  6. Hi all Does anyone have any idea why there is a Rover parked nose first in a house near the foot bridge in Carterton, is very odd it seemed like there were no skid marks on the road or even on the grass, the impact was hard enough to set off the drivers airbag though. It must have scared the hell out of the people in the house, I hope everyone is ok Cheers Iain

  12. Hi all Just to let you know there are a couple of spaces available for a driver training day at Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire along side a group of VX220 owners, the offer has been put to us by a local performance driving instructor. As follows (I thought I would let you know just in case if your self or any of your fellow members or friends might be interested, we have a Performance club training day booked for the 18th Oct for some VX220 owners, due to personal reasons a couple of them have had to drop out, leaving a couple of spaces. The cost of one of these days at a discount rate that I would like to offer yourselves will be £300 each, this day takes place at Millbrook Proving ground in Bedfordshire, it’s a full on exciting day driving your own car with a experienced High Performance driving coach by your side (all the guys I use are also Prodrive instructors, so know the impreza well), you are split into small groups to maximize your driving time, whilst there you will get to drive all 5 unique circuits, so getting the chance to max your car around the 2 mile banked oval, threshold brake from 120mph on the mile straight, high speed cornering on the exciting outer handling circuit and put it all together on the infamous Alpine hill route, it’s a long day with lots of driving, unlike track days we aren’t governed by pit lanes, there wont be lots of other cars to hold us up, just us and some test drivers driving very quickly in some exotic pre launch cars.) The offer is open to all members not just Oxon Scooby Crew Please contact me asap if interested - 07961614452 isumpy1@aol.com Cheers Iain
  13. Hi all I would like to hold an event for the Oxon Scooby Crew and surrounding regions, next month comprising of Go-Karting followed by a BBQ (weather permitting) or a pub lunch but before I can book I would need names of those interested, I will be speaking to the guys at the venue tomorrow so I can give you date and time info of available slots etc, to make it worthwhile there needs to be atleast 10 of us, not sure of max numbers allowed. Cost is approx £35 per head for about 1 hour of karting, thats long enough to make your arms feel like they have been down the gym for 3 days LOL. The event day is most likely to be a Saturday, but could be a weekday evening if more convenient. Hope there is interest in this event, I have been before with guys from work and we had a great time. I will post more info tomorrow. Cheers for your time Iain

  17. Thought it was you mate, I know Thurso East in Caithness was used for some european surfing contest a few years ago as the surf was so good, thats ok if you enjoy surfing in water just above freezing with nothing but sharp rocks underneath the waves, mad men/women all of you. Cheers Iain

  19. Hi all I thought I would share some of my holiday pics with you Here is just one of the many golden beaches there are on the north coast, notice that you will not be fighting for recliner space here. We even had a surfer, the mad man LOL A little MG parked next to me whilst I was at the beach the owner was a bit like Penelope Pitstop sadly not shown in the photos, her scarf was held out with a bit of wire I think Lovely little car though. This is the view from the house we stayed in The hill Jezza went up in the Disco 3, from about 15 miles away, see arrow. Some postcard type shots. Some dusk pics including my car and Jezzas hill again but from 7 miles this time Something strange happened to Keira my daughter, on the return journey, she was fine when we left to head home... But after 3 to 4 hours on the road her eyes durned red and she started eating her feet, luckily we had some sweets in the car which prevented her from devouring her whole leg... Cheers for looking guys Iain
