  1. You are correct the gasket should be sufficient but in alot of cases especially on the import classics for some reason it is not even fitting new gaskets and bolt washers does not fix the leak, I use a sealant every time now without question and that seems to work very well. Cheers Iain
  2. The oil usually leaks from the lower rear of the cam cover, this is the closest poit to the exhaust and the constant heat changes seem to have an effect of the seal, there is also a 1/2 moon shaped plastic plug on the lower rear of the head that can leak too, have you tried using a good oil resistant silicone sealant yet to aid the gasket? Cheers Iain
  3. Recovering from the jet lag mostly. Cheers Iain

  9. Mine was a (very rare) Skoda Rapide 135 ric 1.3 single point fuel injection. I payed £200 for her, she was 8 years old at the time and never really went wrong. She had all the optional extras you would find on top of the range car in the early 90s, yes including the heated windscreen lol Cheers Iain
  10. Is that a godspeed kit? Cheers Iain
  11. Damn my 135ric would have been worth more now than when I had it then It was a rare car when new and was only on a 4 month production run, I dont remember it handling like a Porche though. Cheers Iain
  12. This was about a month or so ago Ed. Cheers Iain

  15. There is no word of a slot in the arena this year mate so I am not sure if I will be able to throw it about this year Cheers Iain
  16. This was fully booked by this time last year guys, it is a great day out for the family and you dont need to stay by your cars all day long. There is plenty to see and do on the day so please give it a though guys. Cheers Iain
  17. Ah forgot to say its a Skoda Rapide, my one was the 135 ric version with the 1.3 single point injection engine Cheers Iain

  19. I think the ABS sensor position was changed on the MY99 Impreza from the side to the top of the hub (horizontal to vertical), I would imagine as the sensors have changed your ABS may not work, I would certainly suggest getting a hub of the same spec as your own with the tone wheel and sensor intact as the sensors can be a bit of a bugger to remove. Cheers Iain
  20. Is your other car a Trans-am Looks cool Cheers Iain
  21. The filter thing is the carbon canister for the fuel tank purge system. Removing the engine is by far easier when changing the clutch mate, by thurst bearing pin do you mean the clutch release lever pivot pin (next to the starter under a plug?), as you have gone down the gearbox road anyway you will need to either tie back the engine or have someone pushing back on the engine so that it is alligned with the angle you are trying to remove the box at otherwise it will jam on the dowels and studs, with the weight of the box off the engine the engine will sit forward. Cheers Iain
  22. It should tell you on the vin plate in the engine bay Cheers Iain
