  1. I have a standard WRX. The wheels are 17x7, but the tyres are 215mm wide, which is 8.5 (roughly) inches.

Now am I mixing up my apples and oranges here, or are my tyres (and I guess everyone's tyres) wider than my wheels?

If so, would wider tyres fit on my wheels?

  2. Only guy that seems to have them is this one - here. I always look at his stuff. Always well cheap electronics and good wheels.

If anyone's ordering something then mine's the Work Emotion wheels or the Volk wheels. I'll pay you back. Hounest face-icon-small-wink.gif

  3. Ah Stiks. I'm glad it's not just me who needs to call for new underwear when reading the temps in traffic. I have my R-Vit set on elipse meter reading the boost, but have the second value on that display showing one of the temps, water I think. It's best to ignore it.

  4. My Blitz R-Vit reads out the Intake Manifold pressure in hKpa, which is hecto kilo pascals (100,000 Pascals).

It usually peaks at 1.25 ish I think, which would be 125 kPa. There's 100 kilo pascals in a bar, so that means I'm hitting 1.25 Bar (easy conversion from hkpa to bar face-icon-small-smile.gif ).

Is that about right for an 05 WRX with no intake modifications?

  5. One of my mates bought a WRX after seeing mine, but he's not really interested in the club, and he's sort of target audience for this kind of thing I guess.

Each to their own I suppose.

I can't really comment fully about being part of the club as the number of events I've taken part in is woefully small, but I'm hoping to rectify that with the next Glasgow meet, and of course the trackdays, and hopefully the september run too.

  6. Scotland in general needs more places to race. Knockhill is a great place, but its not world class, nor could it ever be.

We have great natural terrain for building spectacular race tracks. Natural Amphitheatres are all around in the many valleys, many not far from major road networks capable of handling large crowds. 50 or 60 thousand getting in and out of Parkhead or Govan on match day proves that.

We've produced enough racing super-stars in every discipline to warrant better facilities.

    Sorry. Rant over.

  7. I wouldn't qualify pete as I'm not from the area, but I probably wouldn't use them either. I went to one on Wednesday near work where I could get a puncture repair done for free (the company gives them plenty of business), but they couldn't fix it, which was fair enough as the nail's gone in at a stupid angle. I enquired about prices for tyres for future reference and they were at least 15% more expensive than Black Circles.

The transport manager at work had also said to me that if the tyre wasn't repairable then not to buy from them anyway as they weren't the cheapest.

They also scratched a wheel on my last car and refused to take responsibility for it.

    Sorry mate.
