<< <<How much did you let it go for in the end Ace?>> Felt the bite of depriciation m8. Had to let her go for 12k Unfortunate cos i didn't want to sell. But needed to as i've brought a new home. One of those things... Give me a couple of years and i'll be back with an STi or (hopefully) a Spec-c! >> ouch that must hurt!

<< Ive just been for a test drive in which I was hoping was going to be my next car. Dont get me wrong, I absolutely loved it! But a few things did make me wonder about the car and how well its been looked after... The car is a W reg MY00 Impreza Turbo 2000 Its done 49k, BUT the cambelt had not been changed at thr 45k service. He did say that its not neccessary to have it done untill 60k. But after reading some of the comments given yesterday, im not overly happy that its not been changed. I did the 2nd gear, 3000rpm gearbox test, which produced a worrying rattle. Even the salesman didnt know what it was, and said he would have his garage check it out. What could this be? Also, I dont know if this is normal or not.... On gear changes under load in 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd, the clucth made a small 'grind' noise as it engages. It only seemed to do it under load, and the salesman said its normal. I could even feel the vibration slightly through the pedal. Is this normal? Also the fact that the guy had already had an offer on the car for £8250 and didnt accept it put me off a bit too. But he did say that he could probably fetch a good trade in price for my current car. Can anyone shade any light on the above problems? Cheers >> There is a safe rule you should always follow, "if in any doubt...walk away", there is a glut of used scoobs on the market...you don't have to settle for second best!

I bought stuff off him and never had a problem, I thought the dust would had settled with the other matters, clearly it has not...."bury head in sand again" Mark

Just read a recent thread on an old member and was wondering where Jon from Custom Scoobies was, I had a few dealings with him and never had a problem but I know some did, just wondering where he is and if the company is still going? Mark

<< The guy had taken his girl out wining and dining; coming home in the car he stops in a lay-by and gets stuck in snogging and feeling between her legs. ''Stop it,'' she says, ''I want to remain a virgin until I marry.'' ''Then how about a blow-job?'' ''Ugh, I'm not putting that big thing in my mouth.'' ''Then how about a hand job? ''Ok. How do I do that?'' ''Remember,'' says the guy. ''When you had a Coke bottle and you shook it and sprayed your friends?'' ''Oh, yeah.'' ''It's the same, but much gentler.'' Later the guy is foaming at the mouth, farts, gets red in the face and screams. ''What's wrong?'' The girl asks. ''TAKE YOUR F**KING THUMB OFF THE TOP!'' >> I take then that Phil is away from his computer?

<< Or get a WRX wagon and put lots of STi bits into it.. >> How are you getting on with the power upgrade? Mark
-
<< Or get a Specie like mine looks like a WRX goes like stink its even quiet outside, but with no sound proofing noisey inside. Gold calipers may have to go though!!!!! >> Has your Spec C lost the burble???? if so I could not have one, part of the experience is the noise. Mark

<< I think these will sell ........ it's more like a limited edition model. This will probably suit some people that want the performance but don't really like the big wing & gold wheels , with the blue seats, etc. But I do wonder ...... " why not just buy a WRX ??? " and save yourself a few grand . Even get it PPP'd !!! >> ...because the WRX does not have brembo brakes, stronger internals for future upgrades, std leather, STi exterior bits etc etc.

I think the Type D fills a big gap in the Subaru range, I were buying another Subaru it would have been the Sti, the only thing I dont like is the shopping trolly wing on the back. You know there not there for downforce...it's for when you run out of petrol you don't have to bend down to push your car Mark
