  1. Reasonably loud. The exhaust is standard except the backbox which is the h+s jap slash one which is fairly loud anyway. It does sound a bit like tearing. Like a very amplified road noise too. I'm thinking it's got to be exhuast related

Is there no way to type in who you want to send one too? You need to fish for a thread someone's posted in to send anything.
  3. Great news mate. Are you remembering to run it in?
  4. First thing I do when I get in the car is crack the windows open a bit. I did close them when I thought I heard the noise at first, and when I stopped at harthill I made sure all the doors were shut too. If it was speed related then it'd certainly be a windows/panels/wing mirrors issue, but it is definitely related to revs/boost as I get it in all gears.
  5. My old company used to use Nielsen stuff at the jet wash they had out the back. The window cleaner stuff that comes in a spray can is pretty damn good.
  6. It could be. I'll maybe get it across to Milngavie to get them to have a look on Monday if no one has any ideas. It could just be my imagination of course.
  7. Sorry I'm late. Was actually having to do some work there for an hour.
  8. C'mon you useless eejits. This is a genuine question. The noise is still there. I'm certainly no expert, but it sounds like the noise starts when I imagine the wastegate would be opening. Anyone got any thoughts, even some abuse to let me know I'm alive perhaps?
  9. I grab an early night and all hell breaks loose. You're all eff cee you kayed in the head.
  10. "This one time, at band camp ..."
  11. Spooks, an NSR, on a new age? Some kind of mistake surely!?!?!?! []
  12. Quality. Mine's getting used in a fortnight for the same purpose. Should look good with white ribbons.
  13. Cal, no need to be nervous mate. Just tell people exactly why you're there and doing what you're doing and the words will flow and everyone will go "awww". My mate is getting married a week on Saturday to a Danish girl and it's apparently Danish tradition that everyone sings a song they've written at the wedding. Thankfully they've dispensed with that tradition but LOADS of people will be doing speaches and dinner is likely to be about 4 hours! So count yourself lucky.
  14. Pretty much.
  15. Seen that before. Glad the police aren't equipped with them!
  16. Sharon would say that as she used to work there. I've used Halleys a few times and they've been fine. For most work, including servicing as any VAT registered garage can do that and the warranty is fine then I've used Hypertech in Bonnybridge, but if you really must use a main dealer then either you've listed are fine.
  17. Hey Scott. Progrip or Hypertech in Bonnybridge might be able to sort you out. Hypertech used to send the cars to progrip to get the geometery done, but they have their own alignment gear now apparently. Hypertech is 01324 812 212 Not sure about progrip. Might see you up at Knockhill as I'm off next week.
  18. Driving home tonight on the motorway. Slow car passing a bus so dropped down the gears into third and when it was clear I booted it. When the boost started peaking I was getting a bit of a sucking noise that sounded like it was coming from down towards the wheel arch on the passenger side. There in 4th too, but only on boost. Not enough road to really give it the full treatment in 5th. Stopped in at harthill and checked for any visual signs in the engine bay and around the car but couldn't see anything wrong. Reset the peaks on the R-Vit and gave it a run. Thought it might have been boost leak but peak boost is as normal, intake temps look normal for a warm day too. Drives perfick etc. Any thoughts?
  19. Resurrecting a bit of an old thread there Wuz. Any VAT registered garage can carry out servicing as long as they use approved parts. I had hypertech do my previous servicing and had no problems when it went in to Halleys to get the recent service + shock replacement. Cost was just over £200 including I think fully synthetic. I didn't think they used semi, I better check my receipt. Of course Halleys stamped the wrong bit in the book, AGAIN. How difficult can it be not to stamp the intermediate services and actually hit the one that has the correct mileage on it. FFS!
  20. Quality. Someone sent me this last night: Sophie Ellis Bextor found headbutted to death in the apartment of a French footballer. Apparently it was murder on Zidane's floor....
  21. Read somewhere else saying Wonder wheels is good for that caked on dust on the insides, but to avoid using it often and on the actual rim face as it's powerful stuff. Bandit, I think you're at fast and modified this weekend. If so find the Polished Bliss stand and ask them. They'lll probably have some good quality products for sale too.
  22. Noice! Not so sure about the grate over the scoop, and the mismatched scoop colour is a bit halfords pick and mix for me. Liking the rest though, including the lady. Here's the one lap of America car they also prepared. Can't find any better pictures unfortunately.
  23. I've been known to enjoy a bit of speed on the highway, and track use is much more harsh on the pads anyway. If you're doing them in after a few K of only road use then you're either driving like a total maniac, or you're not bedding them in properly. You've got to get a good few miles on them with gentle pressure. Like I said, 12K including a half day and a full day trackday (with the afore mentioned spin) plus plenty of enjoyable spirited runs, including being in the lead group on the November run and following The Squirrel.
  24. I'm guessing getting it checked out after a decat is to make sure the air fuel ratio is correct and that it's not detting its head off. A remap by a professional will ensure you get the most out of your mods and keep the engine safe too.
  25. Going by my trip I also have a lot to learn. It was my fault though, not the brakes. I was writing cheques my body couldn't cash.
