About S6ooby

  1. I got one but I not got a scoob anymore!! I bought a house and my car turned into a 206 GTI - How did that happen??
  2. sorry, forgot toask, how do u know you are getting over boost? do you have a gauge?? also mine is a uk 99 car.
  3. hey up mate, i just had my turbo rebuilt as the wastegate was stuck meaning i got no boost. The rebuild included new seals and bearings and i was told that the wastegate really is best to be sorted out with the turbo off. However, a word of warning, my wastegate was fixed and preloaded to increase boost slightly but I am now having issues with hesitation between 4 and 5k revs. I am in Derby and the Turbo centre sorted it out, if you are in bristol its a long way but you should have an expert near you. 4. sheffield dealer uses magnatec semi. i just had it cleaned out and now running on mobil 1 but not the really runny stuff.
  5. lose the lights, less weight, less draw on the engine when they on P=VI my friend.
  6. it affects the insurance as they car is running whilst there is no bosy around (illegal in public places) but mine (directline) were willing to accept it if i had a signed letter from the turbo timer fitter that the alarm and immobiliser were stil fully functional when the timer was controling the engine. Daft realy as with cliffird alarms you jsut wire it in so that if the alarm senses an intruder it shuts t down anyway. Black Box electronics is very clever - i dont think insurance companies know enough about certain mods.
  7. So I had the turbo rebbuilt and they found a hesitation between 4 and 5k revs. THey thought it might be the crank sensor (??) something about problematic overlap?? They assured the turbo is fine and it does spin up nicely but it just splutters at 4k. Other ideas where a coil pack breaking down or plug problems. Then I thougt that the turbo has had the boost increased slightly by pre loading the wastegate (??) so could it be fuel cut or would it not hit 1.2 bar from this work? Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Subaru want £50 to put it on their machine. Andy C
  8. it was amusing to watch, funny though that the two guys spent shed loads of cash on those ARSE Turbos and only pushed a max of 230bhp!!
  9. I would suggest not as the Trackers work on movement of the vehicle - agree??
  10. i am in derby too, no offence but I have no confidence in Beechdales, as for your engine try Andy at Grade A subaru, search the internet and you will find the site. Andy is great and knows loads. sounds weird to me that me thinks the engine is creamed instead of just some gaskets and from your other thread it is surprising he could give u such an accurate cost without even knowing the problem. My car has just been with the Turbo Centre in Derby centre, maybe they can help you maybe not but its only a call to have a word. The guy is John, very friendly, tell him andy with the blue impreza who was in this week recommended him
  11. im with freedom2surf.net, £22.50 per month for 576k, no contract just a months notice to cancel, superb service, excellent technical help line who informed me that i needed to use the right password to get online!! very impressed and will probably be signing up again with them when i move. Andy C
  12. well my car is nearly ready after its turbo rebuild!! It was losing boost and it turns out the wategate was stuck and whilst it was all off it was rebuilt with new seals and bearings. Had a new compressor wheel to as the old one was worn. Had a new air filter too as the old one was dead, breathers been cleaned out and the air inlet pipe from the air filter was split too so that has been replaced (inlet manifold off). Of course when she was all back together she has been filled with Mobil 1 and all tightened down onto new gaskets. Was getting a boost gauge put in but when they turned up they looked tacky so the guy refused to put it in a scooby, saying it was more suited to an RS Ford!! Should be nice and smooth now but do i need to drive it easy for a while? Andy C
  13. dude, nice pic, hopefully he wont look like you!! sincerely mate, despite all the banter, we are really pleased for you.
  14. yeah concorde touched down at Rolls-Royce in Filton yesterday for the last time, sadly I am based in Derby so didnt see it but I got a few nice pictures from a colleague down there. It is a sad end but it isnt all based on one man saying "no, its grounded because we feel like it" Bestest, plus I like the idea of a prefix to non scooby stuff, OT makes perfect sense to me
  15. congrats mate from me and lee, give my best to ex blobby and if u need a hand when u eventually catch the guy give me a call!! Bestest Your ever faithful bitch + Lee
