  1. possibly needs a tweak, although 800s can be fickle
  2. yes mate thanks Simon
  3. sure it is a simtek and not gems? the idle strategy is simple but I have not had a problem getting 900rpm steady. Simon
  4. got a couple of hours on it today.. exhaust off intercooler off and pipework rad out rear diff off along with prop gearbox and engine ready to remove with everything removed or undone but ran out of time pics to follow... will get little bit of time on thursday and more friday hopefully engine in new car friday and start building it up Simon
  5. Simtek is available for all but the drive by wire 2006 onwards.. Simon
  6. need to settle on a budget really.. Assuming the car is standard apart from decat? 1) Walbro fuel pump, ESL Remap or Apexi, or Simtek - estimate 295 2) as 1 + injectors + 97 map sensor - estimate 310 3) as 1 + 2 and front mount intercooler and induction kit - estimate 320 4) as 1 + 2 + 3 and z32 or sti98 maf sensor - estimate 340 this stage not needed if on the Simtek estimates are keeping to safe limits. Simon

  8. when I get time the wagons bonnet will be visitimg mate to see if he can repair.. if so then I need both my scoops.. but at the minute if I have time to put bonnet on roof of car and drive it to mates then I will ve working on car instead
  9. tbh I am expecting to have to pay for it to be removed once I have finished or I will keep until I find a cheap jig
  10. 1 for 7years 1 for two weeks tomorrow 1 for 12hours that wagon is for sale once I have removed bits
  11. I don't dislike it enough to spend money changing it !!! its a rare colour so I will be respecting it and colour code at some point Simon
  12. yes indeed but still not sure I like the colour yet
  13. I could get them to do it but I like everything done my way, so just better I do it myself
  14. oh and I think the colour is a love or hate colour!
  15. thanks guys.. not sure when I will be doing it tbh, looked at diary and march is pretty much full lol.. wife is not my biggest fan at the moment so weekend passouts are unlikely unless I want to sleep at the workshop... now there is an idea! number of things I would like to do will have to wait, like flocked dash, sound proofing removal etc.. engine and box, diff need swapping etc.. one fairly large task is stripping interior of new car as the engine is in pieces in the boot, the interior has been sold and the farmer style interior just loose in the car in exchange.. and there is a turbo on the front seat, some hideous gauge pod which will be for sale.. sure someone will love it also I think my facelift bumper and ally bonnet will repair to replace steel facelift on new car along with early bumper Simon
  16. you never know I might rebuild it
  17. I am sure I filled something similar when I was 17 but unfortunatly chassis leg bent so not an option
  18. my wagon http://www.jollygreenmonster.fotopic.net/p45438043.html which I have owned 7years and clocked up 235,000miles on the clock (bought at 78,000) and have spent many hours working on lost lots of skin to.. the other week it made http://www.jollygreenmonster.fotopic.net/p48745151.html I bought another scoob for everyday use http://www.jollygreenmonster.fotopic.net/p48745152.html and was considering stripping the interior and sound proofing from the wagon and making it a little more hardcore.. perhaps a cage etc.. although really it was now the wrong starting point.. the WRX would be better.. but I couldn't be bothered to take both cars off the road and swap engines, gearboxes, diffs, brakes, suspension at that point etc etc.. So when I managed to do this at Brandshatch trackday I actually was only concerned about engine and gearbox damage both engine and box are fine as far as I can tell.. So... today this arrived http://www.jollygreenmonster.fotopic.net/p48745154.html I have my work cut out but hopefully this week will start stripping the wagon and cleaning and preparing the new car inbetween mapping etc.. Simon
  19. silver and green are the fastest colours though.. I currently own a silver scoob and two green ones Simon
