Ha ha. It's a nice car alright Jon. I think that you're the only other person I know besides Glyn who'd be able to reach the handbrake on it when you're harness is hooked in as I sure as hell can't!! Glyn - sure there are plenty of those over here.

Morning dudes! Dentist today but payday too. Bitter swede!

<< (the detective in me managed to track him down at home, just from his email address!) >> With a little help from your friends! Told you this lot would help you out buddy. Good luck flogging the Beemer - you know it makes sense!

Found a place on Ebay doing 205/40/17 cheap & nasties for £40 a piece then there'll be delivery & fitting but far better than paying £85+ each for cheap ones over here! Will check that link John, cheers!

I hate mondays too. Sitting at work soaked through, plus I've found I need a new set of tyres now because the inside edge of the fronts has worn down, and I got a puncture on the rear. I can almost buy a new set of wheels AND tyres from across for the price of 4 'budget' tyres over here!! What a pisstake. NOT sweet.

Knocklink is WELL worth fitting for peace of mind and easy to plumb in too. I could hear mine before when it was really knocking (red light level & engine making a horrible crackly noise!), but with the knocklink fitted I can see when it's only starting to with a flash of the bottom green light, and prevent it from getting full-on until I get the cause sorted out. Think of which you'd rather potentially have - the cost of a knocklink or the cost of a new engine/rebuild & the time off the road.....

Happy birthday, birthday dude!

<< How the hell is it stealth!??! Vrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooom pop pop pop BANG!!! Splutter pop pop ptssssssssssssssssch!!!! >> Heh heh! I mean in terms of its inconspicuous appearance. You got mean when it comes to the noise bit! She's still far from right Mark but certainly drivable since I cleaned the map sensor. Might try a new set of plugs this weekend and see if it cures the hesitation....
-
Yes indeedy. Saw Steve there seconds after - don't think he spotted me though in my stealth scoob.

Will see if I can get time off for good behaviour to join in. Then if anyone fancies a bourbon (not biscuits!) challenge they're on!
-
Top man, cheers! If you text me your number to 463787 I'll give you a buzz next time I'm on my way south to see if it suits you to pick it up.
-
Heh heh! If I had any dosh I'd be interested meself!
-
No problem dude. Will do so shortly...
-
Top man - cheers Jimmy! Have already got some interest in the better of the 2 PCs so fingers crossed. Will email you now mate.

Afternoon dudes. Nice day until I checked my bank balance and found I've got £80 to last two weeks including a wedding & three birthdays. I don't need to do the maths to realise this'll be a struggle! Zoiks!

I've two full computers systems going cheap (£60 & £170), and a radio controlled helicopter for sale if anyone fancies taking up a fun but slightly tricky hobby! PM/Email me/ask on here if you're interested! Only flogging this stuff because I've badly overstretched my funds this month & still have a few "Do's" yet to attend. Eeek!

Cool - it'd be interesting to try it & see if I can spot an improvement after swapping it for any of my ones. Do you know which your good one is though? So the new ones you got were £300 for the full set then? Presume they're proper subaru ones? Wouldn't mind trying that if that's alright mate, then if it cures the problem I'll be happy to buy the coil off you if you want. Dr Nick - haven't reset the ECU yet as I can't find the black connectors to get all four plugs connected at once on mine. I can only find the green ones (right on top of the steering column) which when connected & engine actually running (not just ignition on) shows code 5 - abnormal MAF signal. I suspect this is the stored code from the MAF being dirty recently but I can't find the black read connectors to check for current faults!! That said I'm sure I saw some white ones down near the pedals somewhere so I'm wondering if I have a freak car with non standard colour plugs?!
-
Does yours have like one coil thing on top of the engine with leads going down, or a separate coil pack right on top of each plug like mine? I fancy fitting some bosch coil packs but funds are a touch thinly spread just at the moment so I'll try the cheap options first! Did actually wave when I saw you last night in case I looked like an ignorant git!
-
"Hiya everybody! These drugs will make this operation seem like a beautiful dream!" Dr Nick - can you fix it for my car to no longer hesitate through the rev range when I accelerate at more than pensioner-like rates?
-
Cool! Quite like the sound of one of those. As long as it says Manx & not Man/Mann United Scoobies though!

<< Hear is one for Jim, there was a Legacy with a Impreza front bumper on it. >> Saw an Aussi guy with one of those and it looked quite nice but he also had a high level STI rear spoiler too which just looked wrong. Glad you had a good time there matey!
-
And what a lovely one too dudes!!
-
Dunno really dude as I never get any stuff sent. Have made progress tonight after cleaning MAF. There's a MAF error (number 5) in the ecu but I'm not 100% sure about the diagnostic connectors on mine as I can only find green ones & not black ones anywhere. With the green ones connected you get the error flashing but only when the engine is actually running & NOT when the ignition is just on. Drove home with no cutting out or weird idling at all. It's still hesitating on acceleration but at least I don't have to worry about it conking out all the time now.

Don't think there's any huge rush mate. I haven't been complained at yet! You'll have to take your passenger seat out again next time you're over.

Sounds almost like my ancient fiesta several years ago. One night it spat a rod clean out through the front of the block! The trusty/crusty old shed carried on somehow on 3 cylinders & no oil for another mile or so until I got to my destination. That's a bummer though Jim, especially when you're trying to flog it.
