  1. id say walbro fuel pump and your good to go, if you want or can find then a set of newage sti standard top feed injectors are 550cc and more than up to the task - secondhand sets crop up at breakers/ebay/scoobynet for reasonable money. would say a 3 port solenoid and fuel pressure reg would be better than a front mount
  2. Burnett I can but apologise for the lack of reception you recieved, sad that you didnt come over and introduce yourself - I can hand on heart say your the first person to experience this on the fling, there were several other guys who came along this year for the first time and all have promised to come back as they were made to feel so much at home. You must have left quite early as you obviously didnt come forward to sign on when I requested. And as for the nature of inter club co operation I more than extended the invitation on .net, including clarifying the position with Eddie, who was very helpful, but sadly no one was interested in coming and saying hello. I've written this in defence of my personal event, which I have nurtured specifically to encourage people to interact with new and old friends alike, any other comments are just beyond my ability to care - I have a subaru to drive it as it was meant or as my meagre abilities allow, to meet up with other people I get on with - shockingly I dont get on with every single person on this forum, amazing isnt it, but hey thats life. Now can we put all this crap to bed and remember that we're celebrating the passing of a club legend, a man respected and mocked for his dedication to going fast and screw anything that got in his way - and what better way than to take that lesson and run with it "its a drivers club, just drive"
  3. and as for numbers, clubs, size of bawbags and general dick length - I really couldnt care less about it, if someone can come on a run and keep up with me or make me sweat to keep up with them , without looking like theyre going to wipeout on every corner then I dont care who they are, what club theyre in, what car they drive or theyre sexual disorientation, theyre ok with me here for a good time not a long time ladies, whatever way you get your rocks off
  4. uh oh the next numbers 53 and ive just turned 35..... i feel worried.... and goats.....but mainly i feel goats......
  5. Your totally right Craig - he was that sort of infectious personality, it only took one meeting to burn him into the memory How are you doing anyway stranger, still got the Bug?
  6. Thats the one Chris, almost crashing more times than I could count along there trying to keep Higgy in sight is how i remember him - well that and his shades propped in his perfectly quaffed hair donation to something suitable would be a nice touch - I know Dale (thefastone) is talking to Higgy's fiance so whether she would like to make some input is a consideration.
  7. Im with Gummy, run from central up through Glenshee to Braemar could be wrong but think it was the last big club run Higgy did before he sold Crazy Horse - i remember we took a detour along some fun twisty bits and still hit the A9 before the regular group even including a stop for a jerry can and milk bottle of methanol at the side of the road....
  8. so so sad to hear this, genuinely gutted Higgy and crazy horse were one of the first guys on here to really push the boundaries of tuning these motors, he always had time to chat to like minded fools and trying to keep him in sight on one of the runs up to braemar and back will always be a highlight - thoughts go out to his family RIP

  10. the best set up i had on standard calipers was brembo discs with braided hoses and mintex 1144 pads. great fast road combo - ds2500's can take a bit of heating up on the road
  11. do the calipers black to match the AP's Rich and orange stuff might be a bit extreme, remember the rears only get a small percentage of the heat of the fronts and my ds2500's were standing up ok last time on the front
  12. bit of a thread resurrection but wondered how you got on in the end? car back and running ok?
  13. hello stranger! welcome back Pete, cars still looking great - done anything more to it or just been trying to find time to drive it?
  14. hope you got a few more guys, Ive just finished work in Dunoon so no chance im afraid
  15. give these guys a try, made up a radiator from scratch for my digger for a very reasonable fee http://www.eastendradiatorsglasgow.co.uk/
  16. ooh I like a challenge Peter!! but weeknights are pretty much a no no for me, as Im both away all the time and still working at 7.30
  17. very nice - now remember and use that shiny thing in the middle of the windscreen before you pull out because as nippy as it is us 2 wheelers will still be wanting past
  18. poor Lewis, all these confusing new words have to say the pilot sport 3's I had on were great wet and dry - and the ap's and ds2500 pads were as awesome as ever, wasnt sure the pads would heat up enough with the rain but neednt have worried godspeed - for people who dont need to stop in a hurry, think itl catch on?
  19. brakes brakes and brakes! my AP's made such a huge difference on saturday, giving me confidence that id stop every time as for power vs weight that was amply demonstrated by me and John Mcgay - my full fat car around 400hp his newly stripped around 350 and acceleration was the same, if anything maybe slightly better for John
  20. after yesterdays excursion to knockhill for my first trackday there in a scoob i just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped out with advice, parts or help with getting my car to where it is now and especially RA motorsport who have done all the work on the car incuding picking it up from my house on friday to do a very short notice oil change and service then drop it off again so it was ready to go first thing saturday morning. I drove the car there, did over 60 miles on track then drove it home again without any problems, no extra squeaks or rattles or vibrations, oil and coolant didnt need topped up - proof of just how bulletproof these cars can be if treated properly fair to say it wont be my last track day......
  21. for my first time outin the scoob it was brilliant, absolutely cant wait to do it again! hats off to John and the guys at knockhill for such a smooth running event especially considering the weather Id also like to thank all the guys who came out with me for not laughing or whimpering too much - well apart from Del but that may have been justified.....
  22. very nice Peter, not bad for the every day sensible car lol
  23. fiat 500??? sorry didnt realise things were that bad lol think Id try my hardest to get the manifold welded even as a temporary measure then get it to a really good specialist to see exactly what its got and doesnt and see how much more you can ring out of it :)its a good spec and should be producing more ponies than that even with standard injectors - any chance of putting a copy of the RR printout up on here? If the manifolds been leaking that will affect performance a surprising amount, when was it last serviced, any idea what oil was used and if its ecutek map does it have the old dual maps? full throttle in any gear and push the rear window demister button should switch between maps if so
  24. hope its something simple Kenny! :S
  25. 388 is a very specific figure, taking a guess but have you got some sort of rolling road print out giving that? and if you have is that at the wheels or at the flywheel? most of us talk about flywheel figures (because theyre bigger lol) but rolling roads often use the wheel figures Also depends what else has been done to the car, if its got a gt30, apexi avcr and gt spec manifold then Id expect bigger injectors and/or a fuel pressure regulator plus an uprated fuel pump - any of those not big enough could hold back the power figure or it could have been mapped to be very safe or to run on regular fuel, so many variables after 15 years of imprezas im still learning so dont feel bad and dont be afraid to ask
