  1. Another classic joins the fold[] Welcome!
  2. Scoob was in for its mot yesterday and initially failed due to there being no beam pattern on the headlights. I had never noticed this before but there are 3 lines horizontally across the headlight glass and nothing else to deflect the beam to the proper area of the road. I know when imports come into the uk they have to be speedo converted, fog lights etc but in all my years of scooby ownership had never heard of the headlights needing to be changed as the japs drive on the left. After a bit of negotiation, pleading and a tiny bit of adjustment they managed to get out of headlights they passed it for me!....[] This was my first mot with the car but not the first in the country so there must be plenty other dodgy MOT testers about,.. thank god! Col.
  3. 20 oil changes?!...er..why? I feel the same in a way although i am going further and have somebody looking at buying my Type r this afternoon, its getting MOT'd just now so its fingers crossed it passes! Col.
  4. Andy,I heard there was a rare STI gearbox made, only a few in existance. The code was something like A D O N I S P R O O F []
  5. Glad your ok Shep. Must be the time of year, i had a similar experiance yesterday afternoon on the slip road onto the M90 at bridge of earn. Pulled onto slip road in 2nd and gave it a bit of gas,now the type r is a bit lairy in the wet but this was different, back end came right round instantly and sent me nose first over the kerb which was luckily an angled one and not flat faced. It was deep gravel for drainage on the other side luckily and that stopped me hitting the banking, got away very lightly with a few scratches on the alloy but could have been a lot worse. Kwik Fit put my new wheels and tyres on,on friday afternoon and i was on my way back from Falkland after getting my geometry set-up when this happened. Car wasnt feeling right so checked tyre pressures, 36 psi all round!! was like driving on ice its no wonder the back stepped out so quick! will be having words with the fitter tomorrow! Col.

  17. If the bumper was the right size it would look pretty good, think somebody got their dimensions a bit wrong!
  18. Happens all the time with suppliers, i got 2 wheel bearings recently from a place in Scotland often mentioned on here and when another garage tried to fit them they found out the seals were wrong! luckily they had other bearings on the shelf or i would have been stuffed. Col.
  19. I was thinking about doing the same as I am doing a 65mile commute everyday albeit all on the motorway. It aint much fun using a type r on the motorway believe me! luckily the exhaust is very quiet, i sit at exactly 70mph all the way there a back and get about 240 miles out a tank. By the time I bought a car, tax, insurance, repairs etc i decided not to bother. Had a go in a few 'cheap' motors and they were all death traps! Neil54, dont think a bike will be much good in the snow and blackice! Col.
  20. I have seen a chopper(motorbike!) with similar wheels. Made out of super strong plastic the same stuff they make aeroplane windscreens out of, looked very cool with no spokes. Col.
