  1. Guys, had a reply from Shell Distribution today in respect of the following questions; 1. Why is there so much of a price variation between sites and also it appears that dealer sites are overpriced and do Shell have any control over this? On Shell Company-owned sites, V-power products stand 6-7p off standard grades. Shell Company-owned sites will match the nearest super/hypermarket on it's standard grades, so any variation in our prices is driven by local trading conditions, but they shouldn't be that great. Dealer site prices depend on the type of deal they are on, so variations may be more pronounced. Some Dealers do premium price, and, no, we cannot prevent them doing this. I personally have seen Dealers charging up to 20p per litre above standard grade price. 2. Will Shell be going down the E85 route or similar? No plans at present. Unless there is a push from Government to do so, we would be unlikely to increase ethanol content. 3. Will the E85 bring the RON values up and will it have any effect on the running of highly tuned vehicles? Don't know. I've e-mailed a colleague at The Shell Technology Centre. I'll pass her reply on when I get it. Hope this helps answer some of the questions. If i get a reply on the RON values i will post that up too. Davie
  2. Its dealer sites that are forcing the prices up the main line sites ( Shell owned) have to stay at a local competative rate. Davie

  8. Certainly looks better then alot of the shoite some folks have from here. Each to their own though but do remember the amount of work that goes into building a car not just a shed load of cash but time, effort, cuts, grief etc etc. Well done for getting it to this stage mate. Davie
  9. They dont check everything in scrutineering its only the top three winners that are subject to more stringent checks, we once had the brake disc diameter and thickness measured after coming third on the Jim Clark in 2006. Davie
  10. Just had a quick read of Bills site ( scotmaps) and funnily enought theres a testimonial from Mr Monro!!! Raymond Munro (2003 Scottish Rally Champion)The notes we get from Scotmaps are excellent, and the video/DVD they provide certainly increases your confidence in the notes so that I can commit absolutely 100%. Having competed at all levels of the sport in the UK, I would now be reluctant to rally anywhere else where Scotmaps were not providing notes. Strange but true. Davie
  11. Ray monro struggled to get a helmet to fit him for years. Due to the size of his head. Not a nice man to have in the sport and that goes back to the good old days of the Trossachs Rally. Hope Bill Sturrock ends up winning and getting costs back. davie

  14. Ray Monros a C***k anyway. I have used Bills maps on many occasions and never a problem. Notes are a "guide" its up to the crew as to how they want to drive the route. Davie
  15. Chris Meeks 1st place is provisional until the Technical querie regarding the weight of his front cross member is confirmed. It will most likely be Monday before its confirmed. By all accounts it was a great success. Davie
