Biggish service (30k) due on the baby next month. UK Subaru warranty runs out in March next year. I am considering a remap in the spring, funds permitting. So .....Main dealer for the "FSSH" and warranty protection , or non franchise to save £££'s but blow the warranty ? Your thoughts please ? Stiks

You truly are a connoisseur of fine motor vehicles Stevo...MY02 STI prodrive.... in WR blue, great choice. Maybe just a back box and centre section to make it louder .....??? especially with the money you are saving on insurance . You might also want to think about flaps to protect the paintwork around the bottom of the front doors/sills. Enjoy! Stiks

I waited 16 months for my scoob from the first lust. Took me that long to get the readies after I opted out of the company car scheme. I also own and adore my Bug eye ( albeit an STI). I agree with all that is said about the marginal difference in your CTR staright line peformance versus a standard bugeye. the MY05 is out now which may mean a drop in 02 bug, 03 blob prices by up to 3k. Bad news for the likes of me in terms of depreciation. In say 3 or 4 months an 02 STi with c. 30k miles could well be around 12-13k private or 15k in the dealers after a haggle. In short hang off and go for an 03 wrx then mod it or ideally (IMHO) an STI bug which again is ripe for 300 bhp+ + if you want. PM me if you want more of my ramblings Keith
