  19. Calum, I have just started back as a roughneck after a few years out. (first positive) The company I work for have/will build 3 x Nclass jackup rigs, all Norwegian spec between now and the end of the year (second positive) The first rig (mine) has just crewed up with 8 brand new green hand roustabouts (deck crew) out of 16. (third bonus) So, I would send an email and letter to(HR MGR, Rowan Drilling UK, Peterseat Drive, Altens) asking for a job as a roustabout, explaining your construction background etc. I would though book your BOSIET + Medical now. 650 + 120 MIST training is compulsary now but if you book through petrofac, they will do it for 21 quid !! usually 400. So thats the drilling contractor In the meantime, send yoru CV to all the agencies as well. RGB Northlandic Global Resources Interservices etc etc, search for them You have to do your course, apply and apply and apply, call them each week and keep on trucking ! Good luck
  20. think he went to the 80 after the 72 in 2004/5 and then the gorilla6. I expect they will be hard work indeed but ill manage im sure. New rig defo means ''keep it clean as long as possible'' In some ways an older one where everything is bogging would be better. Rowan Cowboys :kerstsmiley:
  21. Is the 7 where you met senior Provan? Hes now on the 6. Ill be on the viking which has just been built in singapore. ''turnin burnin hell'' and ''time to lean, time to clean'' all sound familiar. They can get the rousties to do that, ill watch from the floor
  22. Jesus that was a close call. Good for him getting round that side. Most, probably me, would have shat it and braked hard.
  23. Thanks for the help and PMs guys. Much appreciated. Looks like im heading to Dundee for a while then the rig will sail out. Ill come back to you when I know more. Muchos gracias
