  1. Great pics, a little cold, but good to see everyone, catch up & meet new peeps
  2. Thanks Gents, too tired Al, been a long weekend Thoughts so far, collected the car on Friday, drove straight to the hotel near Silverstone, we were there with SIDC Sat & Sun, then home approx just over 300 miles in total Driving position, superb, sat lower in the car than WR1, big improvement, classic owners will like this Obviously only driven steady at the moment, used mainly in the I mode, still feels gutless while running in, but fine for normal driving, & will save some V-Power used sport sharp a couple of times, a definite difference, you can switch over on the move and the car will accelerate without moving the throttle. Feels surefooted on the road, a little light on initial turn into roundabouts, but it's fine, just a confidence thing with a new car & I prefer to the WR1 It's a lot easier to drive than the WR1, better gear change, easier to get off the line (not talking of F1 starts here, just normal driving) will be easier to live with on a day to day basis, better finished inside, plenty of storage space, apart from the boot which is definitly smaller, proved this Friday, had so much gear had to use the back seat, but then again the seats do fold even has a few gadgets, as I'm sure those who have read BMWwhere's thread will already know Mind pulled up at Silverstone, said were with SIDC, the marshall looked twice, then decided to let us in Will update later when I've had some sleep off tomorrow so will be polished and mudflaps fitted
  3. Thanks Lee & yes it was filthy, but washed it now
  4. Look good Lee, were the front ones OK to do? Guess what I'm doing tomorrow
  5. Well, it's been a long 3 weeks, but it's now ours, well pleased
  6. I know our standard WR1 can peak at 1.5 & this is normal, if the air filter is the cone type, make sure it has been mapped & I think you mentioned in the other trhead that the engine check light is on, this will need sorting ASAP
  7. Happy Birthday mate, have a good un
  8. Superb, just love seing a RWD escort being driven like that
  9. Sure someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon, but I would think you will need a remap for both safety and to optimise the upgraded turbo And good luck, hope your soon sorted
  10. To be honest, think that best sums the differences up, they are both very competent & very different cars, need to remember the P1 is now 8 years old & the Subaru has evolved, we may not all like the way it's evolved but it needed to happen, lets hope the new STI puts us back on top of the WRC where we belong. Having said all that a P1 in the right hands still takes some beating & as for looks, dare I say this, they look dated, but still incredibly gorgeous Must confess the P1 & 22B's are still my favourite Impreza's & I'm afraid I don't think we will see aoother 2 or 3 door Impreza for a long time if ever, but the 08 STI is a very competent car & i'm sure it will be a superb package with a couple of tweaks now if they could bring out a 3 door......................
  11. As above, but sounds like could be thermostat to me
  12. Hi and welcome, I'm maybe stating the obvious here, but can you not get a new or second hand diff fitted? Is there a Scooby specialist near you that can give a second opinion? Hope your soon sorted
  13. Not good, anyway won't be long now still waiting for news as well
  14. Thanks Lee, order placed think it's a must, they seem to stick out a touch, but then that will be an advantage, save spraying the rear arches Cheers Paul
  15. Would appreciate it if you could let me know, have you a link for the mudflaps in the states as well please? Been told mats are in stock for mine, just fog lamps they are struggling with, not an issue for delivery, we can have fitted later if needed Many thanks Paul
  16. Thanks Lee, will make further enquiries, hope the DVLA do the buisiness
  17. Yep, have you had your fogs fitted yet? Been informed they are difficult to get hold of at the moment.
