  1. Anytime i clean the glass i always use clear water with some vinegar then dry with newspaper, apparently the acidity of the vinegar plus the ink on the newspaper is good for removing any residue.... Cheers for the info.. Chris.
  2. Or selective hearing, lol I'll post my clean / rain-x results after the weekend!
  3. Ah right, thats prolly right..... why didn't i think of that! Cheers Mate!
  4. Alright Folks, Something i meant to ask the other week.... i was changing the stereo in my bugeye and as such went through the procedure of removing the facia that has the heater switches etc... Thing i found strange was on the panel just next to the heater switches there is a little slotted vent and when you have the facia off there is a black hose like attachment that goes into it..... anyone any idea's what this is for? TBH it doesn't make any difference to me but i have an inquisitive mind.... Cheers Chris.
  5. Was thinking that as well.... Got rain-x there which i need to use on the rear screen anyway, i'll give it a shot at the weekend.... I honestly think i have serious issue's when it comes to squeaks and rattles as i'll often go through the "can you hear it" routine and no one hears it til i point it out yet its like a huge ear piercing drone in my head...... can't tune out no matter how loud the stereo is, lol
  6. The URL in you sig still doesn't work, there is a space between "the" and "strip" I.E. www.the strip.org.uk instead of www.thestrip.org.uk Cheers Chris
  7. Alright Guys, This might seem trivial and i don't wanna offend anyone in light of recent OT threads! Anyway, being the neurotic freak that i am my squeaking window wipers where driving me nuts on my bugeye since i got it so i finally got round to changing the wipers tonight, lo and behold squeak is still there..... arrrgggghh!! Any idea's, i've replaced them wi Bosch so i don't think its the wipers, my plan is to give the window a decent clean at the weekend then WD40 any of the mechanics i can get in at ...... Please tell me there is a cure, just finished getting rid of the "whistling" seat belts and also a squeak at the passenger side after about 2 weeks of hunting it down and this is the last thing i need! Cheers Chris
  8. LMAO.... one of the funniest mis-communications i've seen in a while!! Beautiful car....
  9. Chinese is my weekly take-away and prolly my fave altho to be fair the odd indian curry also hits the spot, don't think i could eat it weekly though!
  10. << The one with the wee scabby scary looking battleaxe!!!!!!!!!!! I'd be to feart to ask fur extra salt and the place is aye empty!!! >> Thats the one, it is usually quiet as when i do go in she is almost always shouting at someone, she likes me though and i always get a big portion and an extra pickle!! (prolly cos i single-handedly keep her in business as i'm a greedy The chips are superb, honest!!
  11. << Chris is talking of Maxim's in Dalmuir (the place pongs a bit in the summer due to the sewage works). >> Nah Doug, Maxims are always reheats, the wee one on the opposite side of the road past the coachhouse / cabin or whatever its called just now is my local chippy haunt.. much better!
  12. << Dalmanure chris? You sure??!!!?? >> Its actually Dalmuir but commonly known as Dalmanure as it smells of sh ** t lol
  13. For chips alone my fave chippy is on Dumbarton Road in Dalmanure (clydebank area of Glasgow) Its jus a little chippy with a little grumpy woman but the chips are magic... For chips n gravy / curry sauce got to be McMonagles chippy boat in clydebank!
  14. Warriors may be an option, only thing is i get totally hooked to these games and can't put it down either, last couple of times it has resulted in major arguments wi my girlfriend but thats the sacrifices you have to make, lol
  15. Cool... yeh forgot i completed 3 as well.. I'm gutted, never seen the need for a PSP but now there is a GTA game for this i can't get on the PS2 i'm thinking otherwise! Ah well, need to make do with Pro Evo 5 and maybe the new Rockstar game for the PS2, warriors i think its called....
  16. Ignore my stupidity, this is only out on the PSP ain't it.... i've only got a PS2 sob sob
  17. I wasn't sure about this, loved Vice City and San Andrea (was gutted when i completed my time wi CJ!) Is this def worth getting then, totally unique storylines? Is it the same concept as the others i.e. continually building up etc... is it CJ or Tommy? Cheers Chris.
  18. Yeh mine says the same... one of the reasons i decided altho not mandatory i would start using optimax..... Jus fitted a green panel filter so between the two i think i can feel a slight extra nudge, prolly my butt dyno tricking me though... Cheers Chris.
  19. Didn't really think it could cause any issue, particularly as i've not really thrashed the car at all... How does it go when changing to optimax, how long will it take for the ECU to adjust it accordingly?
  20. I plan on putting optimax in going forward, surely it couldn't knock just cause of 95 ron though if its a UK car mapped for 95?? As you say though not worth the chance as its only pennies plus you get the added boost of slightly better performance, Cheers Chris.
  21. Where they not connected to the rears on the impreza.... does the new STi have a DCCD? If so what is the maximum power distibution you can send to one set of wheels?
  22. I had thought that but do you not factor in roughly 25% transmission losses so that would imply over 300 at the flywheel? Maybe the PPP if there is one for the new 2.5?? The GTi was reading about 175 as well though and its normally quoted at 200ish so maybe it was at the wheels.... One question i have is when they quote the manufacturers figures do they assume 98ron petrol as for example on my car (bugeye WRX) the quoted figure is 215.... is that 215 with 98 ron or would i expect nearer about 225 with optimax? (yes, clutching at straws, lol) Cheers Chris
  23. Yeh i was puzzled by the power output for the STi as well... As you say though it def justifies paying the extra for the optimax which i did tonight for the FIRST time! Bearing in mind i've only had the car a few weeks.....
  24. Alright Folks, Quick reminder that 5th gear is about to start on 5, think they are doing some tests on Optimax and SUL etc tonight, should be interesting! Cheers Chris
  25. As above in and around the glasgow area, for a 2001 bugeye WRX
