  1. once the modding starts it never stops mate....may be a wiser move to go for a front mount just now cos when you start going for more power then it will probs mean changing the intercooler again as part of the mods....(not trying to sound negative btw, just been in the position where ive spent money on mods, then more changing them again shortly after  )

  2. just read this post, gutted for you mate...

cant believe the time the insurance company are with...are you with Highway through Keith Michaels??had heard they were meant to be pretty good with modified cars or is this not really the case??I see 1 of the comments says KM are using another insurer now, any idea who it is??insurance due for renewal soon...

good luck with whatever new project you decide to go with.....

  3. i remember it well.....thinking back it actually wasn't too bad back then.

it just needed a better header and up pipe and i'm sure now it would be even better.

ah, the early days when things were so much simpler with these cars, eh Peter?? :o

  4. Last track day video I did with waaay more sport http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktDioCoXOvE

and an auld yin featuring the nutter that was Swiggi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-IlyhKNbN0...feature=related

that is a blast from the past that video cal.....anyone still hear from swiggi??, last i heard he was staying down in portsmouth due to his work, he still had the scoob when he left so dont even know if he's still got it...

  5. Fuel surge is always a issue on KH at the hair pin unless you have more than 1/2 tank.

So dare i say it "Swirl Pot is your friend" but you will need an external pump too.

Scot.....i hope my/your car will be ready for the next event.See you then

twin external bosch pumps already fitted alongside the swirlpot in the boot :o

peter, hope so too, am sure they will be :)

  6. as title, does anyone know of anywhere in this area(central) that does car trailer rental??going to be needing 1 in the next few weeks for a couple of days and wasnt sure if there are any places which do such a thing...??

  7. Im looking for an exhaust for the P1. Ive been looking at the H+S group buy on Scoobynet. I like the jap angled backbox as its similar to the one i had on the Terzo (afterburner with burnt tip). Then i will get elite/meercat to mate a decat downpipe and centre section to it. What i need to know is what im better going for, 2.5 or 3 inch? Im not really bothered about horsepower chasing (famous last words). Id like a nice fast road car 300-350bhp, obviously i will be doing other upgrades to achieve this and get a remap with Ecutek, Simtek, Apexi, whats your thoughts on these, which is best etc? Best way to achieve this power on a P1? Car is totally standard at the moment.

Then id like to focus on brakes and suspension. It has the prodrive upgrade brakes which should be fine?? Then id like to concentrate on stiffening up the chassis with some whiteline goodies. Its no doubt the start of a slippery slope haha. My last scoob was a standard uk car, no engine mods, so its about time i got stuck in :)

    Cheers

    Dan

blitz nur spec r if you decide to buy off the shelf....if you are getting 1 made can recommend alan jeffrey(engine tuner)..bit far away so you would have to get it made and sent up, but the work and service are first class.....

    scott

  9. get them up cal was your cam front or rear facing?

P.S was many scooby drivers getting fuel cut i was getting it big style out the hairpin unless i went really early

once i got to a baw hair over the half tank

make the next mod on the list a swirl pot mate

  10. he sure was lucky my helmets fitted with peltor intercom and so drowns everything else out lol

stopped in to see him on way back but he was kinda busy with the dyno, sam the dentist was there mapping a fiesta with an evo engine in it....sam had turned up with his mechanic in a R34 GTR skyline, the thing looked mint, apparently around 800bhp

  11. Had a crackening but freezing day...meet some usual culprits LOl..

Nice talking to Scot and Scotty.Cheers

Big thanks to McTwist for the ride up and telling about Spaceman's stiffy! :D

good to get up to an event, it has been a while, good to chat to you again Peter, wish my car was as close to being ready as yours but might not be too much longer...sorry if i bored you with the horror story of my cars last 2 years, rant over now, looking forward with it instead of back

Spaceman, that Don giving you some tips in 1 of the photos??car looked to be going very well, like the wheels, really suit the car. hopefully be another newage on track at the next 1 to keep you company... :)

  12. yup... drysumping is a bit costly for the 'budget' impreza :D

So... apart from a replacement baffled sump, are there drop in baffle trays on the market. With vertical trap doors to pool the oil around the pickup (not horizontal like cosworth)

had been having a look around for something like this but couldnt find anything, 1 of the boys i know does work on some subaru rally cars and asked about a baffled sump from 1 of them but it was going to be too costly....saying that, spending a lot of cash then i would guess dry sump the way to go. whats the expected cost of kits??
