nope, the existing one needs removing.. on the UK98 its on the left hand fuel rail at the back. Unbolt the 2 retaining boltsfrom the existing regulator, remove the fuel hose, vacuum pipe and pull it out of the fuel rail. You need an adaptor (usually comes as part of a kit) that bolts in its place. Fuel hose is attached to the adaptor that then goes to the fuel regulator. In the kit you get another adaptor to extend the hose that was attached to the existing one, this is extended and goes to the regulator. Remove the old vacuum hose and use a longer piece of pipe to attach to the vacuum input on the new regulator. Basically the new regulator must replace the existing one to work properly. a bit fiddly and about half hour to an hours work, not worth rushing, as it is petrol we're playing with.....

Its that time for insurance renewal here, I am curious to see what sort of money people are spending on their insurance and what mods have been done on your car and who you use... may be a good comparision. I have to declare all my mods and my existing company will not insure me, after speaking to Keith Micheals they have asked me to shop about and get back to them.. I may be a bit nosey here but I think it may benefit us all to have a nice list... So heres my standard cost Feel free to add to the list or pm me because i am really curious.... pmsl.... does it happen when you go over a bump ? do you have coilovers ? Have you tried jacking up the rear of the car an seeing if there is any play in the rear wheels, wobbling top and bottom of rear wheel (whilst trying to hold the sjock) would identify it... Also worth wobbling the exhaust around to see if its knocking ... I had an anoying rattle and it turned out to be the shock insert on my coilover, I took it apart and re shimmed it and problem solved.... ( this could happen on standard shocks, but then you will need to replace it)
