About WagonBlue

  1. Nice link up with a map for the Paris film http://bhendrix.com/wall/Gmaps_GVideo_Mashup_Rendezvous.html The car was a Merc 450SEL 6.9, (with a edited sound track) one was in EVO this month I think. Just follow the instruction and the map will be in real time with the film
  2. Does anyone know if the P1's or STi's silver coloured intercooler gives more cooling than the standard black classic one on the MY98?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I'm going to fit a tilt kit and it got me thinking that I could well fit an upgraded intercooler too. Anyone found a benefit in upgrading the top mounted intercooler?
  3. Have you seen this pictures on Lichfield's site of the Type 25 using the A-Line spec and that colour! I need that Q-Car in my life... just need to find the £40k !?!
  4. OK, after reading some more post from Scooby Net it looks liek a waste of time on a turbo car. It will only operate off boost and there for give really small increase in mpg, so I think it's not worth the hassle or the risk. I'll keep my money and put it towards a remap
  5. I found this on the Ecotek web site http://www.ecotekplc.com/subaruImp.htm After talking to Scottish Auto Specialists who sell and fit these said that all it does is introduce a small amount of air into the manifold causing the fuel and air to mix more effectively, thus improving the efficiency of the fuel/air mixture. I do have some doubts but I am thinking about it. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  6. Ture if you go get to where your going fast then it does cost petrol! But imporved ecconony off bost would be no bad thing! This is the bit from the web site 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE The Ecotek CB26P has a no quibble satisfaction guarantee so if you are not completely satisfied we will REFUND YOUR MONEY IN FULL. It also carries a two year mechanical warranty and a £5 million product liability insurance.....So try it and see for yourself....! Your vehicle WILL run smoother, faster and produce less harmful emissions and your petrol consumption will improve..... THE SUNDAY TIMES "Countless widgets claiming to save fuel have come and gone through the years, but here's one that really works. Based around Formula One technology Ecotek's simple CB-26P Fuel Saver creates a swirl of air that helps your engine burn fuel more efficiently - resulting in lower emissions, an improvement of up to 15% in fuel economy and a crisper, more responsive drive. Fitting takes a decent DIY'er 10 minutes, or expect a garage to install it for around £20. At £48.99 the device should quickly pay for itself" I'm thinking is worth a punt, look at this page http://www.ecotekplc.com/more_cars_08.htm a EVO with one fitted? The company been around for quite a few years, I was interested to know if an impreza has used one.
  7. Has anyone used on of this device on an Impreza? Apparently it introduces a small amount of air into the inlet manifold breather pipe, creating swirl or turbulence depending on the revs giving a more efficient fuel burn. It’s says it can increase economy and these been lots of magazine tests, I sure they’ve been around for years. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Any improvement in economy would be a boost on the scoob! Cost about £50 is worth it? Or is getting a custom remap a better bet? Also some people are saying that it can help get a de-cated car through an MOT!?!?! Link to page http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Ecotek.html Cheers
  8. Cheers,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> You let me in to the traffic last night at the Burger King round-a-bout. I was attempting to get back into town by avoiding some of the traffic, plus get to blast down the slip road!! Car looks great, really like the black, don't see many about that colour. Stuart
  9. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Has anyone had experience of using these HID lights? I’m think I’ve decided to keep the classic scoob but I’m going to spend some money on it. A remap and better headlights are high on the list along with tiding up the stone chips and car park dents. I was thinking about the Morette twin lights and even change the side lights to smoked ones? But I do like the idea of keeping the car looking totally standard. Anyone got an opinion or used either to say how good each are? Obviously anything is going to be an improvement over the standard items Cheers
  10. Russell,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> It’s a last of the line year 2000 turbo with a centre decat. I'm in the process of deciding wither to keep it and get it remapped so it runs smoother with the exhaust but first I need to get it serviced so I know that it's in A1 condition. Or I could sell it [] and get something small that won't cost me half as much to run (just had the insurance renewal in!), since I do 90% of my driving round town. I can't make up my mind but it does need an oil change soon. Stuart
  11. Hi,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Does anyone know of a reliable garage that can give my Scooby a good quality service, just needs a general service, oil change, a good lubrication all round and also I want the lambda sensor checked and maybe replaced along with them looking at the squeal from the breaks too. I'm in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Aberdeen so somewhere close would be great. I've not been impressed with the few I've tried so far. Cheers
  12. Thanks for the advice about my exhaust. Went to Turriff Tyres and a centre box was fitted. Nice size about 4” diameter and looks great in the 3” diameter exhaust. What a lovely sound I now have from the car, deep rumble at low revs then changes to a loud growl over 4k building to a wail towards the limiter, just what I wanted. Cruising at motorway speeds the noise is easily tolerable. Only thing is I seem to have more power at the top end and it appears to less restriction up the rev range. The only down side is the increase in lag, 2nd gear acceleration from 20mph is sluggish now. I did read about the larger bore exhausts causing more lag but since I got the 3” for a good price I thought I’d take the chance. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Would a custom remap bring the torque back at the lower revs? I’m thinking seeing Andy F in the summer. Cheers
  13. Thanks, that looks like just the place I'm looking for! I'll be up there soon, need to try some sound insulation in the boot floor first but not sure if it'll help? This is by far the best Scooby forum! Cheers! []
  14. Cheers, I drive that way to work and I'm never sure. I'll keep it a 30! Just got a de-cat fitted and I'm felling a bit self-conscious!?!? Not such a sleeper now!
