  2. Hi Mark great to here from you...yes we were all set for the land of Oz, but then we were made an offer we could not refuse from the company that bought ours, that was to go and expand in the States, we own a large percentage so its working out great. Yes, very dissapointed with the new WRX, but looking at the pics on the site or the new Sti, that looks good, I thought they would go for the larger body kit...they had to. The forrester is a sweet ride (the yank coming out)!! Over here its all about straight line performance and horsepower, the guy next dorr just ordered the Cadlilac CTS V (469bhp out of the box!!!!). Who else is on the site that I would remember? Take care. Mark
  3. As the title says, some will remember me. I sold the scoob last year just before moving to the states, I did not buy another scooby although I was tempted but I knew I would be doing a lot of driving so I went with a yank tank - Chrysler 300C, which for long distance driving is the best car I have driven... Anyway to cut a long story short I have got the performance bug back and have two choices, upgrade the performance on the 300C or keep it std and buy "something for the weekend sir???" anyway I was driving past the local Subaru dealer and up on stilts was the new 2008 WRX, so I decided to take one for a drive, which I did this afternoon...here is my opinion...dont flame me down, its my opinion! Looks... Absolutly awful, it was a light blue car, and from a distance it could be a Nissan, Daewoo in other words...bland! Inside... better but still far short of many manufacturers. Driving... I never bought my scooby for its looks I bought it for how it drove and made me feel, and this car drives great, there is no PPP kit over here so it was stock and still tight but It drove very similar to my WRX before I fitted the PPP, the turn in is sharp, the burble is there..just! and the car handles better than the outgoing model. Did I buy it.....NO its lost that harshness and raw driving performance, its almost like an Audi very good but bland. I have decided to upgrade the performance on the 300C, so its booked in on the 13th October to have new heads, cams, headers and full exhaust, I have already done the intake, plus its being remapped, similar cars have gone from 340bhp to around 450/460bhp...so I'll let you know how I get on. Regards Mark PS Good to be back on the site again...brings back memories...where the is the fat guy with no neck still around I used to have good banter with....you know who you are????
  4. Living in Florida has been great, will be here for good, can't see living anywhere else. The Chrysler is a very good all round car, I have driven to Nashville (11 hours) and Atlanta (7 hours) and never had a bad back..the scoob would have been a nighmare on my old bones. I actually miss the scoob for its chuckability, the 300C is not as fast off the line due to its size and weight but once your rolling it blows away a std STi, as I have already done...and it was not even close, (oopps scooby site, here come the flames ) To be honest I dont know why the scoob sells as well as it does over here... all the roads are straight and dry, the bends and wet are where the scoob comes into its own. The new WRX has just been released here, TBH looks like a Deawoo with a hood scoop whats the thoughts from the forum? Mark
  5. We have been here since the beginning of the year...the humidity in the summer is brutal!
  6. After a long period I'm back on the site...I forgot my login details!!! Brief update: I sold the scooby back in early 2006 as were now stateside living in Tampa, Florida. No I don't drive a scooby I ended up buying a Chrysler 300C ...340bhp std, mines now up to a little over 400bhp and boy does it shift!!! I just wanted to stop by and say hi to the guys that may remember me, hi! Here are a few pics of my new toy, and a one of my old one. img]http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd122/wildmark5539/Picture023.jpg
  7. << pmsl i see the track must of been filled with super cars as everyone he seems to overtake is something special, me thinks this a collection edited together, plus just because he overtakes a porche doesn mean that the driver is as competant. i seen one porche well out accelerate it but the golf driver had it as he was more confident at speed thru the corners >> The golf out braked the Porsche. Mark
  8. << Not sure if it has been posted before? Watch the acceleration at the end of the clip >> OMG how fast did it get up to 210?????
  9. << good luck with the move and house sale. what willyou be doing in florida? >> Where going out there on an E2 visa, so I will be setting up another copier company. Mark
  10. << i was in las vegas a few months ago and spent ages talking to the guy at the subaru garage and they dont seem to have too much trouble with the heat, they uprate all the intercoolers to cope including one for the turbo.just watch out for the dodgy grade of fuel! good luck and enjoy the sun >> Thats interesting, I thought thats why they have a bigger engine, to compensate for the heat soak. Mark
  11. << Mark is it just a coincidence your going to a country full of loud mouth, self opinionated arrogant people? For the people that don't know mark and my history, he keeps flirting with me from behind his keyboard >> I could say its full of people just like you, but It would only hurt your feelings
  12. << Just had a vicious tax bill so still in a state of shock over that; besides this is for a piece of shaped ally / stainless that probably cost less than a pound to make. >> I'm dreading mine at the end of the tax year, selling the business and all that
  13. << << Cheers Mate, Funny you should mention the Hummer as thats what the wife will be getting, and H3 fully loaded brand new, the price is less than £20k! >> Nice.......get some pic's up of said Hummer once you have it Petrol (GAS lol ) is cheap in the States.....get a Dodge Ram srt10 >> Yeh dont worry I'll post pics, but this is the model she is after... H3
  14. << All the best mate....cant be bad moving to Florida, I wish it were me! Just keep away from those dodgy yank motors.....Stick with Jap unless you get a good deal on a hummer >> Cheers Mate, Funny you should mention the Hummer as thats what the wife will be getting, and H3 fully loaded brand new, the price is less than £20k!
  15. Booked to go back to the leasing company early next week, the wifes TT is being picked up on Friday but we bought one of our company cars for her to drive until we go, not bad for £3.4k eh? and I have ordered the following...Short term contract We are moving to Tampa, Florida in the middle of next year, I have just closed on the sale of my business, and will be staying with the new owners until we go, so that a relief, the house has been on the market for 7 months with little interest so that could be a pain in the backside. I have actually checked out scoobs in Florida and there a lot cheaper than over here, but I'm not so sure about turbo cars in that heat, I wont know what I want until we go, but I will stay on the website and become the US correspondant. Mark PS We are booked up for visits for the next 30 years
  16. << Just had a look. £127 + VAT + delivery. Ouch. Can anyone do cheaper than that? >> Things must be tough on the NHS if your grumbling over £28
  17. << First time I've ever seen JC that excited about a car... funny he never mentioned the MPG...? >> He did, sort of....if the car was being driven at full pelt the 100lt tank would be empty in 12 minutes...and we complain. Mark
  18. << As above..... seen a shop selling them when i was in Italy on honeymoon, and they are BIG watches. Anyone with any experiences on buying/owning/wearing one, i'd like to hear! Cheers >> Sorry to have to say but these are 'tat' its a bit like saying a gucci watch is the best watch, gucci watches are basically 4.99 watches with a gucci label, then marketed at £499. I have a thing about watches and have spent thousand over the years collecting them, and I can say with authority these are $hite! If you want a good watch similar in style to thast one then this is a good make Mark looks similar eh?
  19. << Want to keep a closer eye on engine. Opinions please & pictures. Not sure wich to go for, I like the idea of the SECS monitor not being too visible, but then cool gauges........mmmmmmmmmm >> Cool!
  20. << <> c class sports saloon!! what engine are you going for? petrol or diesel. my co. car is a c220 cdi a/g with sports pack...good handling set up with the sports pack, plus you get s class front drilled discs and calipers//by the way which are an arm and a leg to replace did you say you've got the mod still for the airbag light, as i found your original post on s/net. dean >> Thats exactly the same model I'm getting! yes it's the diesel model. Yes I have the airbag mod, what a barsteward it was sorting that out. Mark
  21. << << << So then Mark, what are you giong to do for the rest of next year????? >> They wanted me to stay on and run their Haslingdon branch, so there paying me to do that and manage my old customers Mark >> Is that us then? Coz we can be awkward buggers >> Nightmare customers like you I can handle It's the ones that think that when they spend thousands on a copier, it should never, ever go wrong!!!! Mark
