  1. I have only had the car on the road for 6 weeks and the modding bug has bitten! So far- Front splitter, Mesh grille, private plate, 18" wheels now got these through the post this morning- BC Racing coilovers from the group buy on Scoobynet. Only ordered on wednesday too so thumbs up for Apex Performance. I had the Basic Tein coilovers on an old scoob and didnt rate them at all but fancied a set of super street's because of the EDFC thingy but Tein have priced themselves right out the market in my opinion. These were under £600 delivered and look like a good piece of kit. The standard struts feel like they are knackered again after she's been sitting for the past month while I was away, when will Subaru do something about it??!
  2. Getting it fixed this friday eventually, found a local guy in Perth.
  3. What a nightmare, even worse having to watch it die like that.
  4. After lying about my house for weeks I threw them on today. 18" Compomotive MO's with Goodyear F1's, I think they look damn good Next step will be lowering it but dont see the point in putting new springs on the chocolate STI struts so will be looking for a set of super streets or similar shortly. Col.
  5. Well the adventure ended in Portugal at the weekend! We spent 2 weeks in the Firth of Forth because of some problems then went down through the North sea then the english channel. Due to bad weather in the Bay of Biscay we sat in Falmouth for 5 days but when we set off down towards Spain we hit a huge storm and got flung about all over the place! It was pretty scary at some points, sleeping wasnt an option as you couldnt stay in your bed! We were trying to get to La Coruna but as we got closer we were in danger of capsizing as it was listing so much so we went into another bay and stayed there for another few days, In the morning the galley looked like it had been ransacked, smashed plates and everything else turned upside down! 2 nights without sleep and being locked inside as there were cable drums and full size containers sliding around the deck! The main problem with the rig was that we were wider than the ship, the pontoons overhanged the sides of the ship by a few metres causing the sea to clatter into the bottom of them when the ship was listing over and sending shockwaves up through the rig and making us s**te ourselves with every bang!! As there was so many delays with the sailing the job on board that we were employed to do was done really quickly, so by the time we got towards Portugal they decided we were all surplus to requirements and they offloaded nearly all of us in Lisbon where we had a night on the bevvy then flew home yesterday. Overall it was a good job apart from the weather, was looking forward to a bit of mexican sunshine though! Heres a few pics from the shortened voyage- Edinburgh Castle- The boat sunk and ready for us to load onto- White cliffs of dover- Northern Spain somewhere! Leaving the ship in Portugal-
  6. I touch sheep would have been more appropriate for quite a few of the member's on here:)
  7. Welcome back! Wat did you drive before ? I'm from your area and have been in the Subaru scene for a long time! I'm also offshore...sort of, where are you?
  8. Thumbs up for HT Auto's one here too, cheap and easy to fit although time will tell if it can withstand my driving
  9. Its back- http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LWv0LbGIDi8
  10. Would you believe people in Dunfermline were complaining that they can hear the circuit on occasions! I kid you not!
  11. Nice one Grant/Imy. Donation sent.
  12. Yeah I thought of that but then I will have to search about for the buckle if I have had the seatbelt on prior to this, I'l only be using harnesses when having a spirited drive.
  13. I got my old wagon tested by the Highland ****stabulary a few years ago and for reference it read 95db. Full magnex system, no cats. Had an RS turbo back in the day that was 104db!
  14. Can somebody tell me where the seat belt buzzer is located? I always wear my seltbelt on the road but on occasion I take it off when parking or on private ground (also fitting harnesses) and the buzzer is driving me insane....i know when I'm not wearing it I dont need a bloody annoying ding ding to tell me!! At a guess its under the dash around about the steering column? I dont fancy driving along at 20mph while trying to dismantle the dash to find it! Cheers.
  15. Sad sad news. Thoughts are with you Derek and the rest of your family. R.I.P. Dougie.
  16. Best - Outdragged a Ferrari 355 out the hairpin and up the straight at Knockhill in my pretty much standard at the time old Wagon, it was pouring with rain though and he was sliding about all over the place! Worst - Being passed and not being able to keep up with a wreck of a renault clio with 3 neds onboard on a twisty road near Kirkcaldy in my at the time 300BHP wagon, I didnt know the road unlike him and he was driving like he was late for his funeral!
  17. Terrible news, Get well soon Dougie.
  18. I nearly bought those exact same rims, would have made us almost twins! Bought these instead, Compomotive MO's 8x18" they've been sitting in my kitchen for 3 weeks as the nuts havent appeared yet! Only got the Goodyear F1's on the other day though.
  19. SMRC? You kept that quiet! So the human cannonball will be chasing Lambo's and Focus's around Knocker's eh?! Paul that bought my old Type R has bought a Mini Cooper to race at KH, its his first ever season so should be an interesting year.
  20. I got my rear struts replaced under warranty no problem a month ago.
  21. That is one of the craziest things I have ever seen....but awesome! Going up was daft coming down was suicidal!
  22. have you people been living on the moon!!???
  23. When I'm doing tight turns out of junctions and especially when reversing out my drive (which involves near full lock) I get a lot of juddering from the rear wheels. It feels like the diff is trying to tie itself in knots, I can hear the rear wheels slipping on the road surface. This is with the DCCD set at auto. My old Type R with DCCD used to do this on full lock wth the diff open so I am assuming its just a normal occurrance with having DCCD? Also, I seem to get a lot of transmission shunt when driving about town at slow speed's. I find it quite difficult to drive it smoothly, I cant remember it being like that in all the other Scoob's I've owned. Col.
