Well said Matt. Everyone has opinions. I can appreciate the work that goes into a well modified hot hatch or whatever but can't accept the argument about cheaper insurance - the work some people do on their saxo or whatever would invalidate their insurance, I am sure many people do not declare a lot of it and if they wanted to own a Subaru, etc they could spend the money they save on unneeded modifications on the insurance difference or on the actual car. I always go along the principal of spend money on a car worth spending money on - ie do not spend £10,000 on body stuff, engine work, suspension etc etc when the car is still a 1.2 merit Nova underneath unless it is purely for show use. I am sure some will agree. The chav smarmy attitude is what I don't like and often giving car enthusiasts and modders a bad name. A genuine car enthusiast and modder is different from a chav as far as I can see, whether it be a saxo, subaru or ferrari. Brian

Used to be Edinburgh based. Fitted a window and 2 doors for us. The owner drives a chipped 275BHP Cupra Leon R+.
