after yesterdays excursion to knockhill for my first trackday there in a scoob i just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped out with advice, parts or help with getting my car to where it is now and especially RA motorsport who have done all the work on the car incuding picking it up from my house on friday to do a very short notice oil change and service then drop it off again so it was ready to go first thing saturday morning. I drove the car there, did over 60 miles on track then drove it home again without any problems, no extra squeaks or rattles or vibrations, oil and coolant didnt need topped up - proof of just how bulletproof these cars can be if treated properly fair to say it wont be my last track day......

for my first time outin the scoob it was brilliant, absolutely cant wait to do it again! hats off to John and the guys at knockhill for such a smooth running event especially considering the weather Id also like to thank all the guys who came out with me for not laughing or whimpering too much - well apart from Del but that may have been justified.....

PPG box Ciaran? 15th July! Is that Andys waiting list just now?? oh and you were right about the exhaust, noveltys worn off after getting black flagged at Kames lol
-
always the same problem for me regardless of forum - weeknights equals working away somewhere remote! is attending meets a good enough reason to change jobs? on another note, nice to hear your making the P1 standard as possible - too many being modded to death these days, cough Ciaran, cough.....
-
how you doing Chris, long time no see! P1 still keeping you happy? genuine question Chris, are the .net meets weekend or weeknight and are they meets or runs? I dont post often on there, no problem with the guys but never really given a warm welcome alas

best bits are soooo many but that very first drive home in 2000 on a sunny night with a brand new uk turbo is etched forever in my mind, chasing Higgy in crazy horse through Glen Shee, the Mcrae Gathering and all the Flings ive organised - letting me meet so many fantastic nutters Fling highlight is definitely the first Applecross run with Grant and Imy behind me in the Banana worst bit - without any doubt writing off my first scoob, still makes me want to cry -
DOH!!! yes Gordon, im due you a bottle - can either give you a replacement or the cash your call, completely forgot about it with all the excitement :S
-
as theres one or two not in on the facebook banter and pics thought Id stick up a post here to say a huge thanks to everyone who came along and made the 2013 Fling a tremendous weekend and definitely the most eventful Fling ever!!! The usual great banter and amazing scenery but this years breakdowns gave a chance to show the community spirit that makes this so special So thanks again, feel free to stick your pics up those who were there and those who werent....... see you next year Dave 'Flingmeister' Shanks

day one over and its been a mixed bag! weather has given us sleet, snow, rain and sun, some great roads, some poor driving from bikers (and myself ) and the fling's highest attrition rate to date - Glyns out, Kevan's loooking doubtful and Kenny should be all good to go again in the morning! On the whole driving standards have been their usual excellent selves, scenerys gorgeous even in the rain, most of us made it to Inverness on one tank and my new tyres are scrubbed in now Id say..... So bed and up bright and early for day two - looking forward to seeing the reinforcements in the morning O and todays tip is.......... bring water, especially if you have a 2.5 :s
