I already have four of these books (3 Legacy and the #84 of the Impreza series). Even in Japan, these cost me £20 each. The beauty of the book is that you can discover what is available for that model from the far East, the website they are available on and how much the parts cost in Japanese Yen. The books are in Japanese, so you have to read from the back to the front, and have sections on complete Tuner cars, and then all different areas of the cars are shown, and what can be had for them (ie, brakes, engine, management, wheels, etc, etc.). Well worth the money, and if anyone in the Glasgow/Lanarkshire area would like a look at what they are like, then let me know and I'll let you have a squint at them. Craig

If I'm not mistaken, that is John Allan in the Legacy (ex-Prodrive Burns and A McRae car), and the man has lost sight in one of his eyes, yet able to keep a fabulous pace in that car.

Spooks, I think we might all believe you if you use the phrase "My gearbox was stuck in 2nd!!!" Squirrel, that is a quality video, I especially love the credits.

O/T (sort of) Legacy Outback 2.5 SE Power output???????

Here's the http://www.legacy.manxforums.com/forums/ site. It sounds as if the the car is running sick, possibly an air-mass meter or similar. Definately shouldn't be that slow. -
That's where I filled up yesterday, Stephen. I asked the girl behind the counter (she's got used to my face since my household has a WRX and a GT- if they were getting V-Power, and she didn't let on if it was in the tanks yet, but did say her Boss was down in south on a launch day with Shell.

If it does this, then I'm ditching it for Sainsbury's S/UL, as I had to fling a quick tenner in there yesterday and it was only 94.9 litre wheras Optimax was 98.9 in Hamilton. If this jumps 3-4p, I won't bother using it often[:'(]

Superb, PMSL

Pretty simple to diagnose - first get a boost gauge (it doesn't need to be the dearest or have to be fitted - just a long length of vacuum hose out the back of the bonnet and in through a slightly open window), and take the car for a run, noting boost figures, especially in 4th, 5th and 6th, and over the rev range at say 3K, 4K, 5K and 6K. Now take the dump valve off and refit the original re-circ valve, and test under exactly the same conditions. This will give back to back figures to compare how both are working. Oh, incidentally, get someone to passenger with you to take a note of the readings, rather than trying to do it all yourself whilst giving it large. Alternatively take it back to Wallace and ask them to check it.

Whilst the idea is a good one, as someone once said - "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing", and the bills that can amount from poor workmanship tend to be far higher than paying someone more capable for the job. My father owns a garage and taught me from an early age that an apprentice can get his papers in 4 years, but that it will take at least that again for them to become an accomplished mechanic, if ever at all. Bulbs are one thing, brakes, suspension and engines are starting to open a Pandora's box. Just my tuppenth worth.

A full welded in cage to WR spec can be done properly for around 15K (price for a classic shape - not newage), and this includes taking off the sills and all the other Gucci bits that make a proper Prodrive shell special. I would doubt that this has this done, and whilst I see your point Scoobay, I think most people could build something better for a total of 50K. This is just for dotcom richkids with bottomless pockets who wouldn't know where to start on a project like this.

Imy, you forgot the part where women over-analyse everything Her Diary entry: Was out with the girls for lunch and shopping today. Got a little carried away with drinks early this evening when leaving the girls, and was late meeting my darling boyfriend for dinner. I think I really annoyed him by being late as he barely said 2 words over dinner no matter how much I tried to lighten the situation. We went home together and he sat there lifeless as he watched the TV, and seemed to get more annoyed as time went by. I got changed in to my sexiest underwear and tried to lure him in to bed. He eventually came up 45 mins later, and had a quicky. I think he's lost interest in me or has found another girlfriend. I don't know what I'll do. MY LIFE IS OVER!!! His Diary entry Really hard day at work today- absolutely knackered. My team got beat at football tonight - gutted. Got my hole though.

For the exhaust, it may be expensive, but why not de-cat the up-pipe, and then get a H&S system with the sports catalyst in the downpipe, then the emissions are still legal and you are only 2bhp down on a full decat system. http://www.haywardandscott.co.uk/results.asp?category=13 -
Nothing in my e-mail or PM box, check that it sent OK[]

Rab, yes I do have plenty of experience of these engines (just let me know your year, make & model), and I'll do it for the price I said. Johnny, let me check with the parts suppliers I use, and if the price hasn't changed drastically, then it's an offer that's open to anyone. Craig Oh, and incidentally Rab, if it suits you better, I can do the job at my mum's in Strathaven, at the other end of the fabulous A71 (or use the A70 and come in from Muirkirk!!!).

At least you could fit all the plants and furniture in without even trying. The fmic has been done by neilleggyb4 on the UKLF, but, as has been debated, it is questionable whether the twin turbo's are big enough to justify the fmic or just do like I intend and fit a STi8 tmic. Spend the money on a full exhast system by H&S or Zerosports if it doesn't have already. I also have the HyperRev modification catalogues for these cars (and most of the Scooby range as well), and whilst mods for it are quite rare in this country, they are plentiful in the land of the rising sun, including many front bumpers and splitters. It's a shame that whilst you bask in the glory of driving the best built cars in the Subaru range, you have to wallow in the smell of cabbages. You'll get used to it. Craig

If a certain Mr C Wilky smells of cabbage and is going bald faster than a fast thing going real fast then i would say they are very closely related. If you are in doubt then give Pete (FAI17) Poirot a call and he shall investigate further. [][] Here's what I've found so far http://legacy.manxforums.com/forums/index....ic=4571&hl=
-
This isn't the car that I think Wilky really wants to know about. A certain Mr C Wilky is a new member on the UK Legacy forum, and I'm just curious, is it one and the same.

Fully agree about the movie, though I only watched it to keep my little one at peace[]

Here is not the place to find out about either of these stranger beasts, and whilst I could drivel on about them, it would be far easier dfor you to look here - http://legacy.manxforums.com/forums/index.php?act=idx All you need to know and a friendly bunch too. -
