And all on the OE 380cc's? Interesting! Russell
-
Russ - not nerve touching here, just surprised that you can ask me to "butt out of something that has nothing to do with you"(YOUR WORDS, NOT MINE) but its OK for you to do it? HMM! Wiring wise, check with Andy and Craig - I had the wiring correct as well...just the AVC-R's main unit processor was screwed. Not exactly expected on a BRAND NEW item but I have the solution in progress. I was not being arsey in your post, I was explaining to Gogsie that the wiring diagrams were different between the UK/US/JDM and that I not sure you guys knew that. Anyway, got to go......more entertaining things to get my teeth into. Russell
-
Oh, I'm sorry M8, I forgot that you guys were the experts in wiring even though you got Gogsies 2004 car wrong. Craig knew the diagrams I had weren't suitable for the car (2005) and so it has to be wired in with mutlimeters and continuity checks..........but hey, if he wanted an expert to fit it, he would have gone to you guys, right! It would be better if the company you work for stick to what they are good at.............what is that by the way? Russell CRAIG - I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE IN BED AS YOU ARE @ WORK @0700 SO I NEVER CALLED. I'll try you in the morning before I take the wife and child to the doctors (don't ask! its why I am still up!)
-
Right - just got back in the house after being in and around Glentanar estate since 11am (great biking terrain + wet weather = FUN!) as I did tell you I would be out most of the day, at which point you told me that Andy was doing the car at 1pm ( you phoned me about 10pm, remember?). Got your text ref: item not working. If your unhappy with me or the work I did then come round the house on Saturday and I'll remove the AVC-R and refund you the purchase price of the AVC-R. Also, PM me a more accurate description of "other issue" please. Russell

Aye, just got Craigs text about it. BE AWARE! Russell -
Surprised you haven't shown off the vent "mod" as well M8! Little bit more effort to get the install the way you wanted it but it all looks great at the end of it all! Russell

Someone better inform JohnS that I am now out at Chapel of Garioch and, even in "Godzuky", I can't make it to Old Mill in 5 mins! Craig - If you can, go to the meet qand come by the house at 9. Gives me a little more time to sort out the car (which will be needed!) Text me if you get this in time................otherwise, It see you at 8pm. Russell ps - JohnS - if I had the time, I would be there as I would like to see the Club go from strength to strength, we all know that Ken and yourself are 100% commited to the club!

Remember that 5.1 is more hyrgroscopic ( absorbs more moisture) than 4.1 so will need changed more regularly (once a year)! Russell

Right....YES, you can fit the V3/4 Inlet manifold to your car and it will mate up to your heads no problems. It will allow you to run Front entry Turbos like the V3- cars. Removing the 90-degree part on the turbo inlet will allow more power to be available from the turbo. Also allows you to fit a V3/4 TMIC - MUCH BETTER COOLING of Inlet Charge Temp! Anoter "theory" on Red-top's,they are exactly the same as normal WRX Inlets. The V2 Sti in limited numbers did get a ported and polished Inlet but these are like gold dust! Russell

It can be an Axis 2.33 or a Crawford 2.35 because you need 4 weks minimum to prep and build it as the CP Pistons, rods, Coatings, etc aren't an "off the shelf" tem. Trust me, my 3rd one I have ordered for over here has just about been made......4 weeks it took/ Now...................USDM 2.5 block, that's a different story. But running the car the way Higgy does, I hope that he's changing out the pistons for Forged items and reboring the clylinder by about .002" or he could have more bills in the future running more than 1.4 Bar on OE Hypereutectic (sp?) Pistons. AndyF could tell you about loads of his "Customers" who didn't go this way, but did afterwards. Russell

10W/60 for hard-used cars (trackdays, etc) and 10W/40 for more road-based carsie, day-to-day runners with minor abuse. NEVER USEA 0W oil like Mobil1........BAD NEWS ON A SCOOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too thin a cold viscosity! Whatever it is, make sure it is fully synthetic. I only supply and use Millers 10W/40, 10W/60 or Motul 330v 15W/50 (use this in my car and its VERY GOOD) Russell ( always have at least 20 litres of each of the above "in stock" at all times)

Why are we speaking about first one over the line! that then is all about reaction times as well as power. let them run on the strip, we can they look at reaction times, remove them from the equation and the resulting time (and Terminal Speed) will tell the better car. This is surely the best way to do it. I hve been beaten on the strip by a car doing 12.9 but I had a 12.02 (BAAAD reaction time), you saying my car is slower than the 12.9 one? THINK NOT! Russell -
Aberdeen Trailers are on the Aberdeen -Turiff road but are just beyond Newmacher. Look in the Yellow Pages. Russell

STI has an all alloy Y-pipe with a Silicon 90-degree hose on the end so its OK. Reason to change the WRX Plastic pipe is- 1 - Better flow pattern with the Silicon one. 2 - Plastic one hardens up and weaken over time ( to many heating cycles) and is prone to splitting under higher boost, hence the Prodrive kit has a silicon pipe to take the higher boost. You can't argue with the guys from Banbury! Russell
