<< Morning Dudes! Only a few days until Mad Sunday >> Yeah and I'm away for most of it plus only have the crosser to use.
-
Fourthed! They look pretty good Dave - and as blingy as we've come to expect.
-
Ah I see - thought it was the manifold out of your car. Doh! Andi - saw that white legacy estate down at japan direct last night - looks very nice!
-
<< Injectors out, 380's anyone? Just have to swap my 440's over when fitting manifold. Injectors >> Eh?! I thought that it was only Legacies that came with diddy little 380s & that all the wrxs & STis came with 440 or bigger? Specially as yours isn't an old one dave.
-
Yes, can do if needed. Just someone let me know and I'll pop round to get them. DMS - out of something? I can't believe that for a second......
-
Happy to help if I can Dave. I'll have the breaker bar and the stud extractor at the ready for removing your turbo. Surprised you've not included a gucci turbo too with all those other goodies. Which one does yours have? PS there's a GEMs ECU on Ebay at the moment if anyone else is after one.
-
Dave, that all sounds the shiznit!!! Do you want a hand doing any of it? Give me a shout if you want an extra pair of hands. Can't help with spring compressors though sorry as I'd only borrowed the ones I had and don't have them now. Must buy some!
-
Morning dudes! No Andi - haven't spotted that one but the other day I saw what looked very much like a black twin turbo RS going past. Nice grey R32 GTR going round at the moment too!
-
What was up with it dude? Yay - just got a new brake pipe made to replace the burst one on the rangie and it only cost a fiver. They weren't going to do it until Tuesday and I want the rangie to take the boat out on monday but after a bit of "oh no, I really need it doing" they made it - only took 2 minutes! Only worry is if it's long enough to reach as it was the last piece of pipe they had..... Bad news is that my exhaust got ripped off going down my mum's pothole filled lane from the downpipe back. Good news though was that it was blowing a little anyway so whilst it was off I dragged out the old noah's arc welder and sorted out the gaps where it was blowing. Sounds much smoother now.
-
Wish I even knew what parts I needed for mine!! However with a bit of luck I might have an idea fairly soon.....
-
Yes mate no problem! Just give me a shout at some point over the weekend.
-
Won't be ready for TT Jimmy sadly. New engine is in and running but I'm waiting on a rear master cylinder before I can put it all back together. Might need a new gear linkage too as there's quite a bit of play in my one. Can't wait though!
-
Andi - don't think that's the answer to be honest but cheers for the suggestion. If they have a select monitor it'll probably only tell them what I already know that the sensors are giving the correct signals. It's something else that I think needs to be found via a lot of head scratching etc. Have had enough of it now though. Anyway - can't afford extra trips across now I've got a wedding to pay for.
-
<< a 50 limit up to the goose-neck... and there was other parts as well..... And I think that it is not just for the TT..... >> I hope you mean up to the gooseneck from Ramsey side!

Right ok, I?ve been doing some testing this evening to try and get to the root of this. I swapped out a couple of parts beforehand which included removing the VTA BOV and replacing it with the original one, and replacing the vacuum hose from the manifold to the pressure exchange solenoid and from that to the map sensor. Swapping these bits made no difference. So next I attached wires to various sensor wires at the ecu plugs so I could easily monitor the voltages or various sensors. After doing this I tested the MAP sensor and the pressure exchange solenoid to see what the voltage readings were compared with the specs shown on the ECU diagrams I have (for an early WRX). The Map sensor tested: Ignition ? 2.71v Idle ? 1.47v (Ignition spec: 2.4-2.7v) (Idle spec: 1.4 ?1.6v) Pressure exchange solenoid tested: Ignition ? 11.66v Idle ? 13.58v (Ignition spec: 10-13v) (Idle spec: 13-14v) Now seeing as the voltages being returned at the ECU are within the correct ranges for both the map sensor and the pressure exchange solenoid, I?m now really at a loss to understand why the ECU is giving error 45 which indicates a fault with one of these two. Doesn?t make sense to me. All suggestions as to why it?s erroring when the sensors seem ok will be gratefully received as this is starting to really make me mad.

<< No probs Jim, and congrats to you both, sorry for the belated post. Lol did I ring mid proposal? >> Ha ha - not quite matey. << Jim can?t believe how much hassle your having with the leggy mate; anything I can do to help lets us know. And you had her running so well after fitting the TD05 and fixing the boost leek. >> Yes it was running well until I started swapping ECUs around etc ready for when I get my voschip. It has shown up error code 45 with 3 different ECUs now but that wasn't showing on my old 8 bit one. I believe the newer 16 bit ones may be more sensitive to picking things up which would explain why it wasn't picked up before. The code means faulty pressure exchange solenoid or map sensor but I've tried Andi's solenoid, and tried a different map sensor I had and the code is still there. Am a bit stumped now. But my new leather interior is getting delivered this avvy and I'll be fitting that (probably in the rain this afternoon!).
-
Nah. Can't get rid of this bloody code and that's after stripping & cleaning out loads of stuff, checking for leaks, and finishing off my coil pack conversion. Still no joy and no fun coming from the loud pedal.
-
Bummer! Never nice to hear someone you know has been injured. Fingers crossed that he is ok mate. On another note - I don't suppose anyone happens to have a spare map sensor lying about that I can borrow briefly to see if that is the problem with my car?!
-
If you don't mind mate I could do with trying your pressure exchange solenoid on mine and mine on yours to see if your one makes my car run ok & if mine gives an error on your ecu. It's a dead easy thing to remove & fit (much less hassle than the ecu mate!). This error code 45 says either the map sensor is knackered or that solenoid and I've swapped the map sensor and the code is still there so I'm pretty sure the pressure solenoid is playing up but this will confirm it for definite one way or the other mate - if you don't mind? Cheers dude!
-
Crappy morning dudes. Again!!! Niot good for weekend either apparently. Andi - need to ask you a favour again if at all possible mate?
-
Evening dudes! Just won a mint set of black leather seats on Ebay for a measly £100!!! SWEEEEET!
-
<< Hows the Leggy Jim dude ..???? >> She's not bad after getting that ECU working but very down on power due to this error code 45. Apparently it's either the MAP sensor or the Pressure exchange solenoid (NOT boost control solenoid) that's playing up or possibly a leak near one of them. Dunno how I can test either of them although I do have a spare MAP sensor somewhere so I can try swapping that and seeing if it helps. There's always something up with it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE K!! Have a good one mate.

Morning dudes - Sweet day! They're coming in thick & fast Andi!
