  1. It's the fourth time THIS YEAR my cars been hit while parked at the side of the road. The fourth time no one has left a note. The fourth time I'll have to buy a new side for my car out my own pocket. The fourth time THIS YEAR ALONE.................. AGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "I"ve never crashed my Scooby, but hey, feel free to crash into my parked pride and joy.Don't forget to smash it just so as the driver door won't open so I can't get in,oh and don't forget to take out the (new)quarter panel too!!!!!!!!!!" I AM OFFICIALLY THE UNLUCKIEST SCOTTISH SCOOBIES DRIVER(Don't forget the clown who drove through a red light earlier this year and took my front end off, making it total of 5 hits by the general public in 9 months!!!!!!!) I just discovered this about an hour ago,I was so pissed I went straight to Leith Police station to report it and to get them to look at CCTV fotage from the hostel next door.I was then quizzed on why I didn't bring my documents with me,I thought he was taking the piss at first(why report an accident to a parked car if u ain't legal etc?)So I had to sit there while they checked me out!!Great public relations, not! So I'm not hopeful, and my great idea of 3rd party insurance seems to have bit me on the bum(£4500 Sti Wagon,I thought saving £450 a year made sense at the time:-)
  2. Come on Gumball, that's what the credit cards are 4. I was looking forward to seeing ur car as well:-) Anyone for spectating? DB7/9'S on track tonight I believe.
  3. Anyone going tonight?
  4. Thanks Cal,I wondered what they were. Those Ultima GTR's looked great.Really was a good night.
  5. Great turnout of exotica tonight, yet the mini and wee red pug looked like the fastest cars on the track. The EVO 6 looked really fast at the start, but looked slower later on(something broke?).Loads of cars on track going for it tonight & some good banter with strangers at the pit wall. Some old cars ,some new & all very loud....... Question.......anyone tell me what the black gtr(big spoiler/noble looking)car was? Some great cars tonight, top night!
  6. << I think it is impossible to say how people would react to a situation like that unless you are faced with it first hand, right enough the shooting is a big USA thing, but the rest of it could and probably would happen everywhere else. >> Sasim,I'm not sure your right. The recent Tsunami didn't result in people turning into animals.Only in the States I recon, but lets hope we never ever find out.
  7. Good game,I thought, decent result against Italy and the team looked to have some spirit about them. One of the best goals they've scored in a long while. Also,I was chatting tonight about whats happened in New Orleans(very sad & tragic). But we got talking about how the Scotts would react in the wake of such a terrible ordeal. The only conclusion we came to was this:we would not all suddenly start raping, stealing, shooting and killing each other. There seems to be a frightening undertone to the reaction of those folks over there............thank god we don't all have the right to bear arms.So many frightened people, not afraid of another natural disaster, but of other people.Humanity has a long, long way to go....... I don't want to be insensitive,so I'll leave it there. Thank u and goodnight.
  8. Cheers Dave for sorting me out.............u r a star. Cheers Grant for a good price as always, thanks. Good crack today,..............I never knew a rear washer spray could be so amusing
  9. 99.9 pence for a mug of optimax...........i"m now thinking it's cheaper to run on a tank of Millers CVL!!! Could be fun though Of course,as Jamie ponts out,we are not all getting wage rises(not in line with the increasing cost of living anyway) & this will have a knock on effect at the supermarkets etc........... I've done my math, when it reaches £1.20 I'll have to start using peddal power to get about town to save some cash. It's probably not a bad thing,as I've never been so unfit ...............
  10. I might head up if the weathers OK,but not that early. If you want to follow me up Fee(or any other Edinburgh Scoobs)then let me know.I'll be leaving about 10.30am,aiming to arrive around 12pm. (ps.there is a Green Classic with a carbon bonnet and huge front scoop sits nears us,I heard it last night..........nice!U know if it's someone on here Fee?)
  11. FIRSTLY............SORRY DOUGSTER FOR POSTING A VERY STUPID AND INSULTING POST AIMED AT YOU.i AM VERY SORRY AND FEEL STUPID ABOUT THE POST.Please accept my apology and I shall not post anything like that again. However,I posted a similar post about what was going on in Edinburgh and it was deleted.I felt hard done by, as Hi Soob points out, this does affect us. Zeolite also seems to think that this posting has a place here too.(I am not tring to drag anyone into my own situation, just saying) I just feel that consistancy is not a strong point of this forum in terms of moderation.I don't see a difference from my post on this subjct to say ,Jamie's?Is there one? Anyway ,I don't want an argument, and I shall not post my opinions on any threads from here after. Again I'm sorry too Dougster,I was having a crap day and I'm sorry m8,I'm not normally so wound up and spiteful. Sorry! Back to thread,Hi Jamie, best of luck to you and batten down the hatches.Sorry to hear about the hassle this is causing you.I got a call from my sister yeasterday to say they had been invaded by these idiots at work and had to lock their doors on police order. She works at the fringe office!! The protesters tried to capture Edinburgh Castle, quick lesson, taking a castle is quite hard without some massive laders and a battering ram! It seems mostly to be foreingers who blend well with all the genuine tourists,so the police don't seem to know if they are coming or going. Anyway, Sorry, peace, love and smiles. (Ps I though you and Matt might have been at the hot marques last night, now I know why and my condolences to Ally)
  12. I don't post too often in here & when I do it's not aimed at being of offence to anyone.I enjoy this SIDC site ,I love Scoobies(all performance/classic cars)and think this site Rocks.I also apreciate all the effort of those involved. However,of the last three post I've started.........1 completely vanished, then several hours later the post appeared again(it was about times of the AWD crew at Crail, which by nature can't get anyones back up) after several of us posted to ask what happened to the post. The other someone had a go at me for asking for info on track nights at Knockhill and the third post(G8 Post)is now missing? So I feel a bit like Gumball,if I'm not liked here I'll just piss off back to Scoobynet..............(as grim as that maybe) Sorry, but it's all abit too serious in here for me sometimes,so lets make a few things clear. Everyone on here likes cars, however,my Scooby is fun, enjoyment, happy thoughts and smiles for me.I ,like you,are never going to make a living from being in the WRC or F1.Sometimes others forget this on here. My post on the G8 was not started in a negative manner,so mods,in future, please moderate the daftys and not the full post,as this is offencive to original creator of such threads. Thank you, and feed the world/be happy.

  14. Cars are boring,I race motorbikes now, they get really confused when they realise that they're slower than a car......and usually scare themself on the corners and wave you on..............or is that just me. I ended up at raceland tonight............some really bad driving going on there ,it was funny to watch.
  15. Any clubs doing a tracknight at Knockhill or anything?anyone know? I'm bored and looking for somewhere to take a drive to.......bored of the beach now...lol.
  16. Yes,Eden Subaru in Cupar,Fife are very good too. They had a lovely 22b for sale last time I was there, although I think some lucky person bought it...............
  17. http://www.mackaytrading.com/ Cars are good but overpriced, just knock him down a grand or so if anything catches your eye. They've a great Sti version 3 wagon at the mo,
  18. Not really the weast coast, but u must take the road to loch rannoch via loch tummel.Loch rannoch is a dead end so to speak,so miles of B roads/twistys and very few people on them, the scenery is great and takes u past the famous queens view up loch tummel. No cameras or police for miles after loch tummel......................have fun!!!!! I beleive there are a few Optimax pumps around those parts too, although they may have gone BP since I was there last year. I think John S covered most of the rest. Enjoy
  19. I worked in the Alps for a year or so,all I can say is that takes more balls than I've got. I know that if he lost it, its a long and deadly drop to the bottom of the mountain, thats a ski run in the winter!! Thanks for posting this M8,awsome I used to drive those roads in a green transit van,it struggled fully ladden in second gear,so used to thrash it in first to get a littlle speed up,then second until we ran out of juice, then back into first and so on.Needless to say,the AA ended up transporting it back to Scotland for us,thank god for AA eurocover!
  20. I saw/heard your scooby last night crossing the bridge next to the lighthouse bar........lovely motor. Yes,I too spotted the ladies of the night who favoured the summer weather............... I think their making a final push,as when those new flats are occupied on salamander they'll not be able to get away with it anymore. I also heard that there are some road changes taking place down our way.Next year all the traffic will be diverted along to the ocean terminal(turning right at the end of salamander) and the water of leith is being made somewhat pedestrian........So the young lady in the shore barbers was telling me anyhow.
  21. Was it u at Knockhill last week during the Porche night?Blue wagon? I was sitting in my silver wagoon at the hairpin and your car avitar looks like the blue wagoon that was there also.
  22. Sorry to hear this, glad your both unharmed. About two weeks ago on Leith Walk, some nutter was doing a similar thing. He was running up the Rd launching himself at cars & when they slowed down he'd start kicking the cars. I was not getting a kicked car so I made myself known by lots of revs until he caught my eye, then launched the car down the road...........he ran away........ His game was slightly different in that he wanted the cars to slow down so he could damage them............he knew better when I made my intentions known. But on reading this that was clearly not a wise thing for me to do,he could have been suicidal like your nutter. Again,I'm glad that your both fine and for posting this,as I've never heard of people launching themselves at cars before.......something to watch out for as nutters seem to love me. Again,I'm not a person you'd buy lucky white heather from either.
  23. Thing is,that stretch of road was dangerous and needed cameras several years ago,but now that the road has been updated it seems rather pointless now.Another stealth tax on us all as far as I'm concerned. Back to SPECS,if they are going to improve road safety then fine.,but lets be honest. We all know that the only way to improve safety on the road is no make people better drivers. And cameras don't give out driving lessons!!!We need constant yearly lessons/tests to make roads safer and to check that elderly drivers are still safe....IMHO So that said, how will those cameras make people safer/better drivers? It won't, but someones making some money,so it's all alright then.
