  1. I'm just back too. It was my first time and it was fantastic fun. Met a couple of you fellows here and there, teknopete and the people that were with him. Was going to try and say hello to more, but it was too much fun either being out on track or just standing on the pitwall taking in the sights and smells. I was the large ginger fellow with the red top driving the almost entirely stock 54 plated WRX. I've managed to snap a few shots, including one of you I think higgy. Unless anyone else has a black bugeye with ludicrously massive red mud flaps and silver decals. I'll edit out the plates and post them up laters. I don't suppose anyone was behind me when I had the most incredible, trouser loading, 4 wheel drift coming out of the first corner? I'd love to see a video of that. Anyone know much about the white S2000? It was QUIIIIIIIIICK.
  2. Do I need just the new ID card style licence, or is the paper part needed too?
  3. 20 miles from Bishopbriggs to Kincardine bridge in 15 minutes will certainly be going some, particularly through the speed traps and then the roadworks on the A80. I'll be heading to KH from Bothwell. Is the waste ground you talk of the one outside Bathe just before the bridge? If so then I'll stop in there on my way past, after a visit to the shell station for my optimax.
  4. It's been shut at weekends for the last month or so, and down to 1 lane during the week. Which is a pain in the backside. But it is SUPPOSEDLY finished on Friday.
  5. Parked in all its splendour in the visitors section where I work - Scottish Coal. Very nice, very clean. My chariot was parked up the back, with a massive big bird crap on the side, hidden away from everyone.
  6. Resurrecting an old thready, but I've been away for the weekend. I use TomTom Mobile 4 on my SPV C500 and it's fantastic. Pick up the Points of Interest for speed cameras from www.pocketgpsworld.com.
  7. Do they come in 6 foot 4 addicted to takeaways and irn bru size?
  8. I'm waiting on 6 I think, the lotus and the VX220 included. Anyone else finding that they're getting LOADS of the MX5?
  9. I know someone who might be interested in a non-turbo, I will pass this on to him. The new car looks CLEAN. Especially those lovely wheels. Maybe get rid of the pink badge at the front though.
  10. I've been faffing with TomTom Mobile 4 on my phone. You can download a list of cameras (red light, specs, gatso and popular mobile sites) and set it to warn you when you get near them. It does work really well, but not quite as good as my road angel. Apparently the A70 is getting closely watched for speeders jus now. That's south lanarkshire into south ayrshire through Douglas, Muirkirk, Cumnock and so forth.
  11. You really do have quite the wheel fetish Fiona. Did you get your Boyd Coddington ones on yet?
  12. Got an import that's due its 9000 mile service very soon and I'd like a SIDC discount at Halleys very muchly too. Considering prodrive springs at the same time too.
  13. Mine's an FD54 plate, so it's a Motorpoint purchase too.
  14. He was driving a 3.2 litre Vectra, unmarked. Now I've had the pleasure of driving an old shape vectra, 1.8 Club SE, at 134 on the Autobahn, and it was SCARY. The car suffered SERIOUS front end lift at 80 onwards. Maybe they've fixed it on the new one, but I wouldn't fancy giving it a bash.
  15. What you really need is some new phones with PTT - Push To Talk - on them. That's like 2-way radio over the mobile network. Not many out yet though.
  16. Is there a "police speed limit" that they should stay under, even when in hot pursuit? Anyone know what he was driving too? The big beemers and mercs might well be 155 limited, and I don't see the police uncapping them.
  17. Right, so I turn left at the roundabout and then take the first or the second right? And does that bring me out at the BP station or well before? I'll have to give it a wee bash someday. Luckily I'm going north across the bridge in the morning and south at night, so it's usually against the nasty traffic.
  18. Parcel Farce lost a £400 hifi I'd sent to a guy who'd bough it off ebay from me. 2 day anxious wait for them to finally remember where they'd put it wasn't fun. I've not used them since, and ask people not to use them where I can.
  19. I notice the Sunday Times link is still fewked. You'd think they'd have thought about putting the site up before the promo started.
  20. I got myself 30 notes worth and another 6 cards, only one of which was a doubler. None of the good ones though.
  21. I got some cards on Saturday at the shell at glasgow village airstrip. From memory I have the XK8, the RX8, the XC90, that lexus 4wd Luxury Barge thing and I can't actually remember what else. There's a web address on the cards but it doesn't work. I thought maybe the promo hadn't started and the guy gave me the cards by mistake. No Subarus and no Porsches, but middle of the road 4x4s? Odd. I think I'll stop into shell Kincardine for a top up on my way home and see what I get.
  22. Really going after people like Motorpoint etc. When you consider that a new WRX from an importer is 16-16.5K with an Alarm, and is basically now only 18.4K from a main dealer then that saving really isn't as pretty now. Although you really need to want that PPP. When I bought mine in December there was no offers on, like the recently expired free servicing, so my saving was over 3K. Now you're lucky to save 2 in the grand scheme of things. Oh well. Still wont remove that big smile off my mug.
  23. I work in IT, but not for an IT company, and luckily the other 2 guys in the department are both car nuts too. A year or so down the line and I'd think about a serious mod like that, but I bought a new car to enjoy the warranty for a little while.
