result. 203bhp/220ftLb was hoping for around 220bhp but it is running rich, so Duncan insisted its not that bad.
Duncan also gave me a few tips how to get it running right and what my next mods should be. i took a few videos i will upload when i get home on mon, poor sound quality, was taken on my fone and i was too close to the fan. what a noise it made and what a roar the car made!!! should have seen the size of the grin on my face!!!
would recomend Duncan to anybody. good guy and a great service! and my engine didn't go pop.
glad to hear it went well for you the duncs, even if your car didnt make the power you hoped, its a starting point and i wouldnt be too disheartened, the only way is up and the car doesnt have any problems, as you have said dunc happy to give advice and he will keep you right with future mods for upping the power, as well as helping to empty your wallet lol, i know the feeling well as im sure he will tell you.

the p1 at 7500 looks a nice car, u may find that the wheels rub though, strange as it may seem since they are the same style as the anthracite or gold 1s u get for a p1, but my mate put the same 1s on his and had problems with them rubbing, just a wee thing to check if u did look at that car....

nice looking car, there's p1s to be had for that sort of money these days, seen 1 in the autotrader for £5500, based in coatbridge...
-
Hi Dan,
Strange as it may seem, I quite like them - I do like to be a wee bit different now and again, may change the colour of them, but the wheels I feel are to my taste. The lights on the other hand I think I would need to change.
Cheers
Gary
i agree with you about both, think the wheels suit the car and i prefer the p1 with standard headlights...
on another note, there is a p1 in the autotrader for £5500 based in coatbridge, seems a cheap car although not sure why its so cheap....

Cheers Scott, yourself looks like your doing some great mods, what you aiming to achieve what involved in your build??

Turbo is a GT35r size number and i'd say in about a month time till its on the road.
thats not long to go peter, hoping mine should be on the road by then too....
what version of 35 did you go for?
-
good find don, might have to order me that, every extra helps get the bhp up.lol

If Dunc cant fit you in then there is Dastek at inverkeithing and also Extreme at whitburn.
Ask sma01 on here about ava.
definitely DO NOT got to ava, i learned the costly way and wouldnt like to see it happen to anyone else, mines did go pop on his rollers when he was mapping it, doesnt have a clue about subarus, the way mine was done proved that, just ask, he doesnt even use det cans so f*ck knows how he knows if anything going wrong when running the car up...
give dunc a shout, if he can fit you in i am sure he will.....
