  1. Chloe, firstly welcome to the SIDC. It's a great community, online and offline. When I was 20 I was paying out over a grand to insure something not nearly as exciting as an Impreza, so it might be a challenge. I was only 23 when I bought my 2005 WRX and people claimed I was mad for paying the insurance I was paying then, and indeed am paying now just a year later. Having said that give this phone number a ring - 0208 6427868. It's a guy called Gary Moulson at Ketih Michaels Insurance. He's a fellow Impreza driver and might well be able to help you out. SIDC members get a discount , so you should mention you'd be joining the club if you got a car. There's a few people on the forum insured through them and have got good prices. Certainly can't do any harm. See if you can beat my best quote though, again when I was 20 and looking at a MKIV Twin Turbo Supra. The AA Wanted £10K insurance. The car was only £11K or £12K!
  2. Dubs = 20" (or greater) Could you even get them on a classic?
  3. I prefer the darker ones after having a think about it Cal. One thing with Dark Rims on a black car is you need to keep a good stock of the old Tyre Gel to keep the rubber looking black and not brown.
  4. I definetely can't get them just now as they are uber rare. The only UK sources I know of have just the gunmetal and bronze. Keep your eyes peeled though fellows. Because the bat mobile will be wearing new shoes in the summer, and they'll not be PFF7 replicas or anything else run of the mill
  5. I suppose it's the going rate. If you cruise ebay one will crop up for less. The person I got mine from has none at the moment, but I think they had 20 to sell in the buy it now I went for.
  6. I've not got the cash for wheels right now. Hell if the government don't get cutting through their red tape a bit quicker I'll not have the cash left for anything. But yes. The hunt will continue. The boys over at NASIOC seem to have access to a lot of wheels, so I will watch their galleries with interest.
  7. This is the good thing with "digital modification". Try before you buy. They don't look as good as I imagined, so I've saved myself £600-800-1000 on a set of wheels. The unt continues.
  8. Thanks to 4hero's fine workmanship with the digital paintbrushes:
  9. We were all new once, and we were all made welcome. What are you driving anyway?
  10. Anyone can come.
  11. We meet at the Brewers Fayre.
  12. BYE BYE REST OF THE WEEK! I can put my Win32 version of Ski Free away now.
  13. That's a whole lot of wing Chris. Looks beautiful in Carbon I must say.
  14. I've got one mate. Fitted to a 2005 WRX. It sounds like this. Looks the part too. I was going to say it was easy to fit, but my mate did most of the fitting for me in the car park at work one lunch time. I was the foreman and instruction manual holder. It only took about 10 minutes tops. I got mine off ebay. £180 including postage for the specific new age STI fitment (for the flange etc.) and that was brand new. That sound clip doesn't really do it justice. It was recorded in-car with the windows down using my mobile phone whilst in a wee tunnel. If you're at the glasgow meet on Thursday I'll be there and you can get a look/listen.
  15. Never really had much trouble with the standard WRX pads. The EBC pads I'm using now can be a bit of a handful first thing, which is why I'll always warm them up. Usually a few brisk stops to clean them and the discs and get a bit of heat into the system does the trick.
  16. Another vote for the Teins being excellent.
  17. 2006 Calendar Kindly provided by Irish Al. We should really get it stickied somewhere, if we had a mod. Dunno if you saw it or not Cal, but I suggested perhaps a 6 monthly review on DVD with footage from all the events we've had Cameras at. Thought you might be interested seeing as you've always got the camera at KH.
  18. Good points on the thread re it being carbon and not just regular plastic/fibreglass. I've dropped Scott Lowe an email to see if he can source or make. Otherwise you boys better start saving up some cold hard wonga.
  19. Tell me about it Peter. Check this Carbon rear diffuser. ME WANTEE.
  20. Why not have the meet whilst driving round a big car park? I went to England once Andy, and my car was broken into, (edit) and it put me off ever going back! So yes, once bitten, twice shy.
  21. Looks good. I like carbon. Would have loved the splitter in carbon too, but wasn't available.
  22. Assen! Glorious track. Shame they've hacked the end off it this year.
  23. Have a swatch at this Gus.
  24. I'll maybe have to pay attention to the Lothain nights given my impending employment in the capital.
