  1. yes!! defi found that out!!...thought i was ending up in playing field.......sound advise...... (or common knowlage!)
  2. same thing with me, but as my fault, roaring up toward a sharp right with wall on right and railings and bank to the left,.......going too fast......let off gas on the corner......lucky i cut the corner cause it was all over the place and just missed a nice kurb before i could get the gas back on and sort it!!!......excuse to the missus.........."corr did you feel the ice already, that was lucky!" she just smirked and said "well f*****g go a bit slower then" so i did............but it taught me not to scared of a corner as such, commitment i think the word is.....and stupidity
  3. discon.... so the other gadget must be doing your boost? i'd turn it down
  4. yes, i got 126500 on mine and don't worry about it, it's not stopping me from upping it a little power wise saying about history....when i saw mine was stamped right up to date by a scooby dealer when i bought it I felt better!.....but I also do my own servicing and it's over due this week!!!
  5. uk model is a lot cheaper to insure, milage is ok as long as it has FSH!! and looks sweet and not show signs of a bit of rallying, make sure there is no smoke from a cold start, you have to ask yourself if the low miler has had a hard 45000 mile! and vise versa,.....newer one is a bit more comfortable ?? bucket seats and all that, better dash, slight bit more power than older uk models, iv'e got a 96 uk wagon and you can do anything to them so the choice is yours!!! welcome to the forums matey
  6. this control box, does it have a name on it?......this could be causing your trouble. standard cars have a boost control solenoid shown here it's on the left hand side of the bay facing you on the suspension tower, this will control your boost as standard around 11-12 psi, the other gadget could be a dawes devise, lets you manualy control your boost pressure, (it's too high!) you can try and wind it back in a couple of turns to reduce the boost to safer limits (do you have a boost gauge on dash?) and i would leave the actuater for now, just to see what else happens before! good luck
  7. smashin graphics!!........i was toying with gun metal with my wheels..........would look mean i think..........yours looks ok as it is but i would go for gun metal
  8. yes great little find isn't it?......i checked up my old BMW a while back and i sold it over 3 years ago.........still in my name.....they done me for no tax, court cost and everything, all my fault though, let him take log book as it was raining and i wouldn't let him in my house to do the deal! what a W****R.........all ok now though
  9. << Test pilot for Airfix. >> ....... must be good money ..... my mate was crash test dummy for tonka toy, but he went mad and climbed in to a biscuit tin and never came out again. anyway i'm a corgi gas man on LPG and 16th edition lecy..........but don't get paid enough
  10. did they break in?? it's a shame really that this country has no industry left.........and to think there is money sitting there waiting to go on ebay...
  11. size doesn't matter!!.........with all this cold weather i'm sure it will go back to normal oh yes matey welcome to the forums..........if your worried that the car may of been in a smash?? so thats why the light don't fit?? unlikley (hope) but check it anyway, just take the trim off inside and you would get a clue cause it won't look right........but i'm sure it's nothing serious, just the seal like they say, tweak it up a bit..........definatly coming from light?
  12. we live a stones throw from a musium for the war, we see all the old boys everyday, ....... a different mood now though.......but like true brit gents......they take it on the chin and are the proudest people in the country right now.
  13. gutted for you mate, you two are more important though eh! hope you both recover fully and the car will sort it self out, lovely car though, it's a real shame these things happen, if the audi's brakes were as good as yours......everyone would be OK good luck......
  14. Don't mind snow too much, but gets tricky with low profiles on, twice last year i done a complete circle less than 10 mph trying to turn out of junctions!! but as soon as i got to work ....weh heh!!,,,got told off though! having fun in works time hate the ice, scares me s***less
  15. No worrys............any probs......... hopr it was clear enough!!!
  16. AIR filter.............in the air box, left hand side of engine bay near abs if you have it!.....can't miss it,,,connects to MAF senser with little plug on it, the box sits at a angle down toward the engine, you need either a long adptor on a small socket or a long philips screwdriver (ideal use a flexi driver) to take out the 4 bolts which allows you to split the box in half and expose the filter. can be easier too if you take of the intake pipes from the box to the resonator box before the manifold, sounds alot but it's quite easy, takes you longer to get the bits off really. good luck..........oh yes .. i use green cotton filter.....they make a difference with responce and intake noise is slightly increased, well worth it
  17. frost!.......ice!...... oh yes , well i'm off for the week so i did'nt really see any frost cause by the time i got up it was lovely and sunny........but not very warm!.... and this week i have got to ...... service scooby, service the passat, clear up after we had a episode with rats then the maggotts (that's what we get for living near the marshes), move my future inlaws in to there new home in harlow, transfer stuff in to there holiday home near me, argue with the council about my house plans, complete forms for remortgage, and look at new house in the middle of nowhere because i've had enough..........so i've had my lay in already...........
  18. norton never agreed with my pc for some reason, waste of money..........now because i use wanadoo it was easy to get Mc afee, you get free protection, but since i have upgraded to there virus control, firewall, pop up blocker, program alert , ect....... can't fault it ..........even too safe at times!......some links on here will not download even though they are probably 99%safe!...........and it tells you when adware or simular is detected and clears it, auto updates the lot......just another option incase you have no joy............good luck.
  19. there's something lurking under the bonnet!!...........check what ecu you have mate......(passenger footwell, under carpet, take off kick plate and all will be revealed!.........don't recon it's a standard ecu somehow...let us know hat it says on the casing, have you got any pics of the car and engine bay? and yes, think the boost is a bit high, my uk turbo runs about 12.5 - 13 psi as dipsy says..
  20. a bit dim to try it, what was the point, it's like getting an austin allegro and puting a bentley badge on it
  21. feel for you mate, hang the f*****s when they get caught. i think there is a gang of jippos going around, they had a go at my mates bruv in law in clacton on sea, he has mizzy warrior in black and a golf v5 at the back of it, they broke in the house in broad daylight just as they were getting up out of bed,.....called police....... next morning they done the same thing but didn't have time to find keys, they even climbed on flat roof to get in a small window,...... there is a bit going on around essex so maybe they have gone a bit further out this time? good luck mate.
  22. when you down load to photobucket, you get the whole image url in your album, but all you want from that url is:- i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/Daniel-s/SWRTPig.jpg so you just basicly copy from that point, also get rid of and then paste the rest on the option when you reply, like this, i shall copy that above and paste it here you'll get there or you have the option to save those images on photobucket back to your pictures folder and take them from there using attachments i think
  23. 206 mph in a sierra...........scary...................my brother would wet himself if he'd seen it..............he does like he's sierras.......!!.... loved to of seen it though
  24. actualy does matter that you do the sum or you won't come a total that is eventualy divisable by 9 OK in other words...............what ever the total you come to after doing the sum ..........add them all up and come to a number in the 9 x table ......... so makes it easy for "it" to work it out...............eventualy.....
  25. looks like the good old 9 x table again! forget doing all the sums, it's just a put off and makes it look it's part of the trick......pick at random as many numbers as you want, ie.... 65245, add them all up =22 the nearest in the 9 x table to 22 is 27, to make it it needs 5 (27-22=5) (you would have the 5 circled in 652455) or try circling the 4 =23 ....+4 =27 i caught it out with 00 it come up 9....11 =7...22=5......33=3!!! and so on........................................
