  1. Thanks John, please bring him along. Obviously if I get a definite yes from anyone tonight, they'd need to get priority, but if you're ok working on that basis then bring him along. Sometimes we can twist arms on the day too Have fun with your concrete ! Dave
  2. Sounds like the perfect home to me !! (certianly better than the skip!) When can you pick up? Dave
  3. Due to an injury, a place has become available tomorrow at the karting. Anybody up for it, or have a friend who would like to race. Paying tomorrow is fine, but please post up here ASAP if you fancy it !! (the race is at Raceland (nr Haddington) at 12:00)
  4. I've got a passenger door from a 4 door car that needs a new home. I bought it from a breakers yard and rejected it as it has some some marks on it that were either reacted paint, or some surface rust under the paint. It's not bad, and could possibly be rubbed down and fixed, but I couldn't be bothered and ended up finding a door the right colour anyway. The yard told me to keep it, as it wasn't worth the cost of shipping it back to him. If anyone wants it, speak up NOW and you can buy me a Guinness at the next meet ! (it would be ideal for a rally car or an older motor where a perfect fnish maybe isn't 100% required!) It's the reddish blue colour (I think) Dave
  5. Got it, just been busy - sorry. I'll reply in the next hour or so. Cheers Dave
  6. I couldn't recommend the AP 6 pots enough. I've had the P1 round knockhill lap after lap, and they just don't give up !!! With the original 4 pots, you're lucky if you get 6 laps from them before they start fading. Best £1500 you'll spend on your car in my opinion. (p.s. I tried uprated disks and pads on the std calipers, and nothing got rid of the fade after a hard session on KH)
  7. Very nice... finally !!!
  8. Raceland has it's own weather system, so don't rely on the forecast !!! A bit of rain always livens things up a bit mind you, and gives the heavyweights a good advantage too. They supply wetsuits if we need them - just bring a change of shoes !!
  9. No problem John, I'll try and delay the precedings as much as I can !! I'll PM you my mobile number shortly, and you can maybe drop me a text or call when you've got a rough ETA. Thanks for letting me know.

  11. Just a quick post to make sure everyone knows the details for Saturday. The event is due to start at 12:30, so please try and be there for 12:00. I've not got the best reputation for good time keeping, but I will make every effort to be there before 12 so I can take the final money of you all. Please don't try and pay Raceland when you get there, as that would just get TOO confusing. There are good spectator areas there, so feel free to bring friends and family along to cheer you on. There's also Jan's Diner, which serves hot and cold food and drinks all day, as well as an indoor track to watch some action if it gets too cold outside. It couldn't be an easier place to find to be honest. Just head South down the A1 from Edinburgh and look for the 'KARTING CENTRE' signs on the road. It's at a place called Gladsmuir, and if you get to Haddington YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR !!! It takes around 15 mins from the IKEA junction at Straiton, just to give you a rough idea (although I usually do it early on a Sunday morning, so beware of extra traffic). If anyone wants a map/directions, they can be found here : Map and Directions to Raceland and if you get really lost, call them on 0131 665 6525. If anyone suddenly can't make it at the last minute - please let me know ASAP, so I can try and get someone else into your place. If I can't, you will definitely not get any money back, as I have to pay it whether you're there or not. The only hope is that I can get someone else to take the place and pay you back. I may not be online on Saturday morning, so ideally call me directly, or call the track to let them know that you're part of the Subaru group and you won't be making it. If I get the chance tomorrow, I'll send everyone my mobile number so you can get me if you need to. After the karting, we're planning on having a meet and chat at the Stables bar in Edinburgh. It's only a few minutes off the bypass, so everyone should try and pop in at least for a quick one. It's pretty easy to find too, and directions can be found here : Link to Stable Bar website And quick map....
  12. Sorry to hear about your problems mate, but that's exactly why I posted this. Nothing better than a recommendation from a happy customer (or a warning from an un-happy one). What are the company called now, so no-one else gets caught out ??
  13. I agree wholeheartedly.... (Too good an opportunity to miss this one.....) Another lovely Skyline..... only £17,950 !
  14. I made the mistake of starting the F1 series in GT3 and it probably took that kinda length of time too. The final race was a load of laps round Monaco, and took over 2 hours IIRC !!! I got another F1 car out of it all though !
  15. Question... If you complete the licences with bronzes, then go back and get all silvers/golds, do you get a better car ?? Has anyone tried yet? (or what cars do you get for completing with silvers/golds) I got NA - VW polo NB - American thing.. can't remember it's name! IA - Nike concept IB - Working on it ! Dave
  16. Wot you doing out there anyway Ricey? Work or play ?
  17. We're having an amazing heat wave in Scotland just now - it's been in the 80's all week and most companies have closed all their offices, as it's too hot to work !!!
  18. Jambo. I checked the tailgate out last night, and there's no rust, but there is a dent just above the lower lip (not deep, but quite long - more like a score). Drop me an email if you want to see and I'll send you some pics. You can have it for a tenner if you want it but you'll need to pick up soon I'm pretty sure it's the reddish blue colour. Dave
  19. Awesome.... I'm getting to work with the MDF on the Skyline tonight for sure... My favourite has to be..... LOL !!!!
  20. This must be an April Fool article surely !!! Who's honestly going to watch them pitting the latest 950cc Focus against the 800cc smart car on 'third gear' !! "....well, this car has 2 cup holders and enough storage for 26 organic lettuces, while this only has one cup holder and storage for 2 organic carrots !!.... but it will do 200 miles on half a cup of oil seed rape oil !!!" Next they'll be banning advertising of cigarettes on TV and complaining that happy hours encourage over drinking !!!! ... oh wait, they've done that already !!! Still think it must be a wind up !
  21. It was dark when I got home last night, but am on my way home now so will get some pics tonight. Dave
  22. BTTT for all my stuff !
  23. Thanks mate, I'll add them to the shortlist.
  24. Ouch - very lucky indeed. What was it ??
  25. OK, all places are definitely taken now. Graham who works there would prefer to go to "the Ring" than race with us , so his place is now being filled by Cal's Brother Fraser. 1 kart_man - CONFIRMED - 3/3/05 2 Spooks - CONFIRMED - 3/3/05 (£50 paid by cheque) 3 TheSquirrel555 - CONFIRMED - 3/3/05 (£25 paid by paypal) 4 Stevo-STi - CONFIRMED 6/3/05 (£25 paid by cheque) 5 Micra_wrc - CONFIRMED - 3/3/05 (£25 paid by paypal) 6 Fraser (Cal's Bro) - CONFIRMED - 11/4/05 (paying on the day) 7 JohnS's neighbour - CONFIRMED 16/3/05 (£25 deposit paid by me) 8 JohnS - CONFIRMED 16/3/05 (£25 deposit paid by me) 9 GordyQ - CONFIRMED - 7/3/05 (£25 paid by cash) 10 Kenny McGee CONFIRMED - 4/3/05 (£50 paid by cheque) 11 ~ ~ Cal ~~ CONFIRMED 3/3/05 (£50 paid by paypal) 12 Brendan Watt - CONFIRMED 8/3/05 (£47.50 paid by cheque) 13 Paul aka muf - CONFIRMED - 7/3/05 (£25 paid by cash) 14 Mike Brown - CONFIRMED 5/3/05 (£25 paid by cash) 15 Ianj - CONFIRMED 11/4/05 (paying on day) 16 Kevin Peebles - CONFIRMED 6/3/05 (paying on day) Should be a great day.
