  6. due to stripped threads in drivers front caliper I used used Timeserts.. am knackered from working on car.. missed MOT, rebooked for the morning. biggest pain was fitting the rear shaft as everything was rusted solid and it would be the longer shaft to go in. sorted the intercooler pipes, bleed the clutch, bleed the front brakes, fitted the tein bonnet lifters as bonnet stay rubber missing from front panel and so it kept falling down in the wind. sorted the thread in the caliper.. did both threads in the drivers side caliper.. Also played with the launch control - the neutral position switch seems a bit dicky.. took me a bit to realise why it wouldn't rev past 4000rpm. Disabled it for the minute.. downpipe to turbo sorted.. basically just the rear brakes, plus rebleed of the fronts and ready for MOT.. I have prelim checked it and could find nothing other than the rusty rear disks but then when it cannot go in the brake tester anyway.. Simon
  7. either is fine
  8. can use that sensor yes.. or I have GM 3bar sensors etc.. Simon
  9. good price strange.. where has he been? would be easier here but could do another trip out to Germany.. although.. errrmm.. time frame might be an issue. I need it running to keep my interest.. I hate a non-running car.. I can then fiddle with it until happy. Simon
  10. no nothing from him..? that was quick.. I had a thought re-your car today.. worth trying the original FPR into the fuel pipes remotely mounted to discount the aftermarket FPR?
  11. I forgot the meet was Friday.. will try
  12. it would be nice to do some short trips in it before needing to take it up north on Wednesday, also an oil change etc Simon
  13. you bought a kit?
  14. if mot on friday and it allows me time to get tax then Friday.. my other scoob needs a break! I am not currently sure if I can tax it without the reg doc going off to DVLA as I then want to visit DVLA office to transfer the reg.. but not sure when I can get there.. probably in the week.. I may need to tax it and transfer the reg there etc Simon
  15. finished earlier over a surrey rr than expected today so belted down to workshop, for an hour or so.. fitted NS front brakes, OS need a thread drilling and inserting etc in caliper as looks to have stripped it good a proper on one of the bolts glad I had the hour there as I didn't realise the thread had stripped previously and I have got my work cut out to sort it Friday morning as MOT is booked for Friday afternoon swapped wheels also to do for MOT rear driveshaft, clutch fluid, brake caliper thread and fit OS front brakes and brake fluid, downpipe to turbo gasket, rad fan, intercooler pipework, rear diff oil, check gearbox oil level.. all I can currently remember Simon
  16. just been looking into cheap ones for my new car.. variations of L555BAT Simon
  17. which ones? I will be removing the dash.. If you mean the heater surrounds I will be keeping it as I have fitted gauges in it.. but I have another dash coming with my cage so it might have one on it.. Simon
  18. a nice road I need to explore again in the new car rather than the 300bhp one brakes and shafts etc hit the tyres again Simon
  19. did a little this afternoon, battery stay, cleared out unwanted stuff in boot, ps / alternator belt on, played with intercooler pipes and planned out new pipes for when I redo intercooler pipes... I then replaced ps pump on my other scoob as it failed spectacularly yesterday! couple of picks to follow Simon
  20. big thanks to SW Autos who took the brakes off the wagon for me today
  21. thanks mate.. you are welcome to come down friday.. ? Simon
  22. no sorry.. mapping in notts / derby tomorrow I am at SW friday I believe Simon
  23. Stuart at www.swautos.co.uk who owners the workshop where the car currently is said today that the next two days is fairly light workwise so he may get the mechanics to swap my brakes rather than them doing nothing.. he hates paying them to do nothing [smile] I expect last minute stuff will come in and they won't get time but it would save me some hassle.. [Wink] I have to thank him for use of his tools and of course the storage of the cars Simon
  24. not sure on the real name but it is often referred to as peppermint green
  25. bit of time on the car today.. first fitted fuel filter and fuel lines, starter motor and then started on intercooler pipes not happy with pipe to throttle body so not connected that yet. PS belt / alternator belt not on yet as PS is dry.. filled gearbox with oil which took forever with a sucker thingy from the pot it was drained into.. need to sort the intercooler to turbo pipe too which was always suppose to be temporary.. bumper on.. sides need securing properly yet but couldn't find the bolts wired and fitted a new 3bar map sensor as couldn't find the one from the wagon.. fitted a battery, bleep from the alarm.. key fob with a new battery and locks and unlocks without issue.. another worry unnecessary! I then fired it.. small panic as throttle was stuck slightly open.. 5000rpm on first crank after cranking with ht leads off first to get oil circulating. then fitted head lights, sidelights and grill.. headlights are temp as passenger side is cracked and the fixing not ideal from hitting the tyre wall etc.. really liking the colour now full closure alarm was a bonus!! Simon
