Thanks Dale and Imy. We really need a show of hands here before we approach Raigmore so that we know there's going to be enough bods on the day. I'm going to start a new thread with a more specific title to see if we can drum up some interest. After that, I'll progress with contacting Raigmore.[Y]

Guys, this is an excerpt from the PM I sent Dave earlier in the week. Like Dave said, we need to move quickly and I will do my best to help from out here! Does anyone know who we would have to contact about arranging an area in the pedestrian centre of town to place a few cars and rattle some donation boxes? Do we need any special permissions to collect for a charity etc??? Anything you can help with, please let us know. Here's that excerpt: I think the way we should plan it is similar to how they're doing it down the road - We should contact the local police and advise them what route we will be taking. May even manage to drive up the pedestrianised area of the town IF they're agreeable with our plans. We could possibly get a spot in town and park a few cars there and rattle some boxes? After that, get a convoy out to Raigmore and go and visit the kiddies. Might be an idea for someone to get dressed up as Santa to pass out the prezzies. (And no, I'm not volounteering!! []) Maybe a few elves too.... [] Whatever we do, we'll need to get a wriggle on! If we're going ahead, we'll need to contact Raigmore PR department to see if they will organise press or if we will. We'll have to find out what type of presents to get etc. All presents have to be unwrapped so they can be checked for suitability etc. I imagine we would need to get a collection going early in Dec so that we have time to buy presents and take them up to the hospital before Christmas. The collection and cruise would therefor probably have to be on seperate days. I don't mind giving up some time while I'm at home to attend and I certainly don't have a problem getting things sorted from an admin side here. Like I say, I'll do whatever I can to help but we need to make sure some others would be happy to contribute before we commit to anything. If you sound out the guys on Sunday, let me know as soon after that as possible so that I can get started on contacting the police/hospital/press/council or whoever needs to be notified. Thanks to Imy for forwarding on all the information to get this started. I have copies of the donation forms etc that I can send out to you all. Please just PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you.

Having read most of Philips rants lately, my personal opinion is that he has already passed the stage of final warnings and should be banned from posting any more. He has called the moderators "phuds" and the rest of us "w4nkers". Do we really need someone like that on the forums?? What kind of image does it present to Joe Public who could read this?? Take all the good stuff we are all doing for Santa Cruise for example.... By putting ourselves into the public domain, do you not think that more people will log on and see these posts with the increased publicity we're producing? Even Craig has not been able to get Philip to curtail his shocking posts. Philip, you should be ashamed of yourself. My own opinion is that if Philip cannot control his behaviour, he should be barred from posting indefinitely. I'm not "holier than thou" either but I try to put my opinions across in a fair and justified way, like 99% of the other members of this forum...

No need to use boost in town with a 30mph limit so my settings always stay on high boost for the open roads.[Y]

I'd be interested in the link to the ebay shop too if anyone knows it....

I recognise that car!! Hope she's still going strong for you. Ahh, those were the days....... Looks V Good with the new mods you've got on there mate. Glad she went to a good home.[Y][][Y]

Great post Scott. Sounds like you had an amazin time. Maybe if I win the Euromillions on Friday I'll use some of the £100000000 to get me over there! Until then, it's going to be the good ol' Scottish B roads for me.....[]
-
Hi Chris, I am running almst exactly the same mods as yourself and you'll see by the signature below that it'll easily get you the 330bhp you're after. I'm running an STi TMIC and a de-cat pipe. What I will say though is that with a decat and the APS CAI, the car will be VERY, VERY loud. I thought it would be a good thing (and secretly I still do [] ) but I'm pretty sure the neighbours don't agree!![] Something worth bearing in mind... Good luck with whatever you go for anyway mate.

Guys I don't know where all this has come from but is it really worth arguing about? We all have the same common interest or we wouldn't be here. It's euan's decision if he chooses not to mix with some of the characters on here. I'm not saying I agree with "going public" but you'll always be welcome at the Inverness meets euan. Taking up the argument on here isn't going to help anyone though so I reckon it's probably best if we put this to bed... no?
-
Welcome to you both. I'm sure you're going to like it here! Where are youboth from? Will you be heading along to your local meet? I'd highly recommend it! []

Here's my pride and joy. For sale if anyone's interested.... One from the back... And one more.... Sorry about the ridiculously big pictures!!

Had a sheet hot time last night people. We'll no let the weather dampen our spirits! Nice to see your motor in the "flesh" Dale. She's a clean 'un. Good to hear you won your bid Euan. That's me going a place further back at the next meet then![] Not many more spaces for me to fall into! Good run again Dave. REALLY hope I can make the next Sunday meet. Love the road we discussed and the extra activity to add a bit more competition is always good! Rich, thanks for making the effort to come along. Hope to see you at the future meets. Martin, I don't know how you do it mate! I would never make it along if I had to be up at 0400hrs![] We just keep going from strength to strenght. Loving every minute of it! Laters.

Sweet motor buddy..... Although I have to say it's not a patch on The Shed! [] Looking forward to a closer inspection on Wednesday. Take it she's coming along??
-
Hi aye Bar! How's it going fella? Can't believe you're even CONSIDERING an Evo mate![] Nah, seriously though, will be good if you can come along to the meet. Once you see how friendly everyone is then there'll be no going back! You might even recognise a few faces from your previous employment![] Drop me a PM if you need a lift out to the retail park (Not sure what you're driving at the mo, if anything). I already have a passenger for the run but you'll be in safe hands in Steve's motor. Take some clean underwear though!![] Laters

Do any of you run part-time businesses?
steve_nairn_sti replied to steve_nairn_sti's topic in Scottish Scoobies
You're absolutely right Gumball. That's what I was planning/hoping would be the key to success. Just concerned about having to register as self-employed and employed. Bound to get confusing with regard to taxes! Could always pay an accountant to worry about that for me I suppose! That's a nice wee site dipper. Where did you find a list of wholesalers/dropshippers to get your stock? Been looking around for another little business idea I have but can only find sites that want you to pay a subscription for a list of suppliers. Not prepared to do that when I know they can be had free. Just don't know where to look! Not easy to find suppliers of "adult"[] goods without getting a whole load of other junk back from a search engine!![][] -
He muttered the words when he left the ground... everyone else muttered them when he landed! Cracking pic that mate.

How do you think the cost of running a Scooby compares to the cost of running motors classed more as "sports cars"? Yes, I know a Scooby could take the a*se off of most of these but for the purposes of this thread, I don't consider the Scooby as a sports car. I'm talking more about the likes of a.....TVR Cerbera or a Porker 911. Just curious as initially I thought there would be a HUGE gap but now I'm not so sure.[:^)]

Do any of you run part-time businesses?
steve_nairn_sti replied to steve_nairn_sti's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hi Craig, Yeah, I thought it might have the potential to get quite busy. I'm on a 4 on 4 off rota just now so have plenty of spare time....sometimes! I know that customers shouldn't have to wait etc but I have ideas for backup plans of "employing" another clued up friend who would be available for emergency jobs. Did you find that the legal side of things (tax, insurance etc) took up a lot of your time/effort? -
Hi all. Considering starting a small part time business while I am onshore. Still finalising ideas but possibly looking at becoming a computer tutor. My question is this - Do any of you run your own part-time business and do you think it is possible/sensible to set these up when you can only give 100% commitment some of the time? Any pitfalls you think I should be wary of? []

My apologies. After exchanging PM's with Phil, it looks like him and the other powers that be will announce this in due course... [:$] -
Anyone know where I can do one in Scotland? Preferably in the North?
