  1. Right, I'll maybe have a wee go at giving them a better clean. I did check the cables underneath and check for obstructions on the nozzles.

THe passenger side one comes away from the bonnet reasonably easy, didn't try the drivers side as I didn't want to break it.

I'll maybe unhook the hose next weekend and give it a bash. Nick a bit of canned air from work.

Not that the washers are any use at motorway speed anyway.

  2. Auto Cosmique are good Andy. I got them to do a scratch that was down to the white on my drivers door. I went to their Glasgow place on Alexandra Parade, but they have a place in grangemouth whcih I imagine is better for you as you're out that way from what I remember.

Grangemouth office is: Unit 88 - Evans Business Centre, Earls Road, Grangemouth. 01324 492768

  3. My car will be at an event near you sometime very soon I hope.

    Next monthly meet hopefully.

The carbon GT wing I'm waiting on is just in the process of clearning customs, and as soon as Scott Lowe picks it up I'll have that + my splitter.

I usually work halfway between Kincardine and Alloa, but I'm going to be based out of Coalburn 2 days a week hopefully, 25 minute commute to work down the 74, and a 45 minute splurge round every back road I can find on the way home.

You know what the say - All work and no play makes shell less money.

  4. I'm at work.

Well I'm at one of our remote sites for the day. There's no one here at the moment so I'm sitting with a copy of Banzai and a bottle of Irn Bru.

I could really disappear for an hour and no one would know/care, but I better not.

    Can't wait till 5.

Motorway to Bothwell or take the back roads?

  5. Bad news I'm afraid, they had none in stock. That's what I get for making my mind up at the last moment.

BUTTTTTTTTT. I did get my H+S Backbox fitted, and in record time by Simon at Motorsport World. Which means that I got to drive back from Strathaven to Coalburn with the most enormous cheesy grin on my face that was only interupted by the occasional howl of mad laughter when I put my foot down.

I don't know if I could have coped with 2 mods like that in one day. The joy may well have been too much.

Big thanks to all at MSW for the top service too!

  6. It's pretty sad. Are we all in IT? I know I am.

Anyway, I wouldn't know a good Turbo and Intercooler as my knowledge of parts, brands, and how in the hell they all fit together is only just getting past the complete beginner stage.

Maybe I'm being very newbie and non-technically minded, but big turbo = more lag? So would a nice Twin Scroll unit fit the bill?

Also, I don't know if it's out of your price range, but Nasa have some solid fuel rocket boosters going cheap if they can't get this shuttle off the ground.

  7. I only noticed they were 17"s after I posted that.

The guy shifts loads of stuff, I have him in my favourites so I can check what he's selling every week.

Might be worth asking if he has them in 18". I personally wouldn't buy another set of 17"s, especially for an STI.

Just having a check on prodrive Japan. The GC-010E and the P-WRC1 are different wheels. Both 10 spoke, but one by OZ and one by Rays (I believe)

    Link here.

Also check out the new GC-010G. They're not flush faced, and they are the business in my opinion. Those in british black would look glorious on a black WRX.

  8. Did you have one on yours Cal? I think I remember hearing it on a video once. I believe it made me grin profusely.

I remember hearing one on the Getaway in Stockholm, either 1 or 2, and it made me smile for days.

The cars going into MSW in Strathaven at lunch time tomorrow. They have Forge VTA DVs on offer for 01> Imprezas at the moment. £125 (less paid up SIDC member discount?)

Are the Forge ones any good?

  9. That is the question.

The car is getting some sugar and spice and all things nice added to it tomorrow (ok, it's only a backbox), and I'm considering a VTA dump valve. Not as a performance thing, just for sh*ts and giggles.

    Will it:

    a) annoy the hell out of me after a while

    B) make me look like a ned/boy racer "out to pickup 15 year old girls at strathclyde park on a saturday night" (that's according to my mate, he doesn't drive)

    or

    c) give me a big grin every time I shift

    Vote now!

  10. << what else should i get in preperation for another re-map?face-icon-small-confused.gif >>

A helmet and a 4 point safety harness? Some sort of teather that keeps the car firmly attached to the ground?

Sounds like you're really trying to push for some big numbers.

    And I like it.
